Old Philly Town

Stopped in for a Philly cheesesteak combo with mushrooms and fries. A pleasant little hole in the wall restaurant that nicely scratches that itch for a Philly cheesesteak. Yum.

Hadn't been here since around the time I moved to Colorado back in the late 2000s. I remember it being kind of flavorless back then but I had been in a cheesesteak mood lately so I found myself returning.First off, the place is kind of odd. It looks like a smaller kind of hole in the wall but for whatever reason the charm isn't there. I'm not sure why but the vibes were off the second I walked in.The service at the counter was taking awhile but I noticed that they had a self service station where you place your order through a computer. I opted for that. It was a good option for when the line was long and gives the option to easily customize.I ordered two pepper cheesesteaks one regular and one large. I added something called Delphia sauce to mine (the large). I also ordered one kid's cheesesteak. I added a large fry to order because...why not?After ordering I realized that I didn't know what came on the kid's cheesesteak and if it came with onions. Couldn't find mention of what came on it so I asked the counter folks. They said "you didn't order a kid's cheesesteak"...What?I checked my receipt and I did. I showed them the receipt and they said, "oh okay I guess we never got your order. We can throw onions on the kid cheesesteak for you"Alright, sounds good. I waited a good long while after that maybe 15 minutes or more. They were somewhat busy so I guess it made sense.I get my food and I check the bag quickly (I'm a dad so...I check all my orders now). I see two wrapped sandwiches, a bag of fries, and small box which I assumed was my large fry. Right away I notice that compared to other places I get cheesesteaks, these puppies looked small. I assumed I had gotten the regular and kids.I walked up to the counter and said I was missing a sandwich. They came over and looked in the bag and said "no, you have the large and regular and the kids in the box". Okay...that is one small cheesesteak to fit in a box that size.I opened the box while I was there and the kids cheesesteak was served on WHITE SLICED SANDWICH BREAD. This was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Also, it looked to be about an ice cream scoop worth of meat in the middle of the bread. Hey, the onions are there though.Listen, I know I may be preaching to the choir on Yelp here but...food it's important to my family and I. My daughter is 8 and well within the ages to benefit from a kid's menu but she is not dumb. She knows what a cheesesteak should be. In fact, she wanted cheesesteaks this night. Just because she is a kid doesn't mean she wants that. She wants a normal cheesesteak on a hoagie roll. Why do white bread?Anyway, I didn't complain to the employees or demand a swap out. I guess this order was on me, so I just ordered my daughter a new sandwich, a regular size, and waited another 10 minutes.The food was mid and bland still. Won't be returning.

Really good sandwiches. The slam is a good decent size portion. Plenty of parking outside. But the place does get busy. So the seating is limited. People like to claim tables before they even order. But the food is great.

FOOD - I've had better and more tastier PCS sandwiches, but this is not bad. Would I keep looking for more PCS places? Most likely. Maybe it was missing more salt and pepper or something, not sure. It just didn't leave a 'I will come back soon' on my taste buds. Will I eat it again? Yes, I will. Onion rings were nice and crispy and well seasoned. Fries? I didn't care much. It was bland for me and soggy... SERVICE - Cashier was nice and friendly. Helped us with condiments that we needed.RESTAURANT - It was clean and properly stocked. Nothing fancy. Typical. This place has legit Philly steaks with great service. The ladies I interacted with were helpful and genuinely nice. Good portion size as well.

Most tasty meaty cheesy sandwich my hubby and I have found (only exception is gyro sandwich at Pete's Kitchen @ Race&Colfax). We grab a full size and occasionally add onion ring side. Enough for him and me.

The sandwiches weren't all that great they could use some more flavor. The Phillies need more seasoning

If you're looking for that authentic, hole in the wall, family owned, fantastic sandwich spot- look no further. These are the best PCS I've had in Colorado. They are filled to the brim with juicy, warm, melt in your mouth meat and cheese. The toasted bread is soft and flavorful, and the mushrooms and peppers really bring a new dimension to the taste of the meat. They fry all of their fries fresh, right after you order, and they taste fantastic. I like to eat mine with a cup of their Delphia sauce. The people who work here are friendly, quick, and accommodating. I have a lot of food sensitivities and customize my order quite a bit and they have never once made my order incorrectly. My go-to order is the Cheesesteak and my boyfriend swears by The Slam- and we both share a side of fries (the portions are generous). This place has regulars who come in almost every day of the week for an Old Philly Town PCS- it's really that good. This has been my "secret" spot for a year now, but everyone deserves to know about how amazing Old Philly Town is! Support local restaurants!

Iv been coming here since 1980 something and it's the very best you can get. Nobody makes a better sandwich. Iv since moved from Broomfield but every time im back, i make sure to grab one of the best sandwiches on the planet. I'd rather give my money to a family instead of some faceless corporation. So if your like me you'll stop here once a week. Keep it up, you guys are a beacon to be followed.

Been coming here since high school, never even a subpar visit. Best cheesesteaks in the state, reasonable prices, locally owned. Can't ask for much more.
