Porter House - dry aged
Lobster Bisque
Mushrooms
Brussels Sprouts
The steak tartare was packed with flavor and the mustard and horseradish amplified the richness of the tender hand-chopped, raw beef.
Outside Dining
(PSA - dessert being the best thing we had at a steakhouse isn't a good sign)
Oysters in the Half Shell* **
The Caesar Salad and Scallops were mediocre - we wouldn't order either again.
The spinach was over-seasoned and the baby carrots weren't cooked long enough.
The Hand-Cut Steak Tartare was very good; it was made with prime beef, cured yolk, horseradish & watercress.
Porter House with Shishito Peppers
My filet was disappointing all around - it was rare and lukewarm in temperature.
Halibut
Dry Aged Porter House came with three sales and two sauces.
The Old Hickory Steakhouse is arguably the "nicest" restaurant on resort grounds and this is where we had dinner during our staycation.
The waitress brought the red wine to the table and poured it right into the SAME wine glass that had held my Cakebread Chardonnay.
The Old Hickory Steakhouse's aesthetic was rustic-chic with wood accents and rod iron light fixtures.

Good steakhouse. Great? In my opinion, no. First the good stuff. The baked potato was pretty good. Heaviest baked potato I've ever had, but also really good. With crème fraiche and caviar, and good flakes, it's decadent, an indulgence, and one of those things you get once in your life. I liked it!Now the bad. The steak and service. It took about 45 minutes from the time I ordered to get the main course, and my first bison steak was well cooked and tough to eat. No pink at all. I haven't had a steak that overcooked since in at least ten years. With how restaurants cook steaks these days, it was a surprise. Now they did provide a second steak, which was to specification, but even that one took a while. The steakhouse was actually not that busy either so it was clearly understaffed. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but not my type of steakhouse.

Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord Denver was a bit of a mixed bag for us. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was good, but the food just didn't quite live up to expectations.I went with the filet and added Bearnaise sauce. The steak was cooked well, but the sauce was just okay. It wasn't bad, just nothing special. My husband got the scallops, and he really liked them. They were huge, which was a nice surprise. We shared the Caesar salad, and honestly, it was a little too heavy on the anchovies. That was all I could taste. For sides, we got the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, and neither one really impressed me. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant mash, with that same bland, grainy texture. The mac and cheese was under-seasoned, which kind of seemed to be the theme of the meal.Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but for the price, I was hoping for more. Some things had potential, but everything just needed a little more flavor. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again anytime soon.

Called to make a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner. You do have to put a card down when confirming the reservation. I was happy to be able to dress up for dinner, the inside was lovely and decorated holiday themed. My family was staying at the Gaylord for the Christmas Holiday and this steakhouse looked amazing. It did not disappoint. It is much larger than anticipated, and we were seated by our lovely waiter. I waited two weeks to write this review so I can't remember his name. But he and the other gentleman helping were amazing. He will know who he is, he wore a different name tag also loves the massive pepper grinder, always makes a joke of it. (best part of the night!) Any who, I was very impressed with the food. The appetizer portions are large as well as the sides, so keep that in mind. The fresh bread was unreal, I could eat 5 of them. The true star was the steak, and whipped potatoes. The medium rare steak was cooked to perfection, and I shared it as well as shared a few sides. It was more than enough food! I recommend a started, and then two maybe three sides for the table. Well, depending on how hungry you are. The price is what you would expect for a nice steak house, around $80-100 per person depending on if you get drinks. Overall, great experience and would love to celebrate a holiday here again.

Despite this being inside a resort, the food and service were great. Our server Scott was so nice and lively. He gave us some awesome recommendations and none of them disappointed. The whipped potatoes were so fluffy and buttery. The brussel sprouts had a delicious glaze to them and were perfectly cooked. The winner was definitely the lamb. So different from new Zealand lamb, tender and full of flavor. For dessert- the creme brulee was huge, and every bit was so delicious . The Ambiance was pretty casual and it was a nicely maintained restaurant. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

The price is what you expect from a great steakhouse at a resort but worth the money! The sides are very shareable and delicious and packed with flavor!! Thanks for a great experience!

Came here for dinner with a friend. He got the filet and I got the bison strip. What was most impressive was the ambience as well as the fantastic service. Koto was very attentive and made it a point to ensure service was to our liking. The steaks were cooked to order and delicious. As far as the food I was incredibly impressed with the lobster Mac and cheese. Especially since I never order this. My friend wanted to share and it was a great choice. We also got the harissa carrots which I though were cooked quite well and brimming with flavor. Definitely recommend Old hickory if you're looking for a quality steakhouse.

Over priced steaks. These guys served a steak that you probably would see at a local diner on a cold plate. Took one bite and stopped. If you are going to charge high end prices then use high end steaks!

Great experience, excellent food, and fantastic service! We were there with a large party and the waiters were always available and answered all of our questions and made sure everyone's little requests were taken care of. We were a party of 20! With so many of us, there are a lot of requests and dietary requirements, or just preferences, but none of us felt like we were being ignored or not taken care of.The food was excellent. I had the Filet Mignon, which was cooked a perfect medium rare, the shrimp cocktail, with the biggest shrimp we had ever seen (lol) and chocolate cake for dessert. Our table got lobster mac and cheese, with giant pieces of lobster, and the roasted brussels sprouts were a hit too. The ambiance was beautiful! We had a table on their dining terrace, which you just can't beat with the gorgeous sunset in the background! A bit pricey, but if you're going to have one nice dinner during your vacation or stay in Denver/Aurora, I highly recommend it!
