Mike's Cafe

One way to get me to write a less than stellar review is to overcook my steak. I ordered rare, it was well done. The potato portion was small. The rest was fine. I love a little breakfast spot like this, but I absolutely despise a well-done steak.

Ok, this place was amazing. I've lived in this area for a decade and likely driven by this place 100 times. It has very unassuming signage I can barely read from the road. The sign is weathered and the place kinda looks like it might have closed ten years ago. But, what a surprise. Apparently it's a "locals" favorite and after my lunch today, I know why. We were greeted and seated within thirty seconds of walking in. The young female hostess was welcoming and chatty. Our waitress, Christina, was incredible from our first conversation forward. She was fun, friendly, efficient and professional. In a very almost friends kind of way. The food was hot, fresh and well made. The prices were much better than Denny's or a Village Inn and the atmosphere much more personable. I just might have found my new breakfast spot in my area.

Food is very good and reasonably priced! This is an old cafe...go for the food, prices and excellent service! Drive carefully to avoid pot holes in parking lot! Our go-to for a good BF at reasonable prices! Almost don't want to share this gem with others, as it is very popular. (Bonus - Coffee for less than $3)

I love basically everything about Mikes Cafe! It's pretty much got the best green chile in town. While sometimes they get super crazy busy, everybody's so nice there! We just really like being there. Can't wait to get back.

Best diner food I've found! Best service, and nice comfy booths! I love that they actually tell you on the menu that their eggs Benedict come with chicken gravy and Not hollandaise.

My 2nd visit I will go back. Great value and very friendly people.Seems like a lot of regulars which is nice to see.

Do not eat here. Mike's is just getting too crowded. Too popular. LOL. But I exaggerate. Restaurant has gotten very popular but it is still possible to walk in to empty tables and sit right down. I have been eating here (most happily) for many years. Great food, reasonable prices, good service. If you like "out of the way diners", you will love Mike's Cafe. My go to fave's are Chicken fried steak (not best ever) but best ever for the price, and the Chili Rellenos. CR breakfast is "Chili Rellenos and eggs". Lunch is Chili Rellenos with rice and beans". Both are excellent. So please don't go here because I don't want to wait to eat if it gets too busy.Mike C.Lakewood, Co.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years now! Every time I eat here the food hits! The food is great, the service is great and you can't beat how affordable it is!
