Machetes Gourmet

So if you are on the far northeast part of Denver - on a Tuesday or other days except Monday stop by Machetes for a fresh, flavorful taco!!! I order mine extra crispy and my chicken well done and they cook it just right! Jossy the owner and her son are awesome people!I support any woman who's making a difference in her community and can cook wonderful tacos!!! The customer service and customer experience is something that adds to their service! Seeing a family - mother and son working together to make it happen for their family is powerful!! You won't be disappointed! Thank you Jossy for being awesome!!

First time Ive had a machete, and it was pretty good!This is a food truck, that sits on a street with other food trucks in the immediate horizon. I highly recommend you call in your order instead of doing an online order if you want your food quicker. Took about 10 minutes to make the machete. They cut it in half so it can fit in the take out container. Im from Texas so I can tell the filling inside this machete was a little different from what I normally see. This felt like a grilled veggie slaw around with the meat and cheese. The machete itself reminds me of the consistency of a thin sope. It was a good amount of masa without feeling like too much! The meat was juicy and tender. The red sauce is quite hot, but it had me coming back for more each bite! The green sauce is somewhat spicy but not nearly as spicy as the red sauce. I wanted to order a horchata, but they only had a mango fresca that day. It was quite good, although a bit on the sweeter side than I would normally order.

Tacos were amazing and fully loaded! Service was immediate and as first time visitors we were informed of each item they had. The Machete is the 20" taco that is equivalent to 4 tacos. Don't worry if you want it that long, they offer hand sized tacos as well. From a food truck, can't really judge ambiance. But they are in a nice location that isn't off a main road. There is plenty of room to park so you don't have to worry about making tight turns. We wish they had some tables to eat outside but we live close-by so we have no complaints.

I did a food roulette and this place popped up. I thought tacos sounded good. I saw they had birria tacos and hopped on it fast. I ordered 3 of them and some horchata. I parked by the truck about 10-15 minutes before they said my order would be ready but I just waited in my car patiently. I received a call from them about 3-5 minutes before they were supposed to have my order ready and they told me that they didn't have anymore birria for the birria tacos. I asked if they could use chicken inside two of the tacos and steak inside the other but make it just like the birria tacos with the cheese and the consume on the tortilla the woman on the phone said yes and I doubled down to confirm she understood what I meant and she confirmed my order. I paid $30 for 3 tacos and my drink only to get 3 plain tacos not the birria rendition made with the chicken and steak like I asked the lady for. This is a place, me personally, I tried and I don't have to be back again. Not due to the flavor of the food, but the experience and how my food turned out.

Ordered from here a few times, most recently on a Saturday morning at the start of lunch. Their truck is located right by the DMV on a wide road that's easy to turn around on. Ordering process is smooth and they've been quick to prepare our orders. The tacos and machetes are all delicious, unique, and a tad on the spicy side. This will definitely be one of our regular carryout spots!

First machete, won't be my last. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it. Could fill up two people. Service was nice and friendly and quick even during lunch.

So delicious!! Fabulous customer service. Given the business name, the Machetes needed to be ordered and they were fantastic! Portions are large. All items personalized too! Will be back.
