This was my first time in this place, and I tried this spot on a friend's recommendation. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was outstanding: pork ribs, fresh shrimp spring rolls, chicken dumplings, pork rolls, Vietnamese chicken and cabbage salad, whole red snapper, shaking beef, and roasted duck. For dessert and drinks, everything complemented the meal perfectly. While I'm not a big fan of duck, my friends absolutely loved it. Overall, this place exceeded expectations, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for flavorful food and a great dining experience.

I had high hopes for Le Colonial, given its reputation, but unfortunately, my experience was mixed. The food was OK --nothing extraordinary, but well-prepared and flavorful. The spring rolls were fresh, and the shaking beef was tender, though a bit under-seasoned.However, the biggest disappointment was the bar staff. From the moment we arrived, the female bartenders seemed indifferent at best and outright rude at worst. It took forever to get a drink, and when we finally did, the attitude that came with it was off-putting. I do have a hearing impairment and the noise level in here was very high. It was extremely difficult to hear my friends at which the bartenders told my friend she was yelling (who also happens to have a hearing impairment). Instead of a welcoming and professional vibe, we were met with eye-rolls and rude dismissive bartenders (the waitress at our table was excellent on the other hand). For a place that markets itself as upscale, the Tommy Bahama decor and lack of hospitality/professionalism will not take me back.

Le Colonial is a relatively new French Vietnamese restaurant in a beautiful area of Cherry Creek. I would describe the atmosphere as warm, dark, moody, and romantic. It is definitely a perfect spot to bring a date you are trying to impress. Make sure to dress up! There are two areas in the restaurant: the bar and the porch. Both areas have full kitchen service. I would definitely recommend the porch for a more intimate and quiet setting while the bar has somewhat of a loud and fun atmosphere. My party went for the porch but I would like to go back for some drinks at the bar another time. The food and drinks were all absolutely amazing. I love Vietnamese food and I was a bit concerned that Le Colonial's food would be more fusion than traditional Vietnamese but the Vietnamese people I was with assured me that although the food wasn't completely traditional they did a good job of sticking to the true flavors. In particular, I would recommend the beef salad and the pork ribs. Everything was so good but those two in particular blew me away. The wine that our server recommended was also a great pairing to our food. To wrap this up, our server was also very personable and made sure that we ordered the perfect amount of food, picked good pairings, and had a good time overall. I can't wait to go back and have another amazing experience.

The atmosphere and decor here are super cool -- definitely one of the main draws, as it's a standout in the city. From the elegant front atrium dining area, to the white-tablecloth dining room full of tropical plants, to the upbeat bar and lounge area covered with red velvet -- it's all fantastic. The cocktails and mocktails are all creative, fun, and delicious. I'd definitely come back here just to hang out at the cool bar and drink those! The food is great, albeit slightly on the pricier side (but fitting for the restaurant quality and the location). The "ravioli" and dumplings were great as apps -- but the tartare and ceviche felt a little out of place and not our favorites. The oxtail pho broth is amazing -- I wish this was a fuller dish with more meat, because it was so good. The Shaking Beef main was a table favorite, but we were slightly underwhelmed by the Peking duck in comparison to dim sum spots. I'd love to try the whole red snapper next time.

The most mid restaurant ever. The nationwide establishments, its location in Cherry Creek, and the interior decor softens the blow slightly. I have been to Le Colonial twice. I'll start with lunch. The portions were huge for lunch. The beet salad was delicious. The curry was decent, though nothing close to worth the price. On to dinner. The food, cocktails, and service is fine. For a starting cocktail, I had the "Old Cuban" - a dark rum and champagne concoction - which was pretty flat and dull. The chicken dumplings were tasty, large and supple. The papaya salad was also quite a large portion, but not super interesting. I'll equate it to a large papaya coleslaw. It tasted good but was--as to be the theme--fine. We then split the half roasted duck, which was super disappointing. It's "Peking" duck - which feels like they have never had before. To be fair, neither have I. And I still knew it was not Peking duck. The bao buns were super disappointing and stale, like they had been sitting around and under steamed. They stuck together at hard spots that ran through the center. After three decently disappointing dishes, we ordered the spicy chicken stir-fry, which could have been the same as if delivered in a plastic container from my typical Chinese delivery. Oh wait, the side of brussel sprouts was pretty good. $300 later and it was all in all pretty lackluster.

If Paris and Hanoi threw a dinner party, this restaurant would be the delicious result. Ambience is dim lit with a lot of tall plants. Our server was very attentive and had a lot of great suggestions. The Beef Luc Lac is pure magic--tender, buttery, and perfectly charred that might just make you blush. The chicken dumplings and shrimp crispy rolls are so good they could end family feuds, while the French-Vietnamese ravioli prove that cultural fusion belongs on every plate. As for the pork ribs? They're so tender and flavorful you'll be tempted to gnaw on the bones in public (no judgment here). Oh and our server got us hot towels to clean up after the ribs - just five star treatment overall! Desserts here are the grand finale you didn't know you needed. The tapioca pudding is a creamy, tropical dream, and the pineapple upside-down cake makes you wish every cake came flipped. This place isn't just a meal; it's an edible adventure. Come hungry, leave blissfully stuffed, and don't forget to loosen your belt before dessert--you'll need it.

DROP EVERYTHING AND GO EAT HERE. Holy toledo, the experience here was just 10/10. I went to the one in Houston several years ago and loved the vibes, food and bevvies. It was much the same in Denver. The aesthetic and the food is no more French than Vietnamese with prompt service and incredible flavors. The interior is all velvet and southern with Vietnamese images and foliage all around. The menu is sharable and the portions are much larger than most sharables around town and tastier. Each dish we ordered had texture and flavor and was beautifully displayed. We cannot wait to go back for our second reservation on Monday.

Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner and it was popping! We didn't have a reservation but arrived early enough (~5:15) that we were able to score a table - a lovely booth at that, which was a pleasant surprise.Service was impeccable. Plenty of staff bustling about but it didn't feel overwhelming or jam-packed. My water glass was never more than 1/2 full which is basically my love language. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and our food was spaced out perfectly (a perk of ordering all at once). For drinks, my husband had the smoked old fashioned and I went with a mocktail, Saigon Mint Colada. Both were delicious. The OF wasn't cheap ($25) but it was perfect. Next up, food! Family style is the name of the game here. We started with the Sui Cao Chien (Pan seared chicken dumplings) which were satisfying; crispy but not too heavy. For entrees we ordered Cari Ga (Tofu Curry) and beef stir fry which was reminiscent of drunken noodles. They were both super yummy. Highly flavorable, good portions, and the right amount of kick - the beef was melt in your mouth level and just perfect. I would have liked a tad more veggies in the curry, but that's my only recommendation. We also had a side of Do Chu (House Pickled Seasonal Vegetables)... I could eat those every single day and be thrilled. Lastly, we ended with vanilla crème brûlée and guess what? Also amazing. If you couldn't tell, we loved our dinner at Le Colonial. I would be more than happy to return. Everything was top notch and the prices weren't outrageous for the quality, especially considering they are in Cherry Creek North.Zero Proof Review: I'm on a quest to check out all the zero proof, mocktail and n/a beverages that Denver and beyong has to offer. Le Colonial had a few options I had difficulty choosing between, but my Saigon Mint Colada was a winner. Good depth, high quality ingredients (I hate canned pineapple, this was fresh!), and fairly priced. I'm looking forward to trying their Le Diable next time. My only recommendation would be to add in some n/a wines and beer to the mix - especially a bubbly!

After some positive word of mouth, our supper club decided to check out Le Colonial recently. The vibes were on point--stylish and striking decor totally befitting the concept, perfect mood lighting (including some truly great table lamps), and several beautiful dining areas. The menu offered many choices, so we got a variety of dishes.-Crispy Shrimp & Pork Rolls: Good flavor and accompaniments; very (overly?) stuffed.-Sesame Beef Ravioli: A table favorite; the beef was done perfectly, and I could not get enough of the crispy shallots (fortunately they were abundant).-Lotus Root Salad: A flavor explosion; highly recommend.-Shaking Beef: Tender and delicious beef (4 pieces); lots of veggie accompaniment.-Roasted Salmon: Recommended by our server, this dish was just ok; ordered medium rare, but was too well done; could taste the referenced lobster broth, but didn't have much else going on otherwise.-Chicken Curry: Tasty and a good portion (you may want to order additional rice, especially if sharing)-Crispy Brussel Sprouts (side): Good; but basic. You've had these before elsewhere.-Chargrilled Eggplant (side): Generous portion and an excellent side; needed to be a little more evenly dressed, but the fish saucy bites were magic.-Shiitake Mushroom Sticky Rice: Everyone's least favorite item; a hint of five spice, but very little mushroom, and the price for the portion made it not worth it all things considered.-Warm Chocolate Cake: Amazing (flaming!) presentation, but in my opinion lacking in lava center and just okay. While we were told we should order one starter and one entree per person, that did not prove to be necessary. I really did appreciate that most of the entrees were fairly generous in size, given the associated (spendy) price tag. Things were definitely shareable. We all agreed we could make a meal just ordering the appetizers and salads, given how great those were.It was a little frustrating that our food was not coursed more; we received all of the salads/apps at the same time, and then all of the entrees with 3 sides & rice together. The tables are not large, so with the 4 of us there sharing items with extra plates, it was certainly a tight squeeze, and things also got more cold/soggy than they might have otherwise. (I've seen a couple of other reviewers with similar loaded table pictures, so maybe something to be deliberate about when ordering.)All of that said, the ambiance made for a lovely evening and the food was flavorful and enjoyable. I would consider this a good special occasion place with Vietnamese flair, consistent with the Cherry Creek neighborhood.

This is easily one of my new favorite restaurants. It is a chain and they just open their new Denver location. So some of you may be familiar or are wondering if it is the same as the le colonials you visited in other states, and that it isThe spot fits perfectly in Cherry Creek, and has a menu full of delicious Vietnamese cuisine that's all prepared using French techniques. The inside is so warm and cozy and almost gave me Cuban vibes. But I'm not a seasoned traveler, so just go view it for yourself . The atmosphere is just one of the many things that makes this place so special, but it truly makes you feel like you're on vacation or at a swanky resort. On that note, make sure to dress up. This is a nice place. There is a whole restaurant side as well as a lounge side. So if you're looking to just get a quick and cozy drink, hit up the lounge side, and if you want dinner, make a reservation for the dining side as this place is already bumpin. I recommend starting with any of the spring rolls which are to die for. Also, the shaking beef was my favorite entrée, served with a side of seasoning and lime to dip your steak in, which was unique and delicious. Any of the shrimp dishes were also good as well as the noodles and the fried rice. You really can't go wrong here.Don't forget to end the evening with dessert. I highly recommend the hot chocolate cake or the pineapple cake. Both served with ice cream and a phenomenal way to end the meal.
