LB Tacos

Omg!!!! This food truck was in front of my office today and I decided to order the mole quesadillas!!!! Omgeeeee sooooo good!!!! Do yourself a favor and get some!!!! Delicious!!!

The truck came to our apartment complex this evening and I'm glad they did. We ordered barbacoa (shredded beef), al pastor (seasoned pork), asada (steak), and seafood (sautéed fish and shrimp.) All came on packaged, nicely warmed and doubled up corn tortillas.Barbacoa: came with fresh cilantro and onion. Lightly seasoned, very beefy, not fatty, tender but not mushy in texture.Al pastor: came topped with lots of their pineapple habanero salsa. The salsa is spicy, but not burning thanks to the abundance of pineapple with added texture and flavor from slices of raw red onion. It compliments the meat nicely, but you may want to ask for it on the side because they put a lot and the sweetness becomes overpowering. The meat itself is firm, not chewy, with the expected adobo seasoning (mild chili) and just enough salt.Carne asada: topped like the barbacoa. Small chunks like the al pastor, similar firm texture and heavily seasoned which is a nice change from my usual bland asada experiences.Seafood taco: topped with the pineapple salsa and another sweet sauce leading to too much sweetness. Both proteins are well seasoned. Shrimp had a good texture though the fish was mushy. Would be better off with one salsa or the other meaning you can save yourself by ordering them on the side. All the tacos come with a lime wedge apiece and your choice of spicy red or mild tomatillo salsas. The very friendly guys on the truck gave us both salsas on the side. The tomatillo is exactly how I like it: acidic, salted, a great compliment to all the tacos. The red brought the heat as a mostly chili based sauce which is also how it tastes, chili and not much else.Very happy I got to try them and looking forward to another visit.

I first heard about this taco truck on nextdoor, but every time I passed by the bowling alley, I never saw it. Realized that it was because they are only there during the day a couple of day a week and I would usually pass by it's spot in the evenings.I was lucky enough last week to happen to be driving down federal during the day on a day off I had so stopped. First off, they have tripas, which is a taco meat that I really enjoy and can't find enough and they do it right. Nice and crispy and not rubbery like I have had at some other taco places. They also had fresh Mexican drinks. I would definitely stop by again.Make sure to bring cash if you can as there is an extra fee added if you use a credit card.

Ordered the barbacoa burrito while they were at Halfpenny Brewery. Absolutely fantastic food! The burrito was super drippy from all that barbacoa goodness just like it's supposed to be. I wish I'd taken a picture before I started eating, because after the first bite I couldn't set it down until it was gone and I set down the empty foil.

We came to pick up 24 tacos for the family for lunch. This place is delicious!! Quick service and the guys who run it are the sweetest! They made sure we were taken care of and that we had our special requests met. The street tacos were perfect and the homemade sauces have the perfect amount of flavor and heat. We will be back in a heartbeat.

Delicious tacos. We tried the pork and steak tacos. The pineapple habanero salsa was amazing. Customer service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back and try more!
