La Morena mexican restaurant 2

I don't normally write reviews but my latest experience at this restaurant needs to be shared in hopes of improvement. This wasn't my first time dining here. I previously came here with some coworkers and had a fantastic time. Last Tuesday the 4th, I decided to bring my husband so he could try it too. It was around 1pm so it wasn't too busy. The food was incredible, the atmosphere pleasant, however the service definitely needs improvement. Our server was a young lady who never came to check on us after taking our orders. During our time there, we could see her interacting with the other tables just fine but never walked our way. We had to flag down another gentleman to take our plates and even bring us the check. I couldn't help but notice we were the only white couple there so I'm really hoping that wasn't the reason why. Again, the food was great, but the way we were ignored makes us not want to return. A friend shared a similar experience at this place and its a shame to hear that the staff is ruining what could be an overall amazing restaurant.

The food at La Morena was very good! There were tons of options to choose from as the menu is quite large. I had the Verde enchiladas which were very good and very plentiful. You will definitely go home with a to go box. All of the dishes were good and my friend ordered the octopus which was also very goods the service was a little slow but it seemed as if they were limited with servers working. However, the servers were nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The only downside of the experience are the prices. They seemed to be quite high but now a days, every restaurant is expensive so I looked past that. The restaurant is clean, decorated and open! Give this spot a try.

This restaurant is not like any Mexican restaurant I've visited before. It's more of a coastal restaurant with a huge menu with lots of choices. I feel like I'm on vacation. The meals are delivered on platters with plenty of food. It's spicy like I like it so you may want to get it on the side. Service is good and I highly recommend you give it a try.

I'm so excited about the new La Morena in Aurora! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with neutral colors and tv's on just about every wall, with a huge tv station in the middle of the restaurant. You can literally watch tv from any seat. The service gets 5 stars from me, because as soon as we were seated, someone was pouring water into our glasses and someone else was bringing out a basket of chips, salsa and (what I call) pinwheels. I ordered shrimp fajitas, and guacamole. My husband also ordered fajitas. The portion sizes were so large that we had a 2nd meal from it, the next day. The food was delicious and fresh! I can't wait to go back and try some other options from their massive menu!

I came with my husband and 12 month old to La Morena as we just moved close by and wanted to check it out. I know they recently came to this spot, and we found them to be pretty well established already! The servers were really attentive and we liked the kids menu that had a couple more options than a typical place. My husband loveddd the seafood fajitas, and my carnitas enchiladas had great flavor. The menu was huge with lots of options. I was surprised to see sushi and don't know how I feel about that haha. Margaritas were also huge, but tasted really good (we got the house and jalapeño! Overall we really enjoyed this family-friendly restaurant.

Incredible menu. Beautiful plating. Just opened this weekend and am already planning a return visit.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing it open after Church. When went inside it was nicely decorated and welcoming. We were seated and given the menu, that thing is like a small book. There were so many choices a person could be overwhelmed. We decided on our meals and waited. My wife ordered the salmon without rice and wanted veggies instead. I ordered the steak and enchiladas NO onions. When our food arrived my wife's plate had a huge portion of rice and no veggies. She asked for the veggie so the waiter took here plate and returned with no rice and 2 slices of tomato? My enchiladas were full of onions and I of asked for new ones sans the onions and was given them. The food on our plates was warm at best. But we ate most of our meals. As soon as we arrived home my wife started feeling ill and immediately started to throw up. We believe it was the salmon because that was the only thing that she had that I didn't try from her meal. We won't be going back anytime soon but hope that the restaurant keeps a close on their food storage and doesn't make anyone else sick.

We came to the restaurant because we like explore places and we have never been. Seamed popular since is was 1 pm on a Tuesday and the place has half packed. Taking this as a good sign we sat down and looked at the menu. There was a lot of different options from seafood dishes to sushi to basic Mexican dishes. We were just craving some tacos and enchiladas so that is what we got. We also order the spinach cheese dip. But what they brought out was unbaked spinach mixed with what tasted like cheese wiz. After we got our main dishes. My sister got the tacos which were mostly lettuce. The chicken was very dry but the tortilla was soggy. There was also no flavor to the taco bc the chicken was under seasoned. My dish, the enchiladas, was also dry. There was no sauce on the enchiladas but there was potatoes? It also came with beans that just tasted like bushes baked beans. We also had to wait 20 minutes just for our waters to be filled. We will not be going again and wanted to warn others of how horrible the food is here.The place was fairly well decorated. Seamed like a fancy sports bar.

To the owner of the "La Morena family" on Mississippi Ave: I'm writing this on behalf of my grandparents. Last week, they went to have breakfast/lunch there. only to have a disgusting experience. Their server, a skinny girl (as they described her), reeked of alcohol unfortunately there wasn't another server they could've requested as she was the only one . She never once checked on them, after a while a guy, who can only speak spanish, was sent to help but they only saw him once. The food was delicious, they said,so they decided to give you guys  a second chance. They went back on Monday only to find the same server again. She gave them their order only to disappear again. This time, neither the guy from the first time bothered to ask if everything was ok. They got up and paid the bill. The lady at the front asked them about how everything was, and my grandparents told her about the waitress not checking on them. She apologized for their bad experience and gave them a 10% discount card. They don't know her name or if she was the owner or the manager. My grandmother said she was a very nice blonde lady and well dressed. They appreciated the card, but they said that unless they hire more servers that are not drunk  for the lunch /breakfast hours, it is more likely they will not return. Upon having thise experience they feel the need to share  this so that friends or strangers reading this can know. It is an unfortunate  experience, my grandma said, as the restaurant has potential

Me gusto mucho la comida y el ambiente que tienen ahí yo usualmente voy a la otra morena en la Colfax. Este domingo fui al nuevo restaurante y mi experiencia no fue agradable. Una mesera de nombre jimema debe de tener cuidado al hablar en frente de clientes. Su vocabulario es muy vulgar no sé si fue porque estaba con quién parecía ser su pareja o de por sí así es ella. Yo voy a barras y me tratan mejor que ella, en cuestión de comportamiento y lenguaje. Mejor me quedo en la otra morena o en el de al lado hasta que tengan gente menos vulgar para hablar.
