La Casa Del Rey

I'm having a hard time justifying 4 stars, but that's possibly because I should have gone with my usual and not trying something different. Service : we sat down and within a minute chips and salsa were brought to the table and our drink order was taken. About a minute a later our waitress came to the table and was ready to take our order. 5 stars for service. Ambiance- not going there for the ambiance. The restaurant was clean and I would give it 4 stars. Food: got the steak and shrimp fajitas. They were not sizzling at all, so not sure where the sizzle went. There wasn't much steak and what was on the plate was cut super thin. Wish there would have been bigger pieces of meat or more. My meal I would give a 3.75. Not bad, but not great. I will definitely go back to Casa Del Rey, but stick with the enchiladas or the shrimp rancheros.

While our experience wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, there's a much better place down the road. This was our first visit. We went during dinner time and they weren't busy! We were seated immediately and the staff were friendly and services were fast.I ordered the chile relleno's plate and a bean and cheese burrito. The chile relleno's are not your typical stuffed peppers. Mine appeared to be rolled like taquitos and instead of being stuffed with white cheese, it looked like they used the same shredded Mexican cheese inside as on the top. Unfortunately to top it off, my dish was still cold in random spots and only ate half of it. Everything is covered in green chile, whether you ask for it or not. Salsa and chips were served on the house. But if you order a side dip like guacamole as we did (which my husband and I thought was bland and needed more salt and lime), keep in mind it's about $7 for a serving the same size of the salsa. We only had 1 glass of water the whole dinner time. We were only asked if we wanted a refill only when we were getting ready to leave.

This place has a lot of seating and I like the decor. The food itself was ok but our waitress Lexi was awesome. She was super friendly and so attentive. We ordered the chicken enchiladas and chicken fajita taco salad along with orchata and casa loca cocktail. We liked the food and drinks but it tasted like average Mexican from other restaurants we've tried. Really the service set this restaurant apart...thanks Lexi!

Tried for the first time this weekend! We were seated quickly and were given waters, chips, and salsa. Huge menu with lots of options! Went with the Gillys burrito with green chile. Service was quick but was disappointed as the burrito came with chicken instead of pork as described. It was still very good and the green chili was flavorful. The guacamole was disappointing as it needed salt and was pricey for a small amount. Location has very cute interior and is well kept. Overall, we might come back but likely to continue trying all of the other Mexican food in the area.

I truly enjoyed my experience here. It's a typical Mexican place to eat with Mexican Tex mex style options. My only downside to this place was very far and few vegan options. If your looking for a place not to crowded before a game this is a great place to go cause of its location.

We in the door that looked like the entrance it wasn't. A busier told us to go see a hostess and pointed in the right direction. We were seated in a busy restaurant. The busses brought us chips and salsa. The waitress took our order she seemed disinterested but ok. I enjoyed the salsa my son did not. It seemed fire roasted it had a slightly different flavor than I am used to but good. My meal was huge. I got a shredded beef taco. The shell was really good the taco was stuffed full with meat etc. the tostadas was what you would expect. The burrito I wish I would have had enchilada sauce. The waitress did t ask and I forgot to request it instead of green chile. The chicken burrito was huge and it was pretty good. It seemed like they just got the hand held kiosks because the waitress seemed to be very interested in it.

Salsa tasted bland; green chile had lots of pork chunks but pretty tasteless ground beef had zero seasoning on the burrito supreme. Came with maybe 2 teaspoons of guacamole in a tiny plastic cup; smaller than the tasting cups at Costco. Sopapillas took forever to arrive at the table. And had been fried in the same oil as the French fries; how do I know, we got a French fry in our basket of sopapillas. Took almost the entire bottle of honey to make them edible. Won't go back. Very loud with several babies screaming and toddlers running around with no parental supervision.

We came here for a late dinner. They were closing in about an hour and a half and the place was still very full. We were fortunate to get a table with no wait. They started us off with chips and salsa. We also ordered their Smothered fries. These did not look, but we're damn tasty and a perfect way to start our meal. They used frozen fries but the chili had a nice kick to it. My wife ordered their Mexican hamburger. I had a few bites and it was good. I decided to order their hot smothered burrito with steak. The steak was seasoned perfectly but the highlight of the meal was definitely the hot chili. It was spicy but still edible. It also had the perfect amount of cheese. We ended our meal with their fried ice cream. This was ok but the whole thing was cold. The exterior shell should be warm so you get a warm outside and still cold ice cream on the inside. Overall very satisfied with our meal and I could me myself returning if I'm ever back in the area.

Great food and friendly staff. The food here is consistently good. It was crazy cold inside though. We were shivering while eating. We couldn't even let our food settle because we were in such a hurry to get out of the cold. Thankfully that's my only complaint. I love La Casa and I'll always return.

DO NOT ORDER TO GO FROM HEREIt sucks because we have been loyal customers for over 10 years. We live about 25 min away, and have never had had a bad experience until the last couple of months. Things have been missing- they "make it right"- by saying they will give us the same things next time. That doesn't help when I want what I ordered. I excused those, because I should have checked my bag. Tonight. My daughter always orders the same thing. They got the meat wrong. There is no way I could check that until I got home, and cut it up. Of course they ask if I can come back. I live 25 min away. Extremely frustrated with not only consistent lack of service, but lack of letting your staff make things right. I absolutely should not have to call on my own time the next day to make it right. So frustrated (several situations) with a place that used to be our favorite.
