Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar

We ordered To-Go via online and we're very satisfied the service! Our food was ready, hot, and on-time. My family and I ordered the Large Catch - Garlic Butter, added boiled eggs with head-on shrimp and Dungeness crab, hush puppies with remoulade sauce, and oyster basket. Everything was great and delicious! The large catch is a really big tray so unless you're very hungry or craving a boil really badly, this could probably feed 2 people! I really love hush puppies and these had great flavor, but I wish they were bigger. The fried oysters were surprisingly small for being in season. They were more batter than anything but had a nice crunch. For seafood in Denver, the quality was satisfactory. We enjoyed our meal and will be back to try other items!

First, the staff were great. The host and server were all kind and very accommodating. But overall, it's a no for me. We went on a weeknight so the place was very low key and not crowded at all. It was very dark in the restaurant and I had trouble reading anything to include their catchy worded decor. We ordered the crawfish boil and fried catfish. The catfish was ok. The boil tasted like water. I barely ate any because eating it felt like I'd be embracing a post apocalyptic world, that I'm just not going to be cut out for. When friends tell me they love it, I just smile and nod and remind myself to never accept a finer party invite from them.

We've ordered out from this location multiple times and it's always great. The crab is cooked well with yummy seasoning. Straight butter or Cajun is my favorite. The potatoes and corn are delicious. The hush puppies are a must order as they are by far the best I've had.

Wife was craving seafood boil and not many places in Denver. Tried hook and real for the first time and pleasantly surprised! Food was on time and hot even after the 15min drive back home. Hook and real sauce was flavorful and the spicy was just the right amount of spice. Hush puppies were good and I can definitely see why they are one of the most popular items. Fried Oysters were pretty small but that's expected and fries were soft but always going to be better in person. The seafood boil was all well cooked and there was lots of sausage for $6 extra dollars. Would have loved an extra corn but still plenty of food!

Honey!!! When I tell you the Hook N Reel sauce Spicy is the business. I got the mini crab boil and 6 steamed oysters. All delicious it was spicy my lips are still burning a lil. My waitress was wonderful checking in often. I've often passed by but this was my first time here so glad I finally stopped in. I sat in a booth by the bar I'm always a bit chilly. Music playing was a nice 80's blend I believe. Check them out

Great flavors on multiple dishes we tried; my shrimp po boy was the bomb; the clam chowder was as tasty even though it was a little thin from what I'm used to. The seafood baskets with the rest of the group also received great reviews, especially the puppies.

The food here is so mediocre and lacks flavor. Maybe if you're not getting a seafood boil then don't expect anything good. I'm not much of a seafood eater but if the menu offers other items, then put some effort into them as well. However one person in our party got a boil and had to request more seasoning because it too, was bland. The drinks were good for the price. I ordered my food to go because checks for large parties can only be broken down 4 ways. But I did eat my food in the restaurant (just ordered to go so that I could pay separately). Now, our waitress JASMINE...she was absolutely EVERYTHING!! We had a huge party with only her as our waitress and she rocked it!! That woman is outstanding at her job! Doubt I'll dine here again unless I'm invited for an occasion.

Meet some friends here for an early lunch and had a great meal. Ordered the fried shrimp basket and a shrimp po'boy and everything was great. The shrimp are hand breaded and large with about 7-8 of them coming in the basket. They also do the seafood boils with a variety of sauces so looking to go back.

Ordered the Cajun boil with the mild hook and reel sauce. The sauce was sweeter than I hoped but wasn't terrible. I think there was quite a bit of food for only $25. If I was ever in Denver I might return but definitely get a different sauce. Service was fine.

Filthy bathrooms, slow service, food is adequate but not close to juicy seafood. Won't be returning.
