His gentlemanly attitude and attentive service take the experience up a notch. He is certainly the person you want slinging your drinks.For someone who misses the music-everywhere-all-the-time vibe of Austin, and an LA Native, Herb's Hideout feels like a slice of home. Popped in here for a drink after seeing a show at the Summit, live music, friendly, John the bartender was great, they both were but I didn't catch the young man's name . It's the perfect Hideout!

Like local music? Then Herb's is the place. On any night they will have a live band. We got into town on a Sunday and wanted to check out some local music. We asked the bartender in our hotel bar, about suggestions. FIrst thing he said was "Go to Herb's and you will prob see me there when I get off shift!" Local recommendations are everything and Herb's does not disappoint. Definately stop in to Herb's while in Denver for some great local tunes!

You can only get served if your best friends with a bartender doesn't matter how much you're willing to tip. It only matters if you're friends with the bartender worst bar on the block.

These guys are the best. bartenders are top class at customer service. Music is great, best place in downtown Denver.

Want to wake up after a long night and do it all again? This is THE dive bar for you!The creepy factor is just enough to be fun (bats and scary masks hang from the ceiling), although you may have a moment of pause wondering if a monster bash will happen before the night is through. The live was top notch - soulful blues with upbeat rock mixed in, and a bar that really appreciates and promotes tipping the band. Servers were friendly and hopping, always attentive to patron needs while not suffering any fools. Drafts featured local brews and the majority of patrons are locals, adding to the feeling of having a great night with your new friend crew. Go ahead and belly up to the bar - they don't bite unless...

Accidentally left my card here... pretty normal, they'd be cool about it right? No. The bartender that spoke to me told me that he was "too busy". Found another person after that immediately went and grabbed it, showing that he was clearly just trying to prove a point. I started this review with a 1 star but as i typed i realized that i can't give a good bar a bad rating based on one poor employee. Herb's is great, but if you deal with the bearded bartender expect some difficulties.

Of all the bars we visited on our trip, this was by far our favorite. Every time we went somewhere else, we ended up leaving and coming back here. Great experience all around!
