I went to walk by this place thinking cakes? Nothing for me here. Then I thought.. Wait.. Denver. Hipster. Mayyybee.. Just maybe they'll have a gluten free snacka for me. I was not disappointed! A couple of different delicious pastries were available gf!! Yum!I ordered the gf blondie and an espresso and was very pleased. The coffee was delish and the gf blondie had a wonderful flavor and texture. Price was quite reasonable for an airport and the service was friendly and quick. Though I frequently have annoying flight situations occur in the Denver airport, I've come to be really impressed with many of their restaurants and cafes.

If you are a Denver regular and fly Southwest, you've probably spent some time in Concourse C. If you haven't been as much recently, you'll be pretty happy with some of the additions. There is quite a bit more than there used to be. The end of the west side of the concourse has a surprising number of additions and Happy Cakes is one of them.No need to get crazy here - this is a pretty run of the mill little spot (Is it a counter? A kiosk? A food court vendor in an airport?). You'll find the standard airport grab-and-go items like sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, bottled drinks... Nothing way out of the ordinary. But, I give it some credit - grab-and-go sandwiches are only $5. Good luck finding anything for $5 at SFO. Nice to have a cheaper option that isn't McDonald's. Also, for what it's worth, the west end of Concourse C also has nice views out towards the Rocky Mountains. So, if you happen to be down this way, keep that in mind. The vista on a clear morning or a sunset is worth a moment of your time.

Items Selected:Sea Salt Chocolate Chip CookieRed Velvet CupcakeCarrot Cake CupcakeCloud 8 BarOreo BarCinnamon Vanilla SconeSelf proclaimed as the first place to popularize cupcakes in Colorado and now offering a range of bars, scones, cookies, and signature flavors near gate C24 at Denver International Airport it was straight to Happy Cakes Cafe that I walked after stepping off an early flight from Las Vegas and although I wish I could say the goods changed my opinion of 'airport food' in general the fact of the matter is that the cupcakes are actually quite dreadful while other items fared relatively wellObviously not the original location, but just stocked with freshly baked goods that morning according to a clerk, it was after brief perusal that a half-dozen selections were made and taking the bags to a nearby seating area it was almost immediately on unpacking that I knew disappointment awaited, the miniature $3.75 rounds dense, heavy and ice cold.Beginning with a "scone" that eats more like a muffin than the traditional British variety before transitioning to a lightly salted cookie that featured a crisp rim and soft center the first impressive bites from Happy Cakes Cafe were presented in the form of two bars, the Oreo version a spot-on representation of cookie's famous flavor while the Cloud 8 saw butterscotch and chocolate chips married to coconut atop a crumbly graham cracker base.Moving onto the cupcakes, two of the four available selected, suffice it to say that calling either of them "two-bites" would be questionably appropriate as the average adult mouth could undoubtedly handle a whole one at a time, and although the cream cheese frosting was both as sweet and tangy as expected the cakes themselves were dense and not particularly flavorful, the carrot especially noteworthy as it lacked any real spice or bold flavor at all.

A bakery counter at the Denver airport, Concourse C for those of you delayed on yet ANOTHER southwest flight (no surprise there)I happened to crave a cookie so stopped by while waiting for my flight! Cookies are just $2 so not bad---Sea salt chocolate chip cookie: not bad, a bit hard, perhaps stale?---frosted sugar cookie: WAYYYY too sweet with an icing layer as thick as the cookie itself They also sell drinks if you aren't hungry

The vanilla cupcakes were extremely stale. I was terribly disappointed when I began to eat them on my flight. Had I still been in Concourse C I would have returned them.

Food was not that great and the employee did not want to make me what I wanted. She tried to tell my me it wasn't ready and I'd have to wait. You've been open for 40 minutes why aren't you ready to go?

I love that they sell Allegro coffee but when I went up to the counter to look at the menu, the two girls working didn't understand English well and one of them wouldn't let me look at the menu before telling me what size coffee I wanted AND pouring the cup of coffee then heating it at the steamer which can only mean that they are living in the container too long and not brewing it fresh. Get people who speak English plain and clear here if you want repeat business. They had to communicate what I was saying back and forth to each other before they finally understood. Needless to say, I walked away having just a cup of coffee because I had little faith they would fix any other drink I asked for properly.

Sooooo ... if I could I would give this place a 0. The cakes and pastries looked old and stale, which was probably a direct result of uncaring employees. The two women working the counter were extremely rude and looked like they didn't even want to be there. When asked if they had a specific pastry the older chick, Davina, very rudely said no and under her breath said something to the effect that if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else. When asked what the manger's name was and how to contact him ... she got really belligerent and shouted "his name is Andy! I'm not giving you his personal number (which I didn't ask for) so run along and lodge your little complaint!!!" Super rude! I'm sorry your like in your forties and have No other prospects or education but to work in a dead end job at an airport pastry cafe, but you don't have to take it out on the patrons. Management should reconsider who they hire before they lose any more business.

I got the brownie in DIA airport and have never tasted anything worse. For a bake shop, I had way higher expectations then what I was served. So dry and so gross.
