This place is absolutely wonderful! I can do all my shopping here for my Mediterranean cooking. And then afterwards get a delicious lamb shank for under 10 bucks with rice infused with delicious rose water and a salad and hummus you can't beat that they are awesome. Most inexpensive place around. And they have a variety of beverages that are extremely tasty this place is just absolutely wonderful I can't say much more cuz it's just all five stars.

I have noticed this place for awhile. The outside of the store has pictures of cooked Middle Eastern dishes and at last I had a chance to give it a try.The store is not very big but it seems to have everything, dry foods in bulk, meat counter, bakery and cooked food counter. It also has 3 booths for dine in.I was craving for lamb shank so I ordered one. It came with a choice of rice and two side dishes. The food was disappointing. The meat on the shank was neither tender nor flavorful. The meat was stilling sticking onto the bone. Since there were only plastic knifes available it was a small challenge to get the meat off the bone. The rice and the salad were soggy and the shank was not too flavorful. The people in the store were friendly.

Great place to get some real Halal food, small restaurant in the back. Ask for Mr. Larbi he's the man, although the last time I went they didn't have schwarma but I did have a kofta plate. They're quite busy this month getting ready for Ramadan so it's understandable. The owner and his wife were very kind and gave great service.

The market is kind of small but there is a small restaurant inside. I got a falafel combo, which came with 6 falafels with rice (plain and flavored), side salad and hummus. The lady at the counter was so nice. I had to wait for her to make hummus since they were out, and the lady kept appologizing to me for the wait. I browsed around the store while I was waiting. They also have baklava and other middle eastern sweets as well as some bread. Anyway, the food was so good for $8 and the amount was generous. I wish this place was closer to where I live.

We were passing by Denver on a road trip and wanted to get some halal food. Search on Yelp and Google recommends us to go to Sudan cafe for some unique halal food. Unfortunately when we arrived the cafe was closed (they close at 6pm on Saturday). We saw a banner at Gulzar Food Market which was just across from the cafe advertising kebabs so we thought, why not? We went inside and it was a supermarket with a butcher section, aisles of food related stuff, and then a little dining space. We ordered the lamb shank with rice and the kofta kabob with rice. The friendly guy who is the cashier is also the chef -- so we didn't really expect much! However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was delicious!! The lamb shank was tender and spiced just right and the kofta kebab was fresh and delish! -- the texture reminded me of the Albanian cevapcici (balkan sausage). The portions were huge so we have some leftovers and took them to go. They also gave us bread for free with our food. And, they have collections of unique juices and drinks in their cooler section. We got some cool apple cider and some guava juice. Overall, friendly service and delicious food!
