Golden Shanghai

I have been going To Golden Shanghái for many years. However, today I went and ordered a few lunch specials and a few extra eggrolls. The food was very poorly prepared, as well as the eggrolls were nearly raw inside the vegetables inside the eggrolls were mushy and you can still taste the dough off of the egg roll "crust." I called and explained my concerns and they completely ignored my concerns and said that their food is prepared the same all the time and I must be mistaken! I told them I had pictures and I could also take the food back and they said it wouldn't matter and that there was nothing they could do for me other than replace one dish that they made completely wrong! I will NEVER go back to Golden Shanghai as they clearly don't value their loyal customers and our complaints when they do happen. However, they are very willing to charge me $65.00 for my lunch and not make amends to the food that was very very poorly prepared! BE WARE WHEN ORDERING FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT, AS THEY DO NOT VALIE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I absolutely love ordering takeout out or delivery from this spot! Their food is not high in sodium but has great flavor. They are super nice and helpful if you have any questions about the menu. Free delivery if you are within a certain radius and only $6 if outside of that. My personal favorites are their vegetable fried rice, lo mien with beef, orange chicken which is actually spicy and amazing, and my most favorite honey walnut shrimp. It's a casual dinning spot if you choose to eat at the restaurant. No frills kinda place but lovely people.

My sister chose this venue for her daughter's birthday party, as well as for a gender reveal celebration for the new one coming. We had reservations made in advance and were given an area of the restaurant to the side where we could have our party. The restaurant in itself is quite lovely and elegant. The Asian theme and decor was tasteful and incomparable. Off the bat, as I walked in the the restaurant, it seemed very aesthetic and polished. Now on to the food...I let my family do the ordering and when it came out, I found the portions to be very large and the dishes to be cooked to perfection. We ordered white rice to go with the meal and had some soup to start off with. The waiter (who kind of seemed like he may be the owner) was extremely attentive and accommodating. He really cared about our satisfaction and enjoyment of our dishes. Our tea and water was checked regularly and refilled as necessary. All in all, we had a wonderful family celebration. We had a great time together and Golden Shanghai was the perfect choice for this party and a place for us to catch up with loved ones. I highly recommend this restaurant for dining, as well as for celebrations!

ordered from lunch menu...all food was lukewarm, even the soup (served wrong one to me). egg rolls crispy yet the inside was mushy like mashed potatoes had been spread like a frosting. the mustard to dip was yellow water . no choice in rice received fried. Guests are required to pay 3% more on the bill if paying by credit cards.

Had a fave Chinese restaurant when I lived in Lakewood but that is too far now. It takes a while to find a good one so was thrilled when a friend suggested Golden Shanghai. Lots to choose from. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. I always order carry-out but it has a cozy seating area as well.

My meal at Golden Shanghai was so tasty! Hard to decide which dish was my favorite - the Mongolian beef dish is way up there as one of my favorites. The service was impeccable, the dishes were healthy and the place was very clean. This seems to be a hidden gem......the owner (31st of DEC '24) made a point of chatting with us. This will become my "go to" place for a wonderful meal and time. Best Asian food I've had in a long time.

This spot is a gem! We've been going here for years, portions are large and you can't go wrong with their orange chicken, lo Mien or hot and sour soup. New management is wonderful and friendly. Ambiance is great.

This restaurant has new owners or management. It certainly does not live up to the quality of food provided by the prior owners. Had lunch there this week. The food was bland and tasteless. The egg drop soup tasted like water with no flavor. My friend had an egg roll with her order, and it was mushy inside and didn't appear to have any vegetables inside. My iced tea tasted like soap, so they brought me a diet Coke in a can. I was very disappointed. I won't go there again.

We've eaten there once and taken out once since ownership has changed.Seems that a couple now owns it and they're attitude, friendly service and food are all top of the line. They are also adding a sushi bar. Good spot!

We went there for the second time in a week because my father likes the food. Each time the service was sub par. The first time, the waiter sat at a table on his phone and we had to flag him down when we needed something. Today with a different waiter, I had to ask for a spoon three times before we got one. The food came out one dish at a time with almost 10 minutes between the first and last dish being served.
