Decided to stop by to see if Gennaro's was open since it's been closed since January. Now under new ownership. Our bartender told us Gennaro's is the same in name and they have kept some of the Italian recipes for the few selections on their menu. Decided to try a new item as well as an old. The spinach artichoke was piping hot. Unfortunately the chips were stale. The spaghetti with meatballs was full of flavor and a plentiful portion to share with a friend. We added 2 meatballs to the nice, spicy marinara sauce and spaghetti. Very reasonably priced at $11 and $3 to add meatballs.

We LOVE Gennaro's! They've been around for as long as I can remember - I've lived here all my life. This was my dad's favorite hangout. I am happy that, with so many of the small local bars closing (Covid) , Gennaro's has hung in there and is still in business after over 60 years!! The Calzones are GINORMOUS and DELICIOUS! They literally cover the plate! I have leftovers for days! The Spicy Bloody Mary's are awesome, the ambience is friendly and neighborhood-bar like. There are two areas to sit in. If you prefer a more family friendly, Italian restaurant atmosphere, you can sit on the other side of the restaurant, away from the bar. Happy hour here is WONDERFUL! They give tokens for your next round. Gennaro's has inspired happy memories of giving all of my saved up tokens to Dad for Christmas, just a couple of years before he died. He used them all!

Best local dive bar on the edge of the Denver line. They offer late night slices of pizza that you can add toppings of your choice. The slices are so massive i had to ask them to cut it in half to make it easier to eat. They also have the best happy hour deals that last basically ALL day including the weekends! Weekday happy hour runs from 11am - 6pm EVERYDAY and 9pm to close Monday - Thursday. Weekend happy hour is 11pm - close. There is also a small stage for live music on Saturday nights 9pm - 12am. They also offer a space with some free pool tables to enjoy. I would highly recommend checking out this local bar/restaurant.

This used to be one of my favorite places, I've recommended it to tons of people. No more. If you know the Gennaro's of old you're not going to like it anymore. The new menu is terrible, it's not really an Italian place anymore. My husband and I went there last night to get a quick slice and a beer. The slice we got is literally the worst pizza I've ever had any time, anywhere. It's significantly smaller than the slices used to be, the crust was as dry as a cracker and as thick as a crouton. There was no sauce on it at all, the cheese had been melted on it at some point but had gotten that cold and glossy reheated look to it. It literally crunched. We had crunchy pizza. We finished it because we were starving, but will never go again. Farewell to an old favorite.

I would of never guessed this place has some descent Italian bar. When you first come in, you come into what looks like the local dive bar. The other part looks like it was the actual restaurant, but I believe since COVID-19 the restaurant part for dine in was suffering. They did still have some booths and a pool table that took a good bit on the dining part. The service was good, and the kitchen was semi-open so you could talk to the chef if needed. It was just us in that area of the restaurant. The starter caprese salad was really good. The pesto and aged balsamic was a really nice touch. The main, we got a few things. The sausage and peppers with fettuccini pasta was really good. It looked like meatballs, but it was sausage. It was nicely seasoned. We got a margherita pizza with sausage as well. It was definitely a cheese lover pizza. If we lived closer, I would order from them again.

A moderate alternative to expensive dining. A bar with decent food. Service is friendly and generous. Ambiance, well it's an old bar and restaurant, don't expect everything.

The new "temporary" menu is not the old menu, nor any Italian food. They posted it, got roasted, and blocked people on Facebook. Beware before you go thinking the old Gennaro's reopened.
