Some pretty negative reviews so far, but mine is based more on the professionalism and the awesomeness of the staff. We were headed to a Rockies game and had some time to kill - like 30 minutes. We popped into McGregor Square for some slightly less than ballpark priced libations and snacks. I don't understand the fuss. It's a food court style restaurant. Food was fine. What impressed me was how professional and kind the gentleman behind the counter was. My kiddo asked for a water, and he offered up a CapriSun. Kid happy. Happy kid = happy dad. Win.

My BBQ buddy alerted me about this new place. So new, in fact, that they don't have any information on Yelp or a real website, just a Facebook page with very little information. I guess it opened in early April. We went on a Saturday for lunch, and for the hour or so we were there, I think we were the only customers of Gayle's Texas BBQ.The one guy working there was very friendly, and gave us a sample of their smoked brisket to greet us. I ordered a Billy the Kid sampler, which had brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño sausage. I got a side of fried okra, because I just never get enough okra in my life. They sell pop in cans, but we were much more interested in the Milepost Zero beer wall. With my sampler platter came two sauces, a pretty average sweet sauce, and something unique they make - a white sauce. It's not Alabama style white BBQ sauce, but something different, with a tang of horseradish. The brisket was OK - better than any I've made, but nowhere near as good as Post Oak or Wayne's. I liked it more with the white sauce. The sausages were really good. They were firm, with just the right level of spicy. And the pulled pork was very solid. A piece of cornbread filled out the plate; it was fine, but nothing to write home about. Oh, and the okra was run-of-the-mill breaded and fried okra, but there's only so much you can do with fried okra, so that was fine.I think I'd say the pulled pork was tied for "best" with the sausage. I'd eat either of those again. I expected the brisket to be their best item, especially with "Texas BBQ" in the name, but it wasn't. Maybe some other day would be different.Gayle's is some sort of offshoot of the Adobo restaurant, bar, and food truck. My credit card was charged from "tst**tst* adobo at fir". I wish them the best. Milepost Zero has a LOT of turnover in their food stalls, with most places lasting less than a year there. I'd like to return in a few weeks to try some different things on the menu.

Never trust a bbq joint that doesn't weigh out your food in front of you. I ordered a full pound of the pulled pork. A man sat down next to next to me, I asked if he had ordered the same. He told me he had ordered a quarter pound. Our plates were identical.$34 for what was essentially a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Highway robbery. And of course the 5% mandatory service fee was included! On food I paid for but didn't receive. The food is fine if you actually get what you paid for.

Luckily the only meat I ordered was the tiny sausage for $8.25. No "green chili" flavor whatsoever, and dry as the desert heat. Horrible.

This might be the worst BBQ, I've ever had. As bad as Dickie's is, this is somehow worse. Do not go here!Their ordering system is horrible and the one employee who was there had no idea how to help. The brisket was chewy, as if they got a horrible grade of brisket or they never got it up to the temp needed for a brisket. The sausage was mealy and cold, with little flavor. The ribs were so tough they were like jerky. The best part was the fries, but they had a weird sweet and salty seasoning. They should be embarrassed to even market that they are central TX BBQ.

The brisket is well smoked. Fried okra is nicely cooked. Try the hot bbq sauce. The pinto beans are OK. The beef cake mac and cheese is a huge meal and is very tasty. The guy at the counter was very friendly. The food court was a nice place.

This place is a gem. We ordered a half pound of brisket on a whim while testing out all the delicious food in the hall. It was succulent, smokey and had an excellent bark. So good I went back two days later with a groups of friends.
