Flatz Restaurant and Lounge

The food was good. The service was 4/5 . There was one waiter for the whole bar and table area. He handle it well. The crème brûlée was very good !

This is a review for the Mother's Day brunch- the restaurant is lovely and modern. The staff was friendly. It was clean and there was plenty of parking. I was looking forward to a meal that I didn't have to cook. $75 per adult and $30 for kids (10 and under) When booking my reservation I was told to "check out the menu on our Facebook page" so I did. A lot of the things listed weren't available the day of. The menu showed prime rib at the carving station but instead it was skirt steak and ham. The menu showed potatoes au gratin but the instead it was garlic mashed potatoes. The ham was a little dry but with the pepper jelly provided it was my favorite thing offered that day. The scrambled eggs were in a large dish and it was one big lump of egg. I couldn't cut the chicken. My kids go-to is waffles- neither of them finished their waffles. The dessert room/area was ok- but I was hoping for more variety. My coffee was never refilled.. I had to ask for water refills for the kids. For $75 per adult I expected this brunch to be completely over the top. I expected to leave stuffedI was underwhelmed and severely disappointed. The quality just wasn't there.

A breakfast and a light dinner during a recent stay at the host hotel. Both were good. Just fine. Dinner was a solid Caesar wedge salad...a good dressing croutons and shaved parm. The stuffed potato soup was good...thick, rich flavorful with bacon and cheese on top, Good service. The breakfast was a simple buffet. Option of a small made to order omelette was nice...but the rest of the small spread was average at best. The support service was attentive. A tad pricey for the meals, but not a bad option if you stay at the hotel.

Food is mediocre and the people that work here, are beyond ignorant. Post Covid, everything associated with the Marriott/Bonvoy name, is completely in the toilet.

Wow this was the worst brunch I have ever been to. They eliminated their sea food bar and I literally paid $20 a plate for an omelette bar that was out of nearly everything. I expected much better from a renaissance property. Very sad and definitely will not be back.

This reviews for the room service at the hotel. I actually didn't set foot in the restaurant. I ordered room service when staying at the Renaissance for one night. I ordered a market salad without dressing and I added steak. The steak was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium). The ingredients in the salad were fresh and tasted divine together. The Chardonnay I ordered was average. I would definitely recommend the food at this restaurant!

When it comes to 5 star reviews, I only give them out to place that I feel went above and beyond and this was certainly the case here. The service was excellent from the time we sat down to the moment we left. The food was absolutely divine. I ordered the pork chop dinner and was stunned as how good it was. Thick, meaty, cooked perfectly, and was placed upon a fresh bed of crisp, fresh vegetables in a thick, rich, velvety cream sauce that made my taste buds feel as though they were tasting real food for the first time. The above and beyond is when the manager himself came out to our table and gave us a free dessert (due to a timing error causing our food to be a few minutes late) Great staff, great food, great restaurant.

Our server - Josh - was fabulous!!! The food was EXCELLENT! Service with a smile and we felt like family!! everything we ordered was YUMMY. Who would have thought Brussel sprouts would be so tasty!! Server to chef -- FABULOUS!!!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and ate at the Flatz restaurant either for breakfast or dinner almost every day for the entirety of my stay.Pros:Staff is nice Cons:Food is very subpar (and I'm not that hard to please).They got my order wrong several times.Long wait (even when it wasn't crowded).Very disappointed in the quality of their food and the fact the cooks can't get basic orders correct.It's a shame, because this is a very nice hotel, but the food is just terrible (and I tried just about everything on the menu).The best items they have are desserts- the caramel cheesecake (which they forgot the caramel topping on the 2nd time I ordered this- one of the main ingredients and selling points of the caramel cheesecake), and creme brule is good as well.

Very, very slow service. Food was mediocre. I was staying in the attached hotel for a work trip and decided to eat here. I ordered a salad and a side of fries for my dinner. I waited roughly 40 minutes for my food. When the food finally arrived, the fries were cold. The salad was a basic Caesar salad (no protein added, so nothing to cook) so not sure why it took so long. The salad was a wedge salad, which I had never seen for a Caesar salad before. I did not care for it as the dressing was not really distributed throughout the lettuce. Additionally, I was dining alone so it's not like they held my food back while waiting for the rest of my party's food to be ready. I was also charged for the wrong size of wine, which ended up putting me over my per diem. My food was priced fairly, but the appetizers, sandwiches and entrees were all pretty expensive ($14 cauliflower appetizer, $20 sandwich). My waiter was nice, which is why I'm giving 2 stars.
