Firehouse on the Run delivers a masterclass in barbecue craftsmanship, effortlessly blending tradition, innovation, and quality. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting ambiance signals that you're about to experience something extraordinary. The brisket is a true triumph--impossibly tender with a perfectly rendered fat cap that imparts a buttery richness to each bite. Its smoky depth is balanced by a subtle sweetness, showcasing the pitmaster's dedication to precision and flavor. The smoked chicken is equally impressive. Expertly cooked, it retains its moisture while absorbing just the right amount of smoke to enhance the natural flavors of the meat. It's a dish that exemplifies simplicity executed to perfection. Then there's the Bobenero sauce--a bold, fiery concoction that elevates everything it touches. The heat is pronounced but never overpowering, leaving room for a complex, layered profile that enhances rather than masks the flavors of the meat. This sauce alone is worth the visit and could easily become a cult favorite. The service is impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who ensure your experience is seamless. Firehouse on the Run is a shining example of how barbecue can transcend the ordinary and become an unforgettable culinary journey.A well-earned five stars for an establishment that sets the gold standard in barbecue. Move over Kansas City, you've been replaced.

If you're looking to spend $40+ on some good quality bbq, try some place else. The poor lady running the spot was overwhelmed with not enough help for a small lunch run of 3-5 people. They didn't have lids for containers that fit and just seemed to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They have set pricing so if you want just a half rack of ribs and no sides, prepare to have them try to figure out how to price that (and fail) so be prepared to order exactly how their menu lists. Want 1/4 of brisket instead of 1/2? They can do some back door pricing to charge you for a sandwich and which is really only 3$ less than the 1/2 of just meat. That honestly isn't a big deal but the quality of the bbq is very low. The brisket was extremely over cooked and fatty (untrimmed) and while I asked for it sliced like traditional brisket, the slices pretty much mush and you could have told me it was chopped brisket and I would believe you. The ribs have good flavor but the sausage was cold so it's clear a lot of this meat is reheated and not fresh. The spot is in a gas station which usually leads to greatness in my experience but the quality of this bbq is very low for the price you pay. Get a drink from the bottles they have available since their fountain drinks dispenser is very obviously never cleaned and I'm sure the lines haven't been cleaned in years. Lets not even check the ice machine!Just get gas and move on to a better local bbq option.

2 In for dinner on a Friday PM to eat in.VERY disappointed this time.Prices are REALLY HIGH.Ordered a full rack if ribs.Looked like a SMALL rack of St. Louis cut.2 sides of coleslaw and 2 drinks.$ 41.43The ribs were stacked on a table behind the counter.I specifically ask the lady if the ribs were hot because I don't like cold ribs. She answered they were. WRONG!!!There is a skin on the back of ribs that needs to be removedbefore cooking. They left it on.Ribs were over cooked and dry.Too Bad..

Hole in the wall bbq spot in the forest. Being new in town, I'm glad I stumbled across this joint. The restaurant shares its space with a gas station. I was greeted by a friendly staff which was a great first impression. I got the 3-meat platter which came with 2 sides. I opted for the brisket, ribs, and because they were out of chicken and hot links, I went with the pulled pork. My sides were the green beans with bacon and bbq beans. This was plenty of food which I can carry over to my next meal. The food was and I'll be coming through again. Oh, I got two sauces (out of four) to choose from and I went with the Black Forest Burnt Onion and Sweet & Tangy. Both were good , but I preferred the sweet and tangy. Drinks consisted of fountain sodas and a wide variety of canned and bottled drinks. Sweet tea machines are suppose to be coming in the near future. All in all, good food and staff.

Went for dinner last night & we were not disappointed!! My husband has been in and raved about it, but it is such an unassuming hole in the wall that you wouldn't think the food is as incredible as it was. We got pulled pork sandwiches, a sausage sandwich, and a full rack. First off, we almost NEVER order ribs out because my husband makes the BEST ribs in the world, and every time we've ever ordered ribs they're disappointing- just kind of tough and covered in bbq sauce. The girl behind the counter (who was the sweetest person) said the ribs were falling off the bone. They absolutely were! We didn't even have bbq sauce with it and they were incredible! My youngest son said as he was taking his last bite "oh sad! It's over. I'm so full but I could eat that all over again".

It was not good today. I've been going to this place for many many years. It seems like the recipes, sauces, meat, and/or cooking styles have changed in the past few months/year. I used to think it was one of the best bbq places to go to. At the register, it seemed like everything was nickeled and dimed ("dollar"ed in today's context) from an upgrade to 2 meats of brisket in the family meal #1 to getting bread included in the meal. I believe it used to be included a while ago. The best part of the meal was the outdoor seating was a nice change from before and the Liter of soda.

I drove up to Firehouse based on the recommendation of a co-worker. This place is in the back of a conoco gas station off the beaten path, personally I think it's a cool location. There is a nice size outdoor patio and today I lucked out because there was a band of guys playing tunes. So for me, the atmosphere was great. Now to the service..They were busy, but it was in line and had my food in hand within 10 minutes of walking in the door. Bear in mind, the place is busy, but is small, so be patient if you decide to hit this place. All younger folks manning the operation, but they were friendly and I feel the service was great. Food!! Here we go..I ordered a 2 meat plate with 2 sides.I got a sliced brat, brisket and western beans with brisket in it and bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. The meats were juicy and tender, and I dipped them in house bbq as I ate. The meats were on point except for one thing, lack of smokiness, the brisket in particular completely lacked smoke.. I could smell it in the air from their smoker, somehow the brisket lacked it. The beans were ok, but the brisket should normally add smoke flavor and this they were bland. My favorite thing were the bacon wrapped jalapeños.Spicy with the bacon and some cream cheese filling hit the spot!I say give it a shot on your own to make up your mind. Their reviews have been mixed lately. They need to up the game on smoke and then they are on point.

Do not make the drive for this spot. I was having a cordial conversation with the Owner as he was packing my food, hit the 25% tip, and wish I realized he packed this highly rated bbq food before making the drive back home
