Fat Shack

Ordered from DoorDash out of (literal) morbid curiosity. Got the 9" (regular) veggie fat sandwich -- which is the only vegetarian sandwich option.It's an indulgence for sure, at ~1630 calories (it comes with a sodium warning, too!). I don't think I would have enjoyed it if I hadn't also ordered mango habanero sauce on the side. Although I chose buffalo sauce and jalapeno mustard on the sandwich itself, it needed more to cut through all the heavy, fried elements.I was disappointed in the vegetables (yes, I realize that's not the point of the sandwich). I can think of many more inspired options that would be better than a few slices of tomato and soggy lettuce (both of which had been ejected from the sandwich -- poor engineering). But the other fillings and bread were pretty good, and the sandwich looks pretty much as advertised.It's definitely food for the non-sober :) Now I'm going to go pass out.

Ok here's the scenario...it's late at night, you're starving and you're sick and tired of listening to your cardiologist. You need a sandwich, and not just any sandwich. You need one that when you explain it no one will understand. This is when you need to go to Fat Shack.Everything on the menu is insane. Sandwiches with ingredients predominantly cooked in a deep fryer. French fries, mac and cheese, bacon and chicken fingers on a sub roll? Is that what you need? They've got you. There are a number of options for this sort of thing on the menu, so take your time, consider the implications of each offering, and make your choice. You're gonna love it and hate it at the same time. It's an experience. Also available, fried oreos, fried twinkies, and a variety of other fried items that again, will enrage anyone who cares about you and is concerned for your health. Give it a shot at least once.

I ordered wings through Uber eats. I have never seen wings so small. I think they were grossly overpriced for their size.

Whoever was behind the counter was running the whole show, and had an amazing attitude the whole time. I wish I caught his name because he made that much of an impact. I was really nervous to try one of their sandwiches but it turned out to be amazing! The fries are super crispy; perfect! All the food is fresh cook to order. It's a great place to visit!

I'm from New Jersey and went to Rutgers University in New Brunswick, the home of the fat sandwich, before Shark Tank was even a TV show. If you are a fellow Rutgers alum and you need that fat sandwich fix after a drink or two, this place will do the trick.That being said, can it match the grease trucks on the Rutgers campus on College Ave? No, it cannot. I've tried two sandwiches and found them both light on the cheesesteak and other ingredients. They're generous with sauce if you ask for it and their appetizers are pretty good, but the sandwiches fall a bit short of the real deal from the grease trucks.

This is not right. I called and complained that my burger was very rare. The girl told me that's the way they make them...I go in there a lot to order the burgers and they are not rare like this. To even try and justify it...now she did refund me for the burger but I tried to tell her that they need to put something on the menu if the burgers are to be cooked this way. I remember not that long ago I ordered a burger from there and the burger was kinda burnt lol but I would just want them to fix this cause it could be a potential health concern.So update I received a message on Facebook from Gage who is the owner of this location. He expressed extreme concern over this and assured me that the problem will be corrected. I haven't had many issues here everyone here is pretty cool so I won't hold it against them but wanted this to be addressed for health and safety concerns.

I just got milkshakes delivered via DoorDash and the DoorDash was really fast there's no way they could've gone bad. Both of milkshakes were sour like the milk had expired. Don't think I'll order again

That fat doobie with the bbq and honey jalapeño sauce is amazing. 10/10. All of the employees were so kind and gave me great recommendations. I had a great time.

I've been going to Fat Shack for years and stopped going because of poor customer service (understandably they work very late). I just went tonight and Vee was sooooo incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I will definitely be back when Vee is working. Food was delicious as well. The restaurant was very clean :) great crew tonight overall!

I was visiting from WI, the food was awesome for only one guy workin, 2 orders to go and my friends with fat burrito, It turned out he had non verbal disability and hearing his manager tell him his disability is fake set me off.. we only found out after everyone left and tapped me on the shoulder outside typing on his phone
