The staff was very friendly, helpful and patient (we had a lot of questions!). The restaurant was clean and decorated cute! We came in on a Friday night and cannot figure out why they weren't busier!The chips and salsa were really good! The salsa had a little spice (not spicy) which was welcomed and difficult to find here. The margaritas were both tasty and well made, I can agree with the other comments that they were pricey but they were good sized and have happy hour deals we intend to check out in the future. We both had crispy chile rellenos and enchiladas (one chicken and one beef) the crispy chile rellenos are new to us... we have only had soft in the past. They were like mini chimichangas and pretty good. The enchiladas were tasty too and were generously filled with meat! Flauta was crispy and tasted great. The best bite of the night though was the carnitas burrito, seriously the next we have had in CO and we have looked! We will definitely be back and are happy to find such a great place so close to us... you need to stop in!!

Salsa was perfectly spicy. Service was awesome! I had the chicken chimichanga and husband had the pork Colorado burrito. Chicken wasn't dry but also wasn't so moist that the chimichanga was moist. Portions were great and prices were fair. Will definitely be back!

It has been years I stopped by El MesonOur little politico group went probably almost 2x a week.The food was always exceptional,the service excellent.I was the general vicinity, so I popped in to order some items for a Cinco de Mayo, and I figured I awake so old memories Not surprising some of the staff remembered me. As i was seated, my order was quickly taken, and I was served chips and salsa... free. Excellent, I ordered lunch combination #2, beef taco, beef burrito with Mexican rice with crema. It arrived quickly and was delicious, with a flash of wonderful memories.Needless to say, I will return soon. Highly recommended

Woof. Stopped in for lunch only because I had a meeting nearby, was short on time and wanted Mexican. Mistake #1, didn't yelp it. Mistake #2, at 11:45 on a Friday there were only 2 people in the restaurant and I ate anyway.Decor was nice enough, clean. The gentleman who was acting as host and waiter was very friendly (owner?). I ordered the 2 crispy relleno lunch combo for $10.75 I think. When it was served what I saw were 2 'rellenos' that looked like burnt egg roles served in some sort of green goop with runny refried beans and dry Spanish style rice. The rellenos were obviously premade/purchased, frozen and fried and well, not good. The rice and beans didn't improve things. Bummer

Not impressed. Both entrees were lack luster. Queso was disappointing at best. Only one basket of chips with salsa, they charge for a refill of chips and salsa....the staple of a Mexican restaurant. We gave it a try but would never go back.

Smells like they douse the place in Lavender Fabuloso when you walk in the door. Carpets are filthy dirty. That's the first impression.The food...we ordered two meals. The fajitas come out sizzling on a cast iron skillet with sautéed bell pepper and onions, all with a shiny sheen of oil. No big deal, many fajitas are a bit oily. Time to eat...bland, flavorless fajitas accompanied with rice and beans that are meh...just okay.Our other entree was pork carnitas...slow cooked and because of that, a bit more acceptable in terms of taste.Anyway, the food is missing the flavor one would anticipate.

We recently moved to the area, this place is very close to our home. We went for a late lunch today. We were very hopeful that it was going to be great. Well...... not so much. The service was really good. The margaritas were good, but not $12.75 each good! Waaay too expensive! I ordered the Chile relleno/enchilada combo and my husband ordered the Mexican hamburger. He moderately enjoyed it. My plate was not good at all. The relleno tasted old and stale and the enchilada was mediocre at best. Too bad. It was going to be our go to Mexican restaurant.

Well unfortunately I had to delete the 5 star review I had on here from 2 years ago.You no longer get what you pay for, it is no longer authentic. I paid over $14 for the guacamole that use to be made in from of you for it to come looking and tasting like the garbage guac the grocery store sells. You can't even spice up yourself to make it edible. I'm so disappointed, I went out of my way because they use to have the best guac in town. I advise to steer clear. I know I won't be back.

Great by location & well designed that was very comfortable! Margarita were very expensive!

Good "hole in wall" spot...good quality, authentic flavors. Our new go-to spot for takeout. Give it a try.
