Duke's Steakhouse

Looking for a place with some good Carne to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Heard good things about Duke's. Happy to say it wasn't an mis-steak. Everything was cooked well and the quality was excellent. Service could have been a bit better but not bad enough to lose a star.

If you like Newsmax and froze veggies served with your entree, this place is for you! I stopped here on a week night specifically in search of a prime rib. The Yelp reviews pointed me here and really wasn't sure what to expect with it being in Castle Rock.Welp, not great. The place was packed with what I assume to be locals and I found a spot at the bar to eat.....what I hoped to be in peace but that didn't happen. A couple of the regulars kept trying to chat it up but really I just wanted to order the prime rib, eat and leave. Price to value, you can't beat the Prime Rib special. It comes with a side and veggies but like I said before, the veggies tasted like some Great Value crap. But it came out quick and the meat was cooked how I wanted. Definitely not my vibe but seems to be par for the course if you know the reputation of CR!

Kind of mediocre overall on a Sunday night. We found an empty four top in the bar, sat, and waited. About the time I was going to walk over to the restaurant side to see if service might've been faster over there, a waitress finally came by to help. For the most part moving forward, she wasn't the reason for the lower review than I usually give. Drinks were refilled, and offers were regularly made for more wine or anything else.My wife and I both had the sirloins, and even though they were cooked fine, they were both rather dry and tasteless. My wife always says this about their sirloin, but I found it worse on this night than usual. Mashed potatoes are the star for me. Mixed veggies don't taste like much, and my wife just got broccoli instead. Side Caesar salads, which are usually impressive, didn't impress me on this night.One daughter got her regular chicken Parmesan, which she again liked. The other got the pork chop for the first time and liked it. Guessing she'll get it again. And of course the French onion soup.The big issue on this night was how slow everything was coming from the kitchen. Long wait for soup and salads, and a really long wait for food. Borderline comically long. Not sure if they were short staffed -- they weren't that busy at 7:00 on a Sunday night -- but it really threw off the whole meal.I'm sure we'll be back, as there just aren't that many decent restaurants around; however, with prices like these, maybe it'll be awhile.

Duke's is your classic steakhouse. We went on a Sunday for my wife's birthday, there were 5 of us & everything was perfect!!! From the apps of French Onion soup to my Chicken Fried Steak! Both my wife & I LOVE Chicken Fried Steak, so we both got that (boring, huh) & it was FANTASTIC!! The steak was cooked to perfection, the white gravy was hot & delicious!! Everyone else mopped up their meals as well! For dessert, even though we were stuffed, we had to try their desserts. We all split the Lava Cake with vanilla ice cream and a Blueberry Cheesecake that was out of this world good!!I definitely recommend Duke's anytime and for any occasion! The atmosphere was great, the service fantastic & the prices very reasonable!!! Hit it up!!

A nice feel to the place, kinda like an English Pub in the 40's. Staff was nice but busy as she was alone in the bar so it took awhile to get refills on drinks. The food was okay but it reminded me of the type of food you would find at the upscale buffets in the 80's and 90's. The crowd was older which makes sense because that is who it feels they are appealing to. Overall not a terrible place to meet for drinks or lunch if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

Happy hour is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. We arrived around 4:00 p.m. and enjoyed some $2 off happy hour appetizers. They also offered drink specials. It wasn't crowded on a Wednesday so we decided to have dinner in the bar area.The pork chops were delicious. The burger was a little overcooked but still yummy. And everyone always loves a French dip. Our server was very friendly. Look forward to coming back again.

My husband, in-laws, and I recently went here for a birthday dinner. Restaurant had a very nice patio for us to enjoy the good weather. Our server was Heath and he was great! Super friendly and attentive. Food came out great and tasty. We ended up enjoying ourselves so much we came back for their brunch on Sunday! We had Heath again and he continued to provide a great service for us. Next time we're in Denver, we'll be going back!

I really really wanted to have that steakhouse experience here. If they would tweak just a few things, just a few small things, it would elevate the place above par. It has a feel of an old timey 'steak' house that has been there forever, and has done things the same way, forever. Good bones, but not great execution.

Bummer. Was there last night and 3 weeks ago. Ordered it he same food (wedge salad, large ribeye with mashed potatoes).The first time it was really good - portion size, flavor, tenderness. Yummy.But this time the steak flavor was just ok, and the meat was full of gristle, so ha d to cut, chew and swallow. Different circumstances I would have sent it back, it was that disappointing. The salad was lackluster compared to my previous visit.The service was quite good on both visits and the atmosphere is pretty nice.So when it's a big hit, it's really wonderful- when it's not, it's kinda sorta 'awful'. Bummer cause I thought I'd found my new go to steak place. I'll try it again but will be prepared to order something else if it's not great.

This was probably the best Ribeye I've ever had in my life!!! I would recommend you try it out. The waitress we had was pretty slow on refills but other than that it was an awesome experience. I will definitely come back.
