D'Toque Food Truck

As a former Los Angeles resident where the Mexican and Central American cuisine are hard to beat...these are some of the best pupusas I've ever had. Their maduros are also a perfect sweet treat that pairs perfectly with the cheesy goodness. My favorite is the revuelta but you can't really go wrong with your order.

I had high hopes for this food truck, since I love me a good pupusa, but they didn't quite hit the mark. They were supposed to have come to our campus twice previously but did not, so when they finally were out there I wanted to give them a try. They were not very busy at first but then had a big rush, so that might have had something to do with it, but that said I waited 40 minutes for two standard pupusas. They were good-sized and flavorful, but the filling (I got the mixed pork, beans and cheese combo) was ground together, whereas I expected shredded or cubed meat and whole beans. Sometimes pupusas are overly cheesy, and these were not, which is a good thing. But the spicy cabbage slaw was more vinegary than anything, and kind of ran together with the tangy tomato sauce. These weren't bad, but I've had better at other sit-down restaurants around town and in other countries, and the wait was definitely an issue.

Went to a brewery and they had D'Toque there. None the less this was fantastic food! If I stumble upon this food truck again I will surely come back!

Some of the best food we've had while in town for a wedding. We just stopped for a snack and had the Queso Frito and Casamiento which were both delicious. loved the pink sauce! We will definitely remember this place next time we're in town and would love to try some of the other food!
