I saw this place had some of the highest reviews so I had to come check it out for myself. The decorations inside were beautiful, and I thought it was so cool how they have a space in the back for events like variety shows and yoga. Our sever was very friendly and personable. I'm not sure if I was more looking forward to the food or the sake, but they both ended up being quite pleasant. My favorite dish was the baja shrimp bao, and my favorite drinks were probably the #6006 which had a nice subtle fruity notes, and the Bees Knees which is deliciously honey and lavender-infused. I definitely would come back next time I'm in Denver.

Amazing!! Small place so make sure you make reservations ahead of time. We did but were ahead of schedule so we were lucky enough to sit at the bar. I sat next to the service station and DAMN, do they work their butt off! I wish they would think of putting a service bar in the comedy lounge. A full restaurant with a venue for 65 and one small bar, it seems overwhelming. The food was great! What was most evident and most impressive was the staff, manager, expo chef all worked together!! Sitting at the end, I heard it all and they kept checking in with each other on a busy Saturday night. No one was sitting around with their arms crossed not doing anything. It was clearly a team effort which I admire!Sake was great, I recommend a flight. They do offer to go as well.

Colorado Sake Co is truly a gem somewhat hidden and unknown in Denver. Although it may be unassuming from the outside, once inside, it is clear that a lot of thought was put into the layout and decorations. There is the room that is seen once entering the restaurant but there is also a back room. I'm not sure if the back room is used for private events only or also for extra seating but it looked cool and moody back in there. The food is decently priced for small dishes and tastes pretty great. However, if you have quite a large stomach like I do, it may be a good idea to either head there with a snack prior or expect to eat something else afterwards or you'll likely end up with a hefty bill. Now for the sake! They have a wide range of different kinds of sake from sweet to dry to different kind of infusions that are harder to find elsewhere. We tried all three and I enjoyed them all. They definitely know what they are doing regarding their sake. I highly recommend heading to Colorado Sake Co for a small plate or two and to enjoy sake with good company!

I can't wait to come back. 10/10The Nitamago eggs were INSANE. The one thing we would change about it was the temperature. They were very chilled. Set out for a few minutes or room temp would've made them perfect. Aside from that it was still our favorite item of the night! You will not be disappointed. It also comes in qty of 4, we accidentally ate before we got a picture. The wings were our least favorite. They were disappointing. They were over cooked, dry and I'm sure the flavor was good but I'm guessing absorbed into the cook and it got lost. The takoyaki was phenomenal! Amazing flavor. Perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey chewy on the inside. One of the best orders of takoyaki I've had in Denver tbh. The Red Devil roll was also insanely good. So many unique and unexpected flavors but I would absolutely recommend this and order it again! I've never been to a Sake Brewery type place before. Until this day I didn't even know it existed. So fun (if you're a sake person) even if you're not. My gf ordered a sake glass for herself and she doesn't usually like sake. They have so many fun and unique flavors to choose from. The service was great, and the ambiance was so fun for a date night. It was one of the best date nights I've been on in a minute! I highly recommend this place for a fun night out or date night!

Colorado Sake is still one of my favorite spots in Denver! It's so unique. A whole spot dedicated to sake? Their rotating flavors can be hit or miss, but they're always high quality, and that's what flights are for. You can even order bottles to-go. My favorite flavors are Blueberry Hibiscus and Horchata when they're available. They have Japanese food which is pretty good, as well as live burlesque and comedy shows in the back. Service is great. Come on Tuesdays when half flights are half off!

I certainly wasn't impressed with awe to the degree where the ratings by others tell the story but last night's quick dine in experience for a few to several small plates I shared with my daughter at Colorado Sake Co was a fun one so I must write.I like the location. It's located at the upper north end of the RiNo neighborhood. For me (I live in north DTC), it's an easy hop onto I-25 to Downing exit. From there, I simply stayed on Downing to get to 36th and Downing to get to the restaurant.Unlike the photos uploaded by others on Yelp, I found this place to be a very small/quaint restaurant. During the peak dinner time on a typical weekend will require a reservation. For us though, it was a little past 5:30pm on a Tuesday night, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were the FIRST customer. We grabbed one of the high-top tables. Simply a perfect size table for two.Their menu is a bit small; they definitely can add a few more items to it for more variety was the first impression of it but after all, this is a place to mainly have some sake as the restaurant's name says it all; that's the main act of the whole place so with that in mind, the foods they serve are simply its accompaniments? More simply put it, you expect to see the typical style of a typical "izakaya" offers. Hopefully that explains well.We didn't order any alcoholic beverages but my daughter (who doesn't drink) ordered the Lavender Lemonade (non-alc) and I got me the green tea. Whereas the green tea was the average one, The Lavender Lemonade was very tasty and refreshing. And it wasn't too sweet either. If you are a non-drinker, I highly recommend this drink. We needed to have some zensai (the Japanese word for starters or appetizers (i.e. the small dishes you eat before the main course). It is similar to "antipasto" in Italian food, or "hors d'oeuvres" for French food; it's a little Japanese lesson here!!!) before we would order anything main. We got us the edamame, the sunomono and the miso carrot to start our night. They were not super impressive and yet good enough to entertain our palates to be ready for something more extraordinary. So far so good! Before I go into the main, I must say that the staff are very welcoming and friendly here. For our main, we got us the Seared Tuna (3pc), the Beet Cured Salmon (3pc), the Jalapeno Yellowtail (3pc), and last but not least, the Spicy Salmon Roll (except the salmon roll, everything was sashimi so we got us a bowl of rice to enjoy the 3 sashimis.) Our #1 favorite based on the presentation and the quality was definitely the Beet Cured Salmon. Our second favorite was the Yellowtail. You can't go wrong with Yellowtail that is soaked in ponzu sauce, right? The Spicy Salmon Roll comes in the third place although it wasn't spicy at all. The way the Seared Tuna was aburi'd (seared) appeared to have achieve the perfection and yet the quality (somehow) failed to impress me/us. It wasn't bad just so you know.I almost concluded this review of mine without mentioning the interior of the restaurant. The origami decorations on the ceiling is quite impressive. The wall at the bar has sakura motif intricately placed between the wooden letters to show what the drink items they serve at the restaurant. Attention to detail is seen throughout the establishment.Overall, this was a 4-star dining experience. Whereas I am a bit hesitant to give it a perfect 5-star review, when out-of-towner asks for a suggestion for a place where they can have sushi with sake with a great ambience, I will not hesitate to name Colorado Sake Co.

My mom and I had a blast here last night! I had it bookmarked so we came here on our first night in Denver. I started with a half sake flight, trying the sake king (sparkling), OG nigori, green machine (spicy serrano cilantro), and grapefruit pear. Of course, the one I wanted to try, horchata nigori, was sold out. I ended up also getting a half glass of the Arnold Palmer and Oats N Berries flavors. My favorite was the OG nigori, which is the top sellar. We started with hamachi jalapeno sashimi and hotate sashimi. They were both fresh and delicious! I loved the micro cilantro with the hamachi. Next, we got spicy salmon tacos. The salmon was flavored with tobanjan (yum) and topped with yuzu tobiko! Then we got fried Brussel sprouts with spiced honey, spicy tuna tacos, duck bao, shrimp tempura roll, and fried rice. We loved the Brussel sprouts and shrimp tempura roll! For whatever reason my mom did not want the duck bao. It was amazing! First, the bao buns were overstuffed with both shredded duck and crispy skin! It was all mixed together and had so much texture and juiciness all at once! Our server Shelby was awesome. We were having a great time and then...Monday is trivia night! We had no idea, but I got interested in staying through the six rounds because I was hoping to win a bottle of sake or three...let's just say we were not very good, even as some of the top teams left before the end. We still did not place in the top 3. Oh well! We loved the atmosphere, food, and I enjoyed the sake! Itadakimasu!

Loved visiting here when I was on vacation. The lychee martini was the best I've had. All the food was tasty and it was nice to have shareables. It was pretty loud and busy since there was a comedy show about to happen. Service was fast and friendly. Street parking. Big menu so it pleased everyone. Loved the lavender sake!

I can't say enough good things about Colorado Sake Co! This place is an absolute gem. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their sake and my wife who usually doesn't like sake ended up ordering and loving the Horchata Sake. They took the time to explain the different varieties and brewing process, and it was fascinating to learn how much care goes into each batch which made the entire experience engaging. Would recommend to anybody who wants a fresh take on Sake brewing!
