We went on a Monday night for a friend's birthday. What a great pick! We parked easily in the free garage around the corner - awesome! We walked up to a beautiful space. The bar was inviting, loved the wood accents, the atmosphere was modern and elegant. We joked that the wooden staircase would be perfect for prom pictures. Food - family style so we got to taste everything and everyone chose well! You cannot NOT get the French onion soup dumplings. The pork belly bao buns were perfect and the buns were fluffy and tasty. Malaysian noodles were a hit and we asked for some extra spices to add to it which made it out of this world. Miso salmon lettuce wraps were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and healthy. They treated our friend with dessert and she opted for the 5-spiced doughnuts with coffee ice cream. Oh yes! And the wine - the bottles are reasonable priced and delicious. We were very happy with our wince choices. We explored their sister restaurant Gusto when we went to the restroom since they're connected. It looked amazing and we can't wait to come back to try it. As well as the bottomless dumpling Tuesdays and Sunday Funday. We love that Cholon opened a location in Sloan's Lake as we live near Green Mountain. This place will definitely be on our list of places to go with friends and family. As we were leaving, we ran into the owner Lon who I'd met way back in 2010 maybe when he first opened Cholon on Blake St. He looks the same and is just as friendly and nice. I'm really happy that Cholon is doing well and look forward to seeing them at the airport soon!

We go to dinner once a month with good friends and this month we wanted to take them to ChoLon because we ate here with our son and his fiancé. Best pad Thai ever!! We had a reservation and when we arrived there wasn't anyone available to check us in. It didn't take too long for someone to ask if we'd been helped. We got seated right away and then we waited and waited for service. The manager (I think) who seated us finally came and got us waters and said that our server would be right with us. She wasn't. However when she did come, she was very friendly and seemed to enjoy her job. She said she would return for our drink order. She didn't. When she did return and asked for our drink order I let her know that we also would order appetizers since we had been waiting so long. We ordered drinks and the soup dumplings with French onion soup and Bao buns with pork belly. The flavor of f the soup dumplings was 10/10 however the temperature was a 6/10 being barely over room temperature. The Bao buns and pork belly were delicious with blight fluffy buns and hot pork. There was another wait before we got our dinner orders in. We ordered the Pad Thai which was amazing. The beef and peppers stir fry which was hot, fresh and delicious and the noodles with shrimp that was also fabulous. Two of these dishes weren't as hot as they should have been (in temperature) but we were hungry and the flavors were yum!I realized on the way back from the bathroom that maybe it was taking our server so long to get to us because she was on her phone as I went past her. Not ok when the place is hopping. (Or ever)This was our second time at this location and since this experience was different from the first we will be back and see about the service and the food being served piping hot because it we know how awesome it can be.

Ambiance is great at this location. Its comfortable and cozy without the business of downtown. Service is attentive and fast. The bao buns were of good textures. Except it seems that most of the flavor came from the filler veggies. The shrimp cake itself is flavorless after biting through the marinated dills. The calamari was great. If you like your squid on the thicker side and a-lot more moist. You should get this. It's more squid than batter. Cocktails was great, no complain there. I'd suggest at least try it once. The appetizers alone is filling. Might not need entrees.

Came here for happy hour and so glad we did! I've been to the downtown location long ago and was excited to see this spot open and not have to drive down town- parking was easy! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and cozy and the food was delish! Drinks were balanced and not too sweet and we had the sweetest server-he gave the best recommendations- highlights were calamari and pork belly bao but everything was tasty! Will be back for noodles!!!

Wonderful service from Key at the bar! Food was excellent and different, I will definitely be back to try some more fusion dishes. Plus.. $6 for 2 large dumplings on happy hour and a lychee cocktail rendition of the famous "Far East Side" Tequila x Sake on HH for $12!? Plus the vaulted ceilings gives the space an urban upscale vibe. Delicious, Creative and Exceptional.

ChoLon at Sloan's Lake offers some great fusion dishes and a beautiful dining experience for a celebration.I decided to try this place out for a first date recently and was wowed by the interior. The interior design is incredible, very modern and bold. We ordered one cocktail each, Shumai, General Cho's soup dumplings, Pork Belly Wok Noodles and Crème Brûlée. My overall rating of the food is a 4/5. The flavors were really dialed in, my only note being the dumpling wrap on the shumai was a bit thick, and the pork belly in the pork belly noodle dish was sparse! I also felt as though the service was lackluster. Our server told us explicitly the only thing she orders on the menu is the dessert. Additionally, I made the reservation 5 days in advance, and we were sat next to an 8 person table. The entirety of our date, there were empty tables and booths that stayed empty, we were told were reserved. The experience lacked the intimacy we envisioned. Additionally, the prices are pretty steep for the portions and offerings. I only imagine myself coming back to this restaurant for a celebratory meal or a happy hour. I do see myself coming back just for that Crème Brûlée, however. Soy sauce ice cream and a white pepper crumble? Incredible!

Overall we had a good experienceFood:(1) French onion soup dumplings: If you like soup dumplings, you can't not like these. Exactly as you expect. Perfect cook on the dumpling part(2) Pork Belly Noodles: This was not the Malaysian stir fry but another one that isn't currently on their menu. Can't remember the name. Super flavorful but my biggest complaint is there was probably about 1oz of pork belly which was pretty pathetic. Would not recommend adding pork belly to any of the dishes if that is the outcome. The noodles were delicious though.(3) Decent wine and a nice sake menuService was good. They all seem to share responsibility. Other people besides our server was taking our plates and another person took our card to pay. Which was nice to not have to wait for the one person. Seemed like a good system.Ambience was cute inside. Well decorated. There was no one there when we got there but it got packed quickly. Good for them!

I've been to the other ChoLon locations before and was excited to learn that they opened up a location closer to where I live! We came as a group of four for dinner (reservations recommended). We had French onion soup dumplings, scallop tartare, crab fried rice, tempura mushrooms/asparagus, lemongrass chicken satays, and brussels sprouts. Everything was tasty! The fried rice and dumplings were the crowd favorites. We probably would not order the tempura veggies again.Service was friendly!

I went to the Sloan's Lake location and the pictures online didn't do it justice. It's much bigger than it looks! The food and service were amazing. Highly recommend the dumplings, pork belly noodles, and dessert!
