Cascade Restaurant's move to its new location off Hampden has brought a fresh wave of culinary excellence to the area. We indulged in a feast of Georgian delights, from the flavorful Kharcho soup to the indulgent Ajarian and Georgian Khachapuri. The Xinkali delighted our taste buds with each juicy bite, while the Armenian Baklava provided the perfect sweet ending. The prices are fair, and the service was top-notch, efficient, and courteous. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Cascade Restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience.

Whoosh! Right around the corner from the Smashburger at Parker/Yale (you didn't know there were businesses on that side of the building did you?), Cascade Eastern European Cuisine is just gushing with culinary delicacies from Armenia, Georgia and Russia.First, park yourself in the ornate dining room and pour a refreshing beverage (I especially like the sodas collectively termed "Limonad" in many parts of the former Soviet Union, with flavors such as Barbaris (barberry), Vishnya (sour cherry) and the mixed-citrus Buratino (named after the Russian equivalent to Pinocchio)). Then, decide on an appetizer or two to really get those gastric juices flowing. Perhaps a combination of cool Armenian cucumber yogurt (Jajukh) with a gargantuan Georgian cheese pie (Khachapuri)? Or Russia's classic Stolichniy salad, brimming with chicken, potatoes, eggs, and mixed vegetables? Or, maybe your whims are leaning in more of a Middle Eastern direction? In that case, I think you'd be captivated by Cascade's smoky eggplant dip (or rather, Baba Ganoush). If you're feeling especially indecisive, you can curate a Sampler of three of the eatery's ample appetizers and truly get an immaculate introduction to the menu - but don't stuff yourself too full just yet - this is only the beginning.Whether you use the Georgian term (Mtsvadi), the Armenian name (Khorovats), or the Russian designation (Shashlik), fans of the region's grilled-meat dishes will find much to sizzle about within these walls. For example, taking its name from the Turkish words for "one" and "two", Iki-Bir layers chunks of marinated pork and slices of potato before expertly searing them into maximum mouthwatering-ness and siding them with Satsebeli (tangy tomato sauce). But seafood fans, don't be discouraged - you can avail yourself of some similarly cooked sturgeon. If you're in more of a poultry mood, what about some Cornish hen, flattened and fried in the classic style called Tabaka? Or a handful of carefully-wrapped, jauntily-twisted meat dumplings (Khinkali)? Well, you get the idea - there's a lot to try - but truly, you'll be missing out by not leaving room for a square of baklava (lightened by fluffy meringue) and a cup of extra-strong (but of course!) coffee to end things on a perfect note.

We had to try this place today after I read about it. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress, Anastasia with fresh bread & butter. Our drinks were cold Armenian flavored soda (Pomagranit & Peach). We decided to try things out with a sampler plate of Jajukh, Russian Potato Salad and Armenian BBQ Veggie Salad. All wonderful in flavor. For your main course we had their Stuffed Cabbage (which was a different play on Polish Golabki) which was very tasty! We a tually took our leftovers home south us! Everything was fresh and then folks are very nice. We will go back as I am interested in trying their Kebabs and other specialties.

Definitely a specific European vibe inside but the menu is large and food is super fresh. Waitress so kind and hospitable, she is learning English and took really good care of us. We ordered the beef stroganoff and combo plate with chicken kebab and beef lula. Both excellent. This is the way Lula (or kufta) is supposed to taste. My husband is Turkish and he never orders it anywhere because it's always done wrong. I would order the stroganoff again hands down (with rice). Topped off with awesome baklava.

My first time. Nice selection of kabobs and I also tried their stuffed cabbage and beef stroganoff. All good and good-size portions. I never made it to their old place on Parker, but the new place at Chambers and Hampden is quite pretty. Linen tablecloths, nice decor. Nice service.

Super disappointed. Be AWARE!!! We order food to go and obviously food was not fresh - we didn't eat it. Soup was super sour and didn't smell good. The Russian tradition salad tasted weird. I think health department should do inspections in this restaurant.
