Casa Mata Mexican Restaurant

Food was excellent. Margaritas were strong. It's like Tex-Mex, but better! Highly recommend.

We were greeted immediately when we came in, directing us to a brightly lit booth by a window.They brought us chips, salsa, bean dip. I am usually not a fan of bean dip, but theirs was pretty good. Unfortunately, that was about it. I ordered the special enchiladas that said chicken, but he asked. The enchiladas were full of meat but the sauce did not have any heat to it unfortunately. Their tamale - the chicken was pretty dry. Service was fantastic as well, I just wished the food had matched.

This is a food based review! Service is good because I am like 3rd table. WHERE'S THE SALT!?? Like where's the beef hahaChips and salsa with a side of beans to open. Salsa is ok but lacking salt, as well as the beans with what I assume is their green chili and some shredded cheese on top that's not melted. Also needed salt or lard or some sort of flavor! Got the ultimate margarita it's the only thing that's good here but so small! Lol. Main dish #23. The menu said tamale and rellano were homemade by grandma? Or someone haha. Let's just say they should just stop cooking because uh this was bad. The tamale too much masa no flavor and just sad. The rellano was Luke warm at best cheese already coagulated and not please try to eat. The green chili was no different than water, The enchilada tasted like it was not even cooked, The beef inside did not even taste like beef and I did not see any enchilada sauce at all. Rice was meh as well as the beans as well. Of this was a retirement community then this place would be the jam! No spice, no flavor, and no salt! I wish the best for this place but they need to definitely taste their product and do a rebrand because this was just terrible food. Few bites of each thing and I was done. Oh and they didn't even notice I couldn't eat it which is a sign they really don't care!

Went here on a Sunday night, very quiet.Service was great, fast, friendly, and accurate. Chips and salsa plus a bean dip. Chips were a little thicker than usual, which tonight was a good thing. Salsa had a deep tomato taste. No surprises as the entrees we chose were the basic relleno, enchilada, and taco which were typically prepared. We weren't in an exploratory mood. They were pretty good.

Will update after having eaten here more but LOVE this place!The service was amazing, portion sizes and prices equally amazing!I was elated their marg choice said, "no sweet and sour"! Yes please!We ordered about 8 entrees and some apps and all were fab!They were more than generous with their amazing salsa. We will be back for sure and can't wait!

Amazing find behind Service Street off Hess and Parker RD..Just popped in while getting my oil change, had lunch.. Amazing food, incredible portions,FLAVOR through the roof! This is my new go to place for Mexican food. An absolute 5 star! Amazing foodAmazing serviceTrue Mexican ambiance! Excellent dinner at Casa Mata! Quickly seated in the pleasant and clean dining room at a comfortable booth. Greeted with a basket of warm tortilla chips, salsa and bean dip. All tasted great - chips were light and crispy, salsa had just the right amount of spice, and the bean dip was a very nice touch. Our server was extremely friendly and took our order. The Presidente margarita came out quickly and was delicious. Our food followed and we enjoyed it very much! The tamales and chile relleno were absolutely excellent - they tasted homemade. We also tried a ground beef enchilada, as well as a chicken enchilada and both were very tasty. Rice and beans were also full of flavor. More food than we can eat, so the server brought us takeaway containers. Will definitely be happy to return!

Above average food. Staff always pleasant. Plenty of parking. Standard American Mexican food.

We wanted to try a new and different Mexican Restaurant, so we went to Casa Mata and it was amazing! We went on New Years Day, 2025 and it was fairly slow, but the service, staff, food and margaritas were amazing! Nothing to complain about here! It's tucked away in in a strip mall so hard to see, but well worth it! We will be back, great authentic Mexican food!
