"The interior design of Mizu Izakaya is stunning and definitely eye-catching. However, I wasn't as impressed by their rather bland nigiri pieces. I felt they could have added a bit more salt and other unique flavor pairings charging at the rate they do. I likely won't be returning."
"Go Fish has stood the test of time and has proven to be a reliable spot for sushi. Prices are right with no rolls over $20. You never leave here hungry.I've never strayed away from the sushi. They do have appetizers, kitchen items like fried rice and tempura dishes, and desserts. I've always been in a sushi mood here. They do have a vegetarian/vegan menu as well! And to be honest, we've never been disappointed. Here are the specialty rolls I ordered last time we dined in a few weeks back.+Fantasy Roll // spicy salmon, crunch, masago, avocado, mango, topped with seared togarashi salmon and white tuna, crispy rice puff, eel sauce, wasabi mayo.+Triple X Roll // spicy yellowtail, spicy tuna, crunch, jalapeño, topped with seared tuna, garlic chips, eel sauce, house sauce.Dependable sushi here at Go Fish. It's right on the main drag of Broadway on a lively corner, so expect to see some type of action while you're here. Once you're inside, you'll be taken care of. Weather permitting, sit outside on the patio!"

"Sushi Katsu has a great AYCE deal - $24.99 for lunch and $30.95 for dinner. All you can eat is no joke. They will keep the food coming although they have put a 2 hour seating limit per table. Lots of options in appetizers, nigiri, and rolls. Rolls have plenty of ingredients and are generous portions. One of my favs is the Volcano Roll with crabmeat and cucumber topped with white fish, spicy mayo, masago, scallions and sweet sauce. They have other locations but I think the Havana one is the best."
"Karaage appetizer- sauce is good but karaage itself was just meh. I wouldn't get it againSalmon avocado roll was not badPhiladelphia roll was goodSpicy scallop roll was ok. Lots of texture but not much flavor imo Manhattan was alright. Tuna and salmon on outside, Kani crabmeat on insideHappy roll I thought was just okNew York roll I very much enjoyed. I would get this again for sure. Lots of sashimi on top and was tasty"
"Excellent service from start to finish!Upon entering, we were cheerfully greeted and seated by hostess Susi. We chose the outdoor patio seating as the weather was perfect. Our server Elise confidently handled multiple questions regarding menu items (seeking the spicier options). The XXX roll hit the spot, and the Firecracker roll which could use more heat ("Firecracker"). We caved and had a bottle of Momo Kawa sake. Once a regular DTC haven my serial-dating days, it is now a regular go-to when in town with colleagues.Excellent service, food, pleasant outdoor seating as well as intimate indoor ambiance make it my repeat sushi option in the DTC."
"Our party of four dined upstairs, and thought the ambiance was pleasant and not too lout. Overall, we had a great dinner and great service. We tried a wide variety of dishes, and were very happy with our selections which included:* Salmon Sashimi 7pcs: $27* Shumai steamed shrimp dumplings: $9.50* Edamame lightly salted soybeans: $7* Ginger Pork Gyoza - Hapa's pork potstickers with a spicy soy sauce: $9.50* The Big Kahuna -Hamachi, negi, cucumber, and avocado inside, topped with salmon, tuna, jalapeño, yuzu miso and wakame chazuke: $22* Karaage Sliders - Japanese-style fried chicken nestled in Hawaiian sweetbread, topped with Asian slaw and zesty spicy mayo. $12The sliders received rave reviews, and the potstickers were nicely executed. The salmon sashimi was good, though I thought they were pricey for the portion at $27. The Big Kahuna roll was also tasty, we would order that again. We would definitely return the next time we're in Denver."
"Hana Matsuri is still easily a five star experience, 6 years later. We love Hana Matsuri. Why, you may ask? Many of the same reasons as originally shared. - Quality: we've never had a bad experience, food wise. Sushi has a shelf life, of course, and if you're not astute, it shows. - Service: wait staff are incredibly attentive, as if they just opened and are happy to see anyone walking through the doors. Attention to detail cannot be faked. - Affordability: Hana isn't cheap, but you will pay for quality fish, well made rolls, incredible flavor combinations and variety. You will NOT pay for downtown Denver prices but you'll get the same experience. Are you a sushi lover or think you might be? Never had sushi? Hana is your place. Don't ruin the experience when Hani is waiting."
"What a find! Came here last night based on Yelp! reviews. This is a true hidden gem and so glad I found it. Inside very quaint, clean and well lit. Staff here is awesome and for sure 5 star! Super friendly , knowledgeable and really made this a 5 star experience. For food I started off with the karaage chicken and while a little different than what I am used to but regardless it was delicious. I had the spicy miso ramen with added chayu, seasoned pork and added egg. Normally most ramen comes with an egg but this is a little $$$ either way this was so delicious! Can't even explain how fresh and amazing is was. What a great experience on a hidden gem located in a non obscure strip mall in the corner but it was worth every bite. Will for sure be back!"
"Great food, great ambiance. Some of my favorites: grilled artichoke and the French dip. Excellent upscale restaurant"
"It was my first time going to Sushi Katsu, and I am amazed, the service was so fast, the servers were so sweet and patient, Sushi Katsu is a wonderful place to take your family. I totally recommend it and I'd go again! The Ambiance was so cute, clean!"
"The ambiance is an old school eclectic, if you know what I'm trying to get at. It's not traditional Japanese but also not modern Asian fusion. I think it's because of the neon lights. Service wise I thought it was on a slower side even though we came in at a time that was not very busy. The dishes I enjoyed were the Hamachi Kama (salmon collar) and the Beef sushi roll wrapped in soy paper. The former was well seasoned and had a nice crust; the latter very tasty and tender. Unfortunately the rest of our party loved to order fried foods: from tempura to cutlets, neither was worth writing home about. The sizzling plates like teriyaki salmon is pretty standard as well: big portion but over cooked."

Went here for a my husband's work dinner. Came on a Wednesday got reservations the morning of. The place was busy out on the patio but only a few occupied tables inside. The hamachi jalapeño dish and the pork belly buns were the more delicious items we had. The Tokyo roll and negiri pieces were good but not great, they had too much wasabi on them. Which over powered the fish. It is in a great location. We passed on dessert and headed to Little Man Ice Cream instead.

We were at a company event for my work and it ended fairly late. We were munchie hungry and saw the flashy lights of Go Fish lit up. They are open super late on weekend and even have a late night happy hour. Perfect! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the vibe. Order some drinks and a couple of rolls and veggie tempura. Everything tasted great and was fresh. I will say the place gets kind of 'cluby' at night and there were some extremely intoxicated people there (being carried out the back door and one was puking in a bucket) but otherwise fun place.

Taki has been a solid choice for years. I hadn't been in to the actual restaurant in a while because we usually do takeout but the kiddo was hungry after school and we realized we'd never been in person with him!He was impressed with the freshness of his Avacado rolls and salmon nigiri. We also splurged and got the fried Icecream, another first and delicious!Service was friendly and prompt, we will be back for sure!

Looooved this place! Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner with a friend and sat by the sushi bar - it was surprisingly super busy! Ordered some edamame and then miso soup to start off, which were both solid picks of course. Then for my meal I ordered the Dragon Roll and Firecracker Roll. My friend also ordered 2 rolls, but somehow we ended up with 2 extra rolls? Our server was super helpful and made sure that our bill was correct, but yeah everything was delicious!

We stopped by because of their happy hour, I loved the menu that they had. I got a shrimp tempura roll and also a deep fried avocado dish that had crab meat and spicy tuna inside which was very yummy! We also had the chicken skewer and dumplings that were also good. If I ever come back to visit Denver, I defiantly will be coming here again

Hana Matsuri continues to be my favorite place for the Black Rock meal where you can cook your selection of meat or seafood at your table. Everything is extremely fresh and delicious! Ended such an awesome meal with mochi ice cream of green tea, chocolate, mango and hot tea! Everyone should try it at least once and also ask for their VIP Rewards Card.

"(The review is based on a happy hour experience at 3pm Monday)1. The serving staff was great. I had Jess as my server and she was was very accommodating with my allergies, and very friendly! I felt truly taken care of. 2. The sushi went beyond my expectations for $12 for two rolls. First- the salmon avocado rolls were MASSIVE. I do recommend them-- on top of that-- the fish was very fresh and delicious. 3. The drink deals were great albeit my non-participation. Overall-- this place is killer at happy hour. Will absolutely be coming back!"
"Food, service, and cocktails here are great. This is my go-to sushi spot. Their crispy tuna appetizer and lemon salmon rolls are my favorites. My only qualm is I wish they offered green tea with their beverages, I'm not a fan of Barley tea."
"This review is based on a takeout order- however I will start with saying that the restaurant itself is very quaint, I'd love to return and experience their wait service. I love the low-lighting atmosphere. Everything is fresh, and I could tell that by the taste. I've had a hard time finding good sushi in Colorado, and this place really hit the mark. The sushi did not taste old or fishy at all- very fresh and delicious. I also tried a side order of fried rice, and it was amazing. It tasted just like hibachi rice, which is a huge plus for me. They were quick and friendly with my order. I'll definitely be back!"
"I must admit, I was skeptical before I tried Ooka. Their menu is HUGE and includes Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and all sorts of asian fusion. It makes you wonder what their real specialty is, but turns out, they do everything surprisingly well! Here's a few things I've ordered, all of which I have liked: - Sesame chicken (with white rice and steamed broccoli) - Dynamite Roll- Las Vegas Roll - yellowtail sushi- salmon sushi- potstickers - gyoza- veggie tempura- Thai Iced Tea I really haven't been disappointed by anything. You really can't go wrong with the sesame chicken, it's a great balance of light and crispy batter, tangy sauce with a little kick, and tender chicken within (though the broccoli could be steamed better). The dynamite roll is also, well, dynamite. It's a special roll with deep fried spicy salmon/eel/cream cheese combo. Great combo of sweet and spicy with a nice texture. The Las Vegas roll is also top shelf, which is lobster tempura, eel, cucumber, avocado within, and spicy scallops & mango on top. Again a really strong compliment of flavors and textures. I wouldn't call it my favorite sushi place in town (it's currently #2 but potential to take #1), but it is certainly my top overall "Asian" option. With so many options and consistency in taste + quality, I applaud the effort here and say keep it up!"
"Overall this is a solid option for sushi and Japanese fare. The service is very good as staff is pleasant, welcoming and efficient. They have a fun variety of virgin cocktails that are tasty. The decor is attractive, especially the tank of jelly fish in the center. Our meals were delicious. We ordered a variety of sushi , lobster pot stickers, and a couple of bento boxes. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and felt satisfied but not stuffed at the end of the meal.We had a diabetic in our party and asked for tea with a sugar substitute. Nothing was available but sugar. This one problem could be easily solved and would go a long way towards accommodating those who need to exclude sugar from their diet."
"My in-laws could not stop raving about this place from the friendly staff to the impeccable cuisine and presentation. We really appreciated their ability to accommodate food allergy issues as well.Looks like I'll be coming back here again with family!"
"I have been craving surf n turf sushi ever since I tried it at Sprouts. I heard this place had it and wanted to try it fresh. I walked into a completely empty restaurant and I had to ask if they were open. They were fully staffed but no customers. It was nice to have the restaurant to myself to take pictures of my menu and food without other people looking, however. I started with the Kani Poppers. They were AMAZING! I love the crisp of the crust and the crunch of the jalapeños. The cream cheese added some creaminess to the mix and the sauce on top added the sweetness that tied all of the flavors together. It was a well balanced and filling appetizer. Of course for my entree I got the Surf n Turf Roll. I must say I expected a lot more flavor wise. The flavor of the filet mignon on top fell flat, and they stuffed the roll with a lot of avocado which I am not a fan of but I don't mind in sushi because usually there is only a small amount. The cold roll that I bought at Sprouts was way better and a lot more affordable which was disappointing to me. I will have to keep looking for a better surf n turf roll in Denver. I will say the service was good and the staff was friendly."
"We eat here all the time. It's our go-to for dinner out. I love the sesame chicken it's very different than other places, its rich and savory. My hubby always has a big Sushi platter and loves it every time. The service is always quick and the portions are large. Plus who doesn't love hot sake."
"They have been opened for eight years. They closed for four months time for a much needed kitchen renovation! . I'm very happy they're back. This spot in Cherry Creek offers an excellent price point. Presentation is excellent and everything's fresh! They even offer Saba( mackerel). I'm so happy! They have a great Happy Hour everyday start at opening till 6pm, including lunch time. Dine in only, excludes holiday. "Hot sake was JUST what I needed after my partner and I went on a freezing date to the Blossoms of Light festival. The snow was beautiful but cold this particular evening. That made street parking pretty easy (one block down) when it would have been quite crowded on Colfax. We were seated immediately for dinner since there weren't many other people around.I was craving chirashi, when normally I'd have gotten a few sushi rolls. The hot sake and miso were a good way to warm my body before the entrée. The chirashi came "deconstructed" vs. the typical bowl format, which I thought was clever. Sashimi was fresh and filling, which is lowkey my concern because of price. Overall would come back here again!"
"Great Japanese food! Not expecting authentic, fresh, great tasting Japanese food in Colorado but here we are. We highly recommend this place."
"I was craving sushi and decided to stop in, and I'm so glad I did. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. The roll that my friend got was delicious. I wish I remembered the name. We shared some Gyozas and edamame to start. Let me say those were the best gyozas I've ever had! They were steamed but then pan-fried on one side, so they had a nice crunch. I would go back just for those again. The restaurant is inside a tiny corner strip; don't let that fool you. This was some of the better sushi I've had in a long time. The service was quick and friendly. I will be back."
"Wow! This spot has got it all to make me a fan the first visit!Fresh sushi, sashimi, a very tasteful decor and great choice of furniture makes this a surprisingly awesome find in the Colfax area. They opened in May of 2014. Next to Voodoo doughnuts. You won't be embarrassed to take your date here! They have specials to order from or go the A la carte way. We tried the following:Saba Sashimi, Rainbow Roll, Crazy Roll and California Rill. Outstandingly delicious and fresh!"
"Beautiful, delicious sushi!Osaka Sushi is a huge winner in the sushi department for having an amazing selection of rolls, reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and awesome desserts!Had the opportunity to finally check out Osaka Sushi after a friend of mine raved so much about it. I may be weird, but I actually love fruit in or on top of my sushi so whenever I'm at a new sushi place I scan the menu for a) rolls with any fruit like mango, strawberry, or kiwi, b) spicy rolls with spicy salmon or tuna, and then c) tempura rolls. Osaka Sushi has a great selection and some very unique rolls as well. I ordered the tropicana roll and ichiban roll which satisfied my fruity and spicy sushi cravings, respectively. The tropicana roll is one of their newer rolls and includes shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, kiwi, kiwi sauce, tempura flakes, and red tobiko. The ichiban roll is shrimp tempura & crab meat topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and sweet eel sauce. My friends ordered the avalanche roll, oh baby roll, and two others that I don't remember the name of. The avalanche has baked salmon, crab, shrimp tempura. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the ichiban, tropicana, and avalanches rolls! The two other rolls I tried were also great. Despite being fairly full, of course we had to try dessert.I ordered the berry paradise cheesecake, while our friends had the tempura ice cream and creme brulee. All of the desserts were beautifully presented, with beautiful plate art. Not only beautiful, but they were also delicious. I love the care in the presentation that Osaka delivers for both their sushi and desserts!Friendly staff, plenty of seating. Five stars! Definitely one of my favorite sushi restaurants - wish it was closer!"
"WOW WOW WOW. This is Chef Nobu's third restaurant in Colorado, with the other two locations in Aspen & Vail. This new-style Japanese and was to die for. While everything was truly great, I'd say the must try items are: yellowtail jalapeño sashimi & crispy spicy tuna. Our entire group was happy dancing between each bite. Ambiance is mid-modern minimalist, the restaurant is truly beautiful. Our server guided us throughout the entire sushi experience and it did not disappoint."
"Nicely designed restaurant in The Source Hotel. Great ambiance and atmosphere - incredible food and sushi Service is impeccable as the bar tenders are all friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Would highly recommend for sushi in Denver"
"A friend and I went right at opening (11am) for lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. We shared 4 rolls. The different fish all tasted really fresh... the rice was cooked perfectly and really nice texture. Overall, very very happy with this place. Not sure how it is when it gets busy, but I'm very excited to go back!! Ambiance was nice...good spot to hang out with friends. Everything felt/looked clean, too."
"I've been to Stanley Marketplace a bunch of times and never thought to eat here. I brought a friend from out of town here since we'd have choices. We peered at the menu and within seconds - a wonderful Japanese man came up to greet us and we decided to get seated here. It's a cute vibe and I like that it's its own restaurant within this food hall with table service. we started with the spicy edamame and we each got a miso soup. The spicy edamame was very spicy - we didn't eat too much since I don't like to not taste the rest of my food. We ordered 2 rolls to share. We got the roll that has eel in it and a roll that has mango on it. We didn't know what to expect for the mango roll but it ended up being amazing! It was super light & refreshing. Our eel roll was also delicious. Really enjoyed this place. Our only downfall was they ended up getting busy and we had to flag them down for our check and for a to-go box so we waited there longer than we would've liked."
"When people see my reviews, they must say that this guy gives every place 5 stars, well, if you only go to places that are 4 stars & above, you really can't go wrong! Now onto to the Rocky Yama review. This place is really, really good! The wife & I went on Thursday night for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary for the first time & I can safely say that it won't be our last time! We started off with the Yellowtail Jalapeño Sashimi, because it reminded us of a dish we used to get at our favorite Sushi place in NJ. I'm really glad we tried this dish, it was extremely fresh tasting, what I mean is the Cilantro was very dominant& this app was excellent, I highly recommend it! I really wanted to try the Toro Aburi, which was a piece of the Tuna belly, marinated & they used their special fire technique to finish it, again this was excellent!!! To top off our appetizer selection, we got their Crispy Tuna Bites & I have to say that these were the best of the bunch! For our entrees, we got the Spicy Tuna Roll(Whenever we try a new Sushi place, I always try the Spicy Tuna Roll to judge the quality) again, EXCELLENT! We also got the Lava Roll, Red Dragon Roll & the Fire Cracker Roll, and every roll was EXCELLENT as well! I'm really glad we went here & tried a new place, it was well worth the 30 minute ride from Highlands Ranch. We went for Happy Hour, which goes from 3pm-6pm & it's BOGO on Sake selections & some of their alcoholic beverages, as well as discounts on food. The service was excellent & she was very attentive. Ambiance was average, it was a great little Sushi restaurant & we definitely will be back!!!Try it, you won't be disappointed!"
"Service is fast and the food is good. We ordered a few rolls for the table and had drinks. It's not our first time eating here and we will return. I also find the prices for sushi really stellar."
"This is a great little spot! I came here for lunch and ate at the counter. The fish is all very high quality and fresh. They make rolls that you eat by hand which is different. I enjoyed the yellowtail, blue crab and spicy tuna rolls. I also had some sashimi and it was delicious. Great miso soup. Service was friendly and food came out in a reasonable timeframe. Prices are reasonable given the high quality. I would definitely come back!"
