Jolene L. "Oh the fragrance of Pho, simmering all day, filling the air of their large dining area.Thankfully, this restaurant was a close and easy walk from our meeting site. Four of my coworkers came with me for lunch and we were seated right away. Good thing we beat the regular lunch crowd because this place filled up quick! All of our orders were served up in a timely manner. My chicken pho was tasty, maybe a little bit in the salty side for my preference but others enjoyed the broth. Herbs and veggies were fresh. What the Pho, thank you for your quick service and tasty food. We appreciate the separate checks for our group too."

Kelly K. "I must admit, I was skeptical before I tried Ooka. Their menu is HUGE and includes Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and all sorts of asian fusion. It makes you wonder what their real specialty is, but turns out, they do everything surprisingly well! Here's a few things I've ordered, all of which I have liked: - Sesame chicken (with white rice and steamed broccoli) - Dynamite Roll- Las Vegas Roll - yellowtail sushi- salmon sushi- potstickers - gyoza- veggie tempura- Thai Iced Tea I really haven't been disappointed by anything. You really can't go wrong with the sesame chicken, it's a great balance of light and crispy batter, tangy sauce with a little kick, and tender chicken within (though the broccoli could be steamed better). The dynamite roll is also, well, dynamite. It's a special roll with deep fried spicy salmon/eel/cream cheese combo. Great combo of sweet and spicy with a nice texture. The Las Vegas roll is also top shelf, which is lobster tempura, eel, cucumber, avocado within, and spicy scallops & mango on top. Again a really strong compliment of flavors and textures. I wouldn't call it my favorite sushi place in town (it's currently #2 but potential to take #1), but it is certainly my top overall "Asian" option. With so many options and consistency in taste + quality, I applaud the effort here and say keep it up!"

Stefanie C. "Hot sake was JUST what I needed after my partner and I went on a freezing date to the Blossoms of Light festival. The snow was beautiful but cold this particular evening. That made street parking pretty easy (one block down) when it would have been quite crowded on Colfax. We were seated immediately for dinner since there weren't many other people around.I was craving chirashi, when normally I'd have gotten a few sushi rolls. The hot sake and miso were a good way to warm my body before the entrée. The chirashi came "deconstructed" vs. the typical bowl format, which I thought was clever. Sashimi was fresh and filling, which is lowkey my concern because of price. Overall would come back here again!"

The light spring roll with the flavor bomb peanut sauce just goes so well together. They should sell that peanut sauce lol ;)I got the combination pho which is Steak, brisket, tendon, tripe and meatball. You have to order a medium or large bowl if you choose this and my husband got the Steak and Brisket. I'll be honest the tendon felt pretty uncooked and hard and stiff so I took it out. I think the best option is the rare (p.s the meat is so thin that it cooks in the hot water) Steak and Brisket. Overall good experience"

Miatsu K. "We stopped here for my friend's birthday dinner. First thing we noticed is the building was in some disrepair. It used to be a Pizza Hut and repurposing a very obvious building structure is akward at best. The red of the previous paint job is coming through all over the exterior. Parking lot is safe and well lit but also in some disrepair. The service was fast and efficient but cold and distant. No casual chat, banter or anything remotely close to friendly. The food came out fast and was a solid average for the genre. The spicy tuna sushi was first rate but the seafood ramen was average, as was the shrimp tempura. I'd order the sushi again but not the ramen or tempura. The building is clean inside but the employee sleeping in one of the booths near us felt odd. I'm not sure why but I didn't like it. It felt tacky. All in all, this restaurant was a solid average and I prefer to eat at locations that excel."

Rika M. "It's nice to have a go-to restaurant in your direct vicinity and I must say that this Chinese restaurant is one of them (although I don't utilize it enough.) A few days ago, a little past 9pm (on Christmas Eve to be exact), on my way to go to a friend's house, I stopped here to get me a few items. There was one group of people (the last diner of the night) that was finishing off their late night meal. Other than that, I appeared to be the last customer for the night. The lady that greeted me asked me if it was for a dine in or to-go (wonder if she would have accepted me had I said dine in? Not sure.) I immediately responded, "To-go, please."Like I stated earlier I only wanted a few items (a few sides.) I got me the pork dumplings and the veggies egg rolls. The lady said it'd be 5 min. While waiting, I looked around the dining room and took a few photos. Nicely dimmed lights, each dining table was neatly arranged/set. Very clean and inviting. I like the bright red napkins. This restaurant appears to have received several accolades in the past (there are frames magazine articles on one of the walls.) As promised, it was about 5 minutes before my food was ready. A different lady gave me a bag that contained my food with a nice smile. Service is good here.I didn't eat the food until next day. Sometimes there is a huge difference between eating it fresh or a day old so I'll be fair with this review based on the fact that I ate it when the food was half day old. Overall, both of them were good. To be frank, when it comes to dumplings or potstickers, I prefer them to be pan-fried to be deep fried. I wonder if they ever make them pan-fried or even steamed. This will be a little request I'll be sure to make upon my next visit for sure. The veggie egg rolls were a bit small for the price. Tasted good however. I really need to try their main dishes in the future. Then I'll be able to elaborate more on their food in a real sense. Until then my hon/frank rating shall be 3-stat."

Everything was perfectly fresh--lettuce, roasted red peppers, grape tomatoes, chickpeas, finely sliced onions, finely julienned pepperoni and salami (very flavorful, yet not at all greasy), sliced perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs, julienned cheese. The dressing made the salad! Since I didn't order it, I don't know what type it was, but I guess it was Italian. It was a nicely emulsified sharp vinaigrette. There's ample seating and check out the different specials they have on different days of the week. They also have a couple pool tables next door that people don't always realize. The bathrooms could be better, but, ah no real biggie.I've tried different foods, as well. All have been delicious. I think I got one sandy baked oyster once, which always sucks to chew sand in your teeth, but I guess it's going to happen here and there with oysters.
