"A local favorite and a historical location, this spot seems like it has maintained its hole-in-a-wall stature, interior is old and worn off. Despite that the place has lots of recognition and accolades displayed on their wall. But the outdoor seating they have, looked so new and modern, best part of the restaurant.The breakfast items we tried were okay. Lemonade was decent. Pancakes were not so good. Service is okay. Dishes came out within a short time. We were happy to have checked mark this iconic spot but probably not the best experience we imagined."

"I'm not sure why they have such low ratings. When you walked inside, it was covered with cows. Even the bathroom had cow paintings and artwork inside. Thats why they call it the cow and eatery. You can either eat inside or the outside patio or the back closed off patio. The service is great, and they are quick and check on you frequently. When I asked for hot sauce, they brought over three from their own brand. I was impressed by all three. It felt like I was in the show hot ones on youtube, haha!!I found out that this place used to be just an ice cream shop with just outside seating, but renovated it for food and dessert with seating inside. I think that was a great idea. Food wise, I ordered for myself the seafood mac and cheese. I'm on a diet not eating fried food, so it was limited, and of course, I got myself dessert too. Their banana split was so good. I enjoyed it thoroughly even though I'm not a fan of chocolate. But their two flavors and all of the toppings together combined matched well. I would suggest getting their dessert as it's all handmade."

"Wow this is my new go to place. They have coffee bar, they have homemade biscuits, homemade cinnamon rolls, thick cut bacon - what else could you ask for? The eggs Bennie was wonderful - the Hollandaise is perfect amount of creamy and slight tang. The potatoes they call Browns are great not too crispy not too hard. The pancake was really good. The waitstaff is young I think more teens or just out of high school but they were nice. Will definitely return."

"We stopped here before heading towards Colorado Springs for the day. It wasn't full yet but was getting there. We sat at the countertop and got greeted and taken care of right away. I got the #1 breakfast that came with 2 eggs, choice of meat and choice of pancake or French toast. The food was good and a perfect portion size. The prices were cheap too. Good hole in the wall cafe."

The restaurant is cosy and warm, with a golden glow and plush seating, draped with fuzzy blankets and pillows, that wraps around the small space.We had a mocktail and a glass of wine to go with our bread board. My one suggestion for the kitchen would be to warm up the bread brought to the table before the meal.The entire meal was outstanding, but the highlights were the gnocchi and the salmon entree.The gnocchi: hearty and flavorful. This dish reminded me of an elevated hamburger helper in THE BEST WAY. It was topped with squash blossoms, which added to the presentation. I would come back for this dish alone.The salmon entree: not only was the salmon amazing, but the quinoa was the best I've ever had. So much umami.Stuart and Micha were wonderful with suggestions and ensuring the meal was perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience."

"Came in on a busy Saturday, was sat briefly and given a fair amount of time to look over the menu before our order was taken.The restaurant itself carries a very home-like vibe and appears to have a very loyal group of regulars. It can be loud, but not obnoxious in my opinion.The food itself was great. The biscuits and gravy were quite good. The gravy was thick enough to my liking & the biscuits were well cooked. The gravy had sausage bits that were chunky and a little big for my taste, but it still was incredible. Those who like their b&g with adequate pepper might want to add some at the table. I asked for the eggs over medium and they were actually over medium, while not being rubbery.Not pictured was three pancakes, they were about hand sized and not bad. Although the syrup was very liquidy and runny for my taste.Overall service was good, prices were fair, and food gave off a very nice hole-in-the-wall vibe."

"Hits The Spot can do what their name says. Hit that hungry spot!!A no fuss spot for breakfast and so affordable! Everything that you see on this review was $20 minus the tip! The food is straight up basic breakfast and tasty! No complain here! The staff are seasoned and attentive! I like looked around and noticed photos of old Hollywood stars from lone ago. Also, this diner is frequented by regulars. Love it!My special pancake was fluffy. My eggs came as requested ; over medium. My sausage although nothing to boast about in size was what sausage should be! seasoned well!So if you're looking for a bfast spot while you're in the west side do not hesitate to stop by and try this folks!"

"I was in the area at 5:30 AM looking for a breakfast place that was already open to get a breakfast burrito and Apple Ridge Cafe was there for me in the early hours. This is a local spot for sure. If you go in the morning you will get to hear all the local guys talking about everything that is going on. They have their regular booths, come in and give the poor waitress a hard time. She can dish it back for sure, but it make for some pretty comical entertainment while you are waiting for breakfast.Apple Ridge Cafe offered a big breakfast burrito. It is stuffed with potatoes and eggs then smothered in a New Mexican style green chile that was excellent. I could just enjoy a bowl of that chili with some eggs and would be very happy. The potatoes are good, but there are a lot of them in the burrito so you walk out full and satisfiedWhen I return I want to try the pregnant burrito. I wish I would have caught this on the menu before I ordered. It is a burrito that is stuffed with a chile relleno inside. Must I say more?There was only one waitress working while I was there, but she had that whole place under control. The knows what the regulars want for their breakfast and she makes sure that food comes out of the kitchen in a hurry. Fun place for a breakfast if you get a chance."

"Louis' Diner is my kind of breakfast spot. I would go here over the upscale brunch places around town any day of the week.My group of 4 arrived a little before 9 am on a Saturday morning, and we were able to sit down immediately. By the time we left around 10, the restaurant was nearly full, but still had no wait time for smaller groups. The coffee was hot, strong, and fresh. The chicken fried steak skillet was excellent. Over medium eggs were spot on. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They even seemed to know some of the customers by name. That's the best part of a place like this.Save yourself the 90-minute wait at other brunch places and come to Louis' Diner for an excellent breakfast/brunch experience."

"Was looking for a calzone with cream cheese hard to find in Colorado I only know a handful of places that have cream cheese as a topping this place was a hit, we did also order a pizza. My calzone consisted of mozzerella, pepperoni, mushroom, and cream cheese they do add sauce in it as well , along with a garlic seasoning on top and a small side of sauce. The pizza we got was regular cheese this was devoured also. It's a little dark in this establishment but we took our food to go. they do have limited seating and some diffrent types of pizzas somthing for everyone. Staff wasnt extremely helpful online offer was different from in store so just make sure you ask questions. They do looked like they have a daily offer for a pie or other meals so we will be back to try again."

"One of my wife's and my early dates was when we went out to what was then a backwoods area--free from the city lights of Denver near Chief Hosa. We laid out a blanket and watched the Perseid meteor shower. So breathtakingly beautiful. Afterwards we decided we were hungry and so once the sun was up we decided to go to Davies' Chuck Wagon Diner for an early breakfast. Had the Chuck Wagon Breakfast of steak, eggs, hash browns and toast, that's still on the menu these 20 years later. Cost I think around $4.95 or so back then. Today the price has risen to $9.95, but it's still a great deal. And what's the best thing about that 46 ton railroad car diner that was shipped out to Denver I think back in the 50s or early 60s and is now on the National Historic Registry? Well they're still serving the same Chuck Wagon Breakfast.We were driving up to the mountains yesterday and happened to be going by the diner when we both looked over at each other and without saying a word reached out squeezing each other's hands and smiled. Turned into the diner parking lot, and went in and ordered the same meals. So lemme ask you this . . . how could I give anything less than a 5 star rating to Davies'?Sign me,David "Lucky in love" M"

"The name "coffee shop" is a bit misleading as they don't even have an espresso machine, and they only offer drip coffee. The place is easy to find and has plenty of parking (dirt only parking lot though).The menu had way more items than noted on their website so it was a plus. However, keep in mind that they don't focus on healthy options. The service was very attentive, and everyone was super nice and kind. Food was edible but that's about it. I got Mexican omelette, and a side of hash browns. Hash browns were very mushy and green chile was too thick and not very flavorful (despite having a nice spicy kick). They also sell some homemade jerky, jelly, etc. Overall, it's not a bad place but not something I will ever crave again."

"I'm here for the pies, the hot breakfasts and unlimited coffee. They also have a super positive attitude and a friendly staff. I've been going to the Southland's locations since Southland's opened and never really had any problems. The wait time is usually under 5 mintues on busy days. Although the food service can be later then other breakfast places. The skillet meals are delicious and you can request different proteins. There hasn't been a pie, I didn't like here. During the holidays you can pre-order your pies. Most of the time you don't have to worry about not having your favorites when you arrive."

"I love old fashioned diners so I had to pick this spot out for breakfast in Denver. It's just as cute as I had hoped for and the food was great too. I don't eat pork and a lot of breakfast food is pork-based but I always ask if I can substitute turkey whenever the restaurant offers a turkey sandwich on their lunch menu and thankfully the diner was happy to accommodate my request for a turkey and cheddar omelette. The 3 egg omelette comes with hashbrowns and a choice of pancakes or toast and it was more than enough food for two meals for me."
