"I was visitng Denver and a friend recommended this place for dim sum. We went for late lunch and while it was still very busy, we were able to get seated right away. The carts came by often so we didn't have to wait long to eat. We probably had a full array of tasty eats on our table within five minutes LOL Everything was so delicious! The flake factor of crust on their egg custard tarts are out of this world! The silky smooth custard was evenly cooked. Their recipe is on point, they sure know how to serve up excellent egg custard tarts! This was my favorite :)I thought their dim sum was great. The full carts came around in a timely fashion. Their customer service was polite and their jasmine tea really complimented everything well. Grateful for my friend bringing me here!"
"I came on a Sunday evening around 630pm and was seated right away for a party of 4. I sampled some dishes... crab rangoon was really tasty- had a kick to it. Xiao long bao were pretty tasty as well. Hot and sour soup was too salty for me but def had flavor. Baby bok choy buns were not bad. Fried shrimp was aiight. Wasn't a huge fan of the Dumpling roulette I tried.Overall it was fairly tasty food but def overpriced because it's Asian fusion."
A famous Chinese noodle dish most Westerners don't know about. Includes beef, egg noodle, bok choy, pickles, scallion, cilantro, and Sichuan spices.

"I really like this spot near Union Station. It's right next door. The food is really good and very flavorful. They do add gratuity, FYI. And they do explain this, so you can find that in writing when you are there if it matters to you.The drink situation is limited, wish they could get some wine, even pre-bottled stuff. And I thought they did before but not the last time I was there. I think they just have beer in the cooler now. But the noodle game is strong here! And the flavor game! You can sit outside, too. There's a few spots for when it's nice out."
"Super good! I prefer this dim sum over Star Kitchen. Standouts include the salt and pepper tofu, har gow (crystal shrimp dumplings), sugarcane shrimp and lotus leaf rice. The xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) had a great flavor, but not as juicy as I would have liked. (My favorite soup dumplings in Denver are at Dating Yumy.)The restaurant is more spacious than Star Kitchen and I like the atmosphere better. They were a variety of carts going around on a Sunday afternoon. It didn't take long to get seated for 4. We were very full, and ended up spending $20 per person.Overall, this is a really solid choice for good dim sum in Denver!"
"Brought my friend for her birthday celebration. She was excited and I was happy as her eyes lit up at all the dishes. She listened to the descriptions, mine were bad, and selected dishes. We ate and ate and then took leftovers home for her hubby and for myself. She enjoyed the experience and that's one of the reasons I like bringing people here. It's not intimidating and they welcome you. Definitely amazing service and great vibe."
"It's nice to have a go-to restaurant in your direct vicinity and I must say that this Chinese restaurant is one of them (although I don't utilize it enough.) A few days ago, a little past 9pm (on Christmas Eve to be exact), on my way to go to a friend's house, I stopped here to get me a few items. There was one group of people (the last diner of the night) that was finishing off their late night meal. Other than that, I appeared to be the last customer for the night. The lady that greeted me asked me if it was for a dine in or to-go (wonder if she would have accepted me had I said dine in? Not sure.) I immediately responded, "To-go, please."Like I stated earlier I only wanted a few items (a few sides.) I got me the pork dumplings and the veggies egg rolls. The lady said it'd be 5 min. While waiting, I looked around the dining room and took a few photos. Nicely dimmed lights, each dining table was neatly arranged/set. Very clean and inviting. I like the bright red napkins. This restaurant appears to have received several accolades in the past (there are frames magazine articles on one of the walls.) As promised, it was about 5 minutes before my food was ready. A different lady gave me a bag that contained my food with a nice smile. Service is good here.I didn't eat the food until next day. Sometimes there is a huge difference between eating it fresh or a day old so I'll be fair with this review based on the fact that I ate it when the food was half day old. Overall, both of them were good. To be frank, when it comes to dumplings or potstickers, I prefer them to be pan-fried to be deep fried. I wonder if they ever make them pan-fried or even steamed. This will be a little request I'll be sure to make upon my next visit for sure. The veggie egg rolls were a bit small for the price. Tasted good however. I really need to try their main dishes in the future. Then I'll be able to elaborate more on their food in a real sense. Until then my hon/frank rating shall be 3-stat."

Star Kitchen is a Denver staple when it comes to dim sum. I don't think anyone would claim The Mile High as the dim sum capital of America, however this part of town is home to an abundance of incredible Asian restaurants worth checking out.Star Kitchen has been doing its thing for the better half of two decades and when you can come here you'll see what I'm talking about. It's a well oiled machine engrained in tradition, with old school tactics that play well to its kind of operation.TLDR: if you're coming here on a weekend between the hours of 10am-2pm, you can expect to wait. No exceptions. Don't fault the restaurant. They churn and burn through hundreds of hungry dim sum fanatics and make it look easy. When you come here, you're not checking out the hip, new trendy restaurant in town. Star Kitchen focuses on the food and getting you in and out relatively quickly. That's the name of the game here. Once you sit you immediately start eating, and when you're too full to move a muscle they're bringing you the check and kicking it out. Don't hate the player, hate the game! It's recommended to come here with a minimum of 4 people, so you can do significant damage through the giant menu. Here are the dishes I always order when I come here and suggest:Barbecue Roasted Duck, Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Soup Dumpling, Crystal Leek Dumpling, Siu Mai, Pan Fried Turnip Cake, Fried Sesame Ball, Pan Fried Chicken Dumpling, Cilantro Dumpling, Fried Taro Cake, and Egg Custard Tart. You can't go wrong when you come here. This place screams authentic. That's why there's a lengthy line out the door every single weekend. Like clockwork. If you're looking to gain 10 pounds, come to Star Kitchen!

We had such a delicious dinner here! We tried a ton of items and loved it all. I think the only thing we wouldn't order again is the spicy cucumber salad. It was good, just not on the same level as the other food items for us. My favorite items were the Red Sea chili wontons, the stir fried green beans, the truffle soup buns, and the fried sesame balls. My partner's fave were the pan fried pork buns. We also all enjoyed the xiao long soup buns and the ShuMai. The ambience was lively and the service was very good. We came on a Tuesday night and it was full but there was not a wait for a table. We will definitely return!!

If you are in downtown Denver, then you must try authentic Taiwanese street food at Zoe Ma Ma. Adjacent to the Union Station train depot in downtown, this quick service restaurant gets high marks for quality food at reasonable prices. We love the Dan Dan Mian but have recently discovered the Lu Ro Fan. Dan Dan Mian has a bit of a kick and sits on a bed of noodles. Lu Ro Fan is a generous blend of meats and vegetables on a bed of rice. LRF is fantastic with a bit of the Sichuan peppercorn sauce. Not spicy at all but a a bit salty so go easy.

Have you noticed the new floor at Super Star Asian Cuisine right by the Denver Great Wall Supermarket and Costco Business Center. Compared to the dated carpet before, the new floor looks quite refreshing. Certainly a nice makeover.

Really big restaurant with ample seating Somewhat smaller parking lot size but fairly packed even tho restaurant was not busy, there were lots of employees so maybe they took up like half the parking lotEmployees were all Asian. They were all super nice and spoke Chinese. Owners were very friendly.Ordering system was a bit chaotic. We filled out the menu ordering sheet with what we wanted but all the food carts kept passing by asking us if we wanted things rather than take our menu and put those on our table. I'm pretty sure we got charged based on our paper menu order rather than what was actually on our table. Not happy about thatFood review:Beef chow fun was rather tasteless, would not get again All items were OK: shrimp crepe, fried bean curd, shu mai, shrimp dumpling, chive and meat dumpling Fried turnip cake with hoisin sauce was goodOverall ok.

Shanghai Kitchen recently introduced two new popular Shanghai dishes, the crab roe noodles and dry pot lamb chops, rarely seen not only in Denver, but also also in Los Angeles or New York. For foodies crave for authentic Shanghai food, these are must try. The other dishes are xiaolongbao, sweet and sour baby ribs, Buddhist delight, vegetable spring rolls and shepherd's purse tofu soup.

The main dumpling dish was full of colors and flavor. The flavors were told at the beginning of the meal: cheese, crab, kimchi, mushroom, spinach, garlic, spicy, and original. They have soy, vinegar, and chili oil on the table to dress them with. The portion was just enough to satisfy hunger. They are one bite dumplings, so consider it one specialty sushi roll for comparison. Inside is clean and bright. It looks like more of a cute cafe and would be great for a second date or get together. Service was friendly and helpful with choosing which dumplings (and how to eat them properly)! I would recommend this to anyone looking for good dumplings and dim sum

First of all, this is not a restaurant. It is a take-out kitchen only. It is located in and industrial area on the eastern edge of Boulder, near storage units, auto repair and some county maintenance offices. It is a bit hard to find as it is part of a commercial co-working kitchen spaces for start ups, food trucks and the like. The sign on the building says Salad Grounds, which I believe is a play on the phrase, "Solid Ground" a place for several small startups. In the middle window, there is a paper menu taped up for Formosa. Enter there, call through the entry for the Formosa staff, probably just the owner, Nancy. She has cooked at Boulder Chinese restaurants for over 20 years, and the ones she mentioned I may have had a few items over the years, but both are now gone. She is very friendly and appears to do all the work herself, from scratch. We should have called or texted the order in advance (which she mentioned was her preference) so once we gave it to her, we came back in 25 minutes and it was ready.I did not read the menu carefully and will choose more carefully next time. Her egg custard tarts are the best I have had in CO and as good as the Bay Area, SF Chinatown and Boston Chinatown. I also thought the chive pork pan fried dumplings as good as I have ever had and better than most in the area. Her BBQ pork steamed buns (bao) were excellent and clearly hand made, not reheated from frozen factory made as so many are. Very authentically hand shaped. The hot sour soup was also very tasty and a very large portion. Sesame balls were very good and lots of delicious red bean paste packed into a small, easy to handle ball. There were only a couple of misses, one was my fault, I did not see that the bean paste pastry had an egg yolk in it, which I do not like. Her crust was good, it was not the same bean paste as the sesame ball and the yolk is why I only buy Harvest Festival Mooncakes with "no yolks." I have bought them elsewhere for years but will ask next fall if she makes those too. The other fail was the congee as it was more fluid than I have had in the past. Maybe we got it too early and it had not yet cooked down to porridge consistency. The flavor was fine as intended to be blander on the vegetarian version, which had taro, mushrooms and tofu skin. I will call ahead next time, check on availability of some items and try a few new things I have seen mentioned in other reviews. It is a humble little space, but she has experience in cooking and that is all she is intending to provide. She has seen what it takes to have a retail restaurant in a building in the city of Boulder.

"I've been meaning to try here as I LOVE dumplings. I came here after work one day with a co-worker. We were able to be seated right away. We got here are 6:15p on a Thursday. As the night went on, it began getting pretty crowded! We ordered the original pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings). We got BBQ pork buns, shrimp dumplings, and Bryan's fried rice. My co-worker has never had any of these. As we left - she mentioned how good it was! They had all the sauces you needed on the table. Soy sauce if you wanted to use it. Vinegar - which I used for my soup dumplings. And chili oil which I love pretty much with anything else. We also ordered a pot of Jasmine Green Tea to enjoy with our meal. The fried rice was simple but that's how I like it. I can't wait to come back. I loved it and can't wait to try more things on the menu."
"always get the cold sesame noodles, egg tarts, and all the buns. Great food, weird location for this take-out only spot. Call in your order and help the owner/chef save a few pennies from not having to use the app (also gets your order to the head of her line). Sometimes large orders take a while (we have a big family) but we're always happy customers because the food is worth it!"
"First time here after a lot of anticipation for us, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed. I'll give it a 4, since my daughter seemed to really like it, but I wasn't blown away.First, this place is small. Maybe six tables total. All were full when we ordered, so we ended up by the front windows waiting for something to open up. A table did, so we got to sit before our food came.Having looked at the menu before getting these, we wanted to try a few different things. The Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings were probably the highlight of the meal. The pork dumplings were fine, but I'm not sure if any flavors particularly stood out to me.My daughter really liked her beef rice bowl. I thought it was fine and would probably get that if I go back. It was better than my Rouzao Noodle Bowl. The ground pork wasn't my favorite, it didn't have much flavor, and the noodles were hard to eat. I added a bit too much chili garlic, but at least it had flavor at that point. We split an order of egg custard buns for dessert, and they were pretty tasty. It was fine. Not overly wowed by it, but I might go again. Granted, with good Chinese and sushi options to frequent, maybe I won't run back."
"In the end only 2 out of 9 things we ordered were excellent, but they were so exceptional I'm willing to give them 5 stars!First being the Truffle Soup Dumplings. I've never had XLB in "black skin" before and I'm totally impressed. I wonder if they used squid ink for the skin? And even more impressive is the flavor. It's definitely worth the high price tag IMO. I told hubby next time just the two of us come here and ask for 4 orders of these bad boys, pay the 100 bucks and be done, seriously! The other wonderful thing from Nana's is the pan fried "thumplings", they're the thumb size buns that I ate like popcorns. Needless to say they're addictive. The bigger version of this Bao was also pretty good, with tender skin that I wouldn't be surprised if made with cake flour. But they're not as fun to eat as the thumplings Other less impressive but still worth getting: steamed pork bun (average), sticky rice shumai (good but over priced). Wonton in chili oil (not juicy enough). Cucumber salad (too spicy, for me)These I will never get again: braised beef slices (over cooked and too hard to chew). Beef noodle soup: I swear they use spaghetti noodles and the beef cubes are also overcooked (or undercooked! Meaning they're too chewy and not soft like braised beef should be!)"
"Back again...as my husband had said, super friendly staff! This time I ordered the veggie dumplings with the wonton soup. I really liked it- the flavor was sooo delicate, but my husband preferred the Japanese curry. I also got the chashu bao- the bbq pork filling and was delightful!"
"The food was so good! We did order the veggie ones and I was a little skeptical since I'm a meat eater, but honestly, these were our favorite!! Only one complaint: it was near closing time and we were sitting towards the back near the bathrooms. The young person cleaning the bathroom mopped the bathroom and rolled the mop bucket right by our table.. the smell was out of this world disgusting. The same mop and water was used to mop the front entry causing the whole place to smell like a toilet. It's unfortunate because the food was really good!"
"My family had the most wonderful dinner here, we can't stop talking about how good it was! The food was outstanding and the service was very sweet and attentive. For starters, we had the BBQ buns, shrimp dumplings, and pork dumplings in chili sauce. Each was super flavorful and authentic; it was very reminiscent of the dim sum that I used to eat when I lived in San Francisco. The pork dumplings in chili sauce was our favorite; tons of flavor and just the right amount of spice. Perfection! My son had the shrimp lo mein and I couldn't believe how much this kid ate. Even after he said he was full, he kept coming back for more. I tasted it and I can attest that the noodles were garlicky and delicious. I had the Tonkotsu ramen and I must say, it's the best ramen I have had since moving to Denver. The pork was moist and perfectly seasoned, the egg was marinated perfectly, and the broth was delicious. My husband had the Thai pineapple chicken and enjoyed it. The lady who served us was so kind and checked on us several times to make sure everything was good. We had a great experience and will definitely come back. I highly recommend it!"
"Very glad this place opened up in the neighborhood! It's got a lot going for it. Very, very tasty. Decent portions. Good pricing (considering the economy). Very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, at least on my first visit! There is a limited number of tables, maybe eight or so, but there was no wait to be seated or served on a Thursday at lunchtime. There is ample private parking behind the building as well that serves the businesses in the complex. Definitely worth a try if you dig this kind of food!"
