Took the family here for breakfast. We've never been to a Black Bear Diner but have heard good things, so we decided to try brunch here on Saturday. We were able to be seated immediately. It's such a cute place. All the Black Bear decor & the delicious desert case we saw upon entry was very inviting & fun! We all ordered & it came out fast, hot, fresh & delicious. The portions are HUGE. Our server was awesome, very attentive. We will definitely be back!!!

Definitely not the pride of the fleet. Service was nice and the dining room was reasonably clean. But the food just didn't meet expectations. Club sandwich was uneven at best. Bacon was not crispy. Fries were stale. It's too easy to make fries fresh. Why serve fries out of a bin when you can cook them fresh for each customer? Black bear diners in general have become extremely inconsistent in food quality and service. The worst in the world is Emeryville California. Shasta Lake is one of the better ones. This one here in Aurora Colorado, definitely qualifies as not so good.

Everything here was good upon my visit. Service was quick and friendly. Food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The hostess was even able to get me seated right away on a busy Sunday morning brunch crowd. Interesting side note is that they print their menus on what looks like an old fashioned newspaper which also had trivia of when and where the Black Bear restaurant chain comes from. Good service all around.

Went back today with my husband. It's been awhile. I bragged about the Corned Beef Hash breakfast so he ordered it. It was lack luster to say the least. Barely a portion of corned beef and no potatoes! What?! I ordered the Parmesan crusted burger. It was edible but the burger lacked flavor. The fries were undercooked. Also their service was slooooow. Had to wait 10 minutes at cash register for someone to walk up front to check us out. While we waited a line formed for others to check out. So long it weaved into the seating area. Just seemed to be a lack of care all the way around today. Too bad.

It is so good to see that this restaurant chain still runs as it did when they started in Shasta Lake. Portions are huge to have some to take home. The biscuits are the size of a brick and so light and airy. They are so delicious. The staff are attentive and amazing and never let your drink go to empty. The prices are still way below what another high quality meal would cost you. Do your self a favor and slide in over to your nearest Black Bear for a home style meal that will not leave u broke.

We love this place however our visit today was very disappointing. Little details are always noticed and well today's Happy cub cakes were very sad and not done, we ordered 2 for each kiddo and they both looked bad and tasted a bit chewy and not fluffy like always. Try just a bit harder BBD
