Big Mamas Burritos

Big Mama's is big on flavor.It was our first official day in Colorado, it was Emily's birthday weekend and she wanted breakfast burritos to start it off on a delicious note. After a few minutes, she found Big Mama's Burritos and said that was our destination... so we all loaded up in Sammy's car and headed that way. As we pulled up, I made a comment about how I saw it on our drive into town just 12 hours ago. In the dark, it looked rundown and closed. In the summer morning sunshine, it didn't look much better but in we went.On the wall across from you as you enter, they have a white board with their daily specials on it. The deal is a burrito for $5 with egg, potato, meat, cheese, and chile. The meat inside is what rotates daily and Saturday happened to be ham. I bought Emily and my burrito and it was only $10 and change. Not knowing the size of the burrito, we didn't know if that was a good deal or not.We waited in the small building while people kept pouring in and ordering food. While there is room to sit down and eat, there isn't much space if there's anyone else seated. I made the mental note that despite the look of the place, the amount of people coming and going was a lot. After about 10 minutes, all 4 of us had our burritos and we headed out to get coffee and continue the day.We stopped at Subjective Coffee to get some caffeine and eat our haul. As we unrolled our burritos, you could tell it was filled to the brim. Emily and I dug in first since Sammy and Kero were still waiting for their coffees. The first bite was pure bliss and each bite after that only got better and better.For $5, this may have been the best burrito I have ever had. Sure, I've had fancier ones and bigger ones but for just the price alone... this was the best thing ever. Emily, Sammy, and Kero thought the same and we were all delighted that despite the shady look of the place... we had some bomb burritos to start our day.We stayed in Colorado for another 3 days and there wasn't a day where I didn't mention how I would be okay with going back for more. Even if the food was just so-so, the price alone made it worth it... not with just how expensive everything is getting but with how pricey Colorado can be.Big Mama... whoever you are... you have a BIG fan in Central Illinois.

I saw a video about Big Mamas burritos. Was in the area so I thought I'd stop. They buckle and dine you for everything on your burrito. Was ok tasting but not worth the price

Good burritos. Great price. They do take orders over the phone. Doesn't have drive-thru. Great service. Inside is a really small place.

Co- workers keep talking about this place and how it's so good. So I decided to check it out. It's a little mom and pop restaurant that makes excellent killer burritos. Big and filling with all the right ingredients and spices. I had a breakfast burrito and the bacon inside was thick and flavorful. I'll come back for more delicious flavors.

I'm giving 5 stars on the price on the specials, 99 cent taco tuesdays are the one. There 2 dollar burritos are a great value! There burritos are bigger than most other places! There green chili is fire! don't sleep on this place

I've been going here for ten years, as I live down the street. About a year ago, their burritos started being 85% potatoes w/ the tiniest amount of eggs mixed in there somewhere, although you cannot even taste them. Hardly any green chili. I ordered a Big Mamas burrito with double the meat & green chili and an extra egg. There was no double meant, hardly any green chili and no extra egg. Such a disappointment and waste of money. The quality of what was my favorite burrito restaurant is now below par.

Food and service excellent! Can't wait to visit Colorado and eat there again. Close to softball fields.

THE BEST breakfast burritos you'll ever have Customer service is great, and they had our food ready less than 10 mins after ordering! Fresh, hot, and delicious! I got the bacon breakfast burrito smothered with medium chili! Ignore all the haters giving less than 5 stars. Probably a bunch of Karen's looking for somewhere to spread their hatred.

I went hungry this morning as no one came to the drive up window for the 5 minutes that I waited. Sign says OPEN. A restaurant only needs to mess up once or twice before ya give up on them. Guess I'll find a new location to get my breakfast burrito fix. There are numerous option along Federal. I'll let ya know what alternatives are out there. But I'm giving up on Big Mama's.
