Yum! I've been meaning to try this place for a year now. I finally went in to have a beer (I got the west coast IPA) and it really hit the spot. The was so much seating and games to play. The bartender was very kind and fast. This would be such a fun place to meet up with friends

We met up here on a Monday night for book club. This was the perfect spot. It wasn't too busy and they were nice enough to let us use their side room for our small group. I had their stout, Deck Hand. A couple times over. The beer tenders are knowledgeable and make good recommendations. The atmosphere is layer back. We were able to have a great discussion about our most recent read. The other bonus to coming here is being part of Edgewater Market. There were ample food selections for everyone to get and bring back down the hall to Barquentine.

The whole top row of their selection of beer was my kind of stuff. We got flights and tried pretty much all of them. The bottom row is the hoppier stuff. Sitting by the open doors was nice because it was so hot out, but I was still in the shade. You can bring your own food in since they don't serve any.

Went here on 10/14/23. Went here for a company show. They are in the public market and then there are tons of stuff around there. Friendly bartenders. Fun atmosphere. Tried the mango blonde and pineapple saison. Just mediocre. Not much flavor in the beers. But that's for other people to decide too. Cheers!

Cool brewery an also a nicer quieter area to eat your food compared to other parts of the food hall. Also they have an amazing playlist. Service was super friendly. They do have a seltzer option which is nice. Really spacious and has a patio.

Barquentine has an amazing success story. At face value, it's a story of resilience and adaptation. Why you ask? Because they opened the doors of their beautiful taproom two weeks before the pandemic lockdown.A brand new brewery. With a large space. Inside a food hall. And to the naked eye, you would think they've been slinging beer at this location for a decade with no hurdles or hardships. I cannot begin to comprehend what businesses went through during the pandemic, let alone having your grand opening before the world flipped upside down. All that aside, Barquentine is a Belgian-style brewery on the west end of Edgewater Public Market. They boast a comforting, old world meets new world taproom. There's an outdoor patio and tented seating courtesy of the market at large. You can bring any of the food from the market into the taproom. Bring the pups and drink some patio beers! The owner and head brewer, Kyle Knudson, is a delight. A passionate beer slinger who finds content honoring old world methods paired with experimentation into the unknown. He takes chances, listens to his customers and finds a perfect balance of tradition meets creative freedom. My go-to beers are the following. Leapling Kveik Pale Ale, Sea Bear Saison and CherriTime Cherry & Blood Orange Ale. Mixed in are plenty of seasonals and hefty Belgian golden strongs.Barquentine is here to stay!

I came here on a night of brewery hopping. I came close to their closing time so I just got two beers and went on my way. The beer was okay but not great. I wish I could've tasted more but it was late.

This is a prime location and it's nice to have the option to run over to get food. I loved hanging out here for sure. In terms of drinks, I went with the seltzer, which was close to flavorless. I'm not sure if this was the intent. It was okay. I can tell the beers weren't great either as my thirsty friends were not thirsty enough to indulge like they normally do (not to mention I got their feedback). Maybe as time goes the quality or taste will improve, as it does as a lot of places.

Would hope to get some management review. Bartender neck tattoos mutton chops actively neglected 10 paying customers from playing a supplied board game and ordering more drinks . Our whole party felt unwanted and uncomfortable. Personal jokes were also administered to our group under sober circumstances. We sincerely hope that new personnel is considered as we really enjoy this establishment.

Excellent beer, including styles you don't find at every brewery, like hazy white IPA, cherry blonde and Saisons. Staff is friendly, space is open and inviting (indoor and outdoor seating), and being in Edgewater Public Market, there are lots of interesting stores and food nearby. Highly recommend.
