Delicious lattes, great service, clean interior! I always miss Hawaii so I love this little piece of Hawaii we have here in Denver. I got a hot white chocolate almond milk latte and it was so good. My boyfriend got an iced beach bliss and they even added coffee ice cubes rather than regular water ice cubes - genius! I've never seen another establishment use these. I will definitely be back.

This store caught my attention while I driving northbound on Speer just the other day. I was on my way to go to this hand pie shop on 38th and Tennyson neighbor so at that mall, I knew I'd stop by this place on my way back. And I did. And I had no regret. Friendly service: This is the number one reason for my 5-star review. The young man behind the counter greeted me with a most pleasant "Aloha" to which I said "Aloha" back. I know a Hawaiian (after watching "Lilo and Stitch" hundreds of times when my daughter was young!!) The other word I know is "Ohana". Well, let's get back to the review, shall we??He asked me if it was my first visit to Bad Ass (yes, it was.) He then elaborated a lot on the fact about coffee farming and how the farmers who cultivate the coffee beans manually harvest and pick them with absolute care. Then the donkeys carry the beans down from the farm to the farmers' place for processing (hence the store name"Bad Ass") The beans are then shipped to CO and they are roasted in Centennial before they arrive at the store. It appears that they take pride in this rigorous method/process. While I was taking the time looking at the menu, he kindly made a suggestion as to what I should get me. It was a very cold day so I knew I'd go with something hot. When I said I wanted a latte he asked me if I would consider mocha with a hint of banana. He said if I would want more than two shots of espresso in my latte (since I told him I wanted something stout), he guaranteed that mocha and banana syrup would not make the drink too sweet (because I was concerned about the overall sweetness.) I appreciated his suggestion so I took it. A lady barista who made my coffee was also friendly and paid attention to detail. Before she handed me my latte, she asked me if I wanted a stopper for the spout (I said yes to this one.) Their stoppers are not those plastic sticks; they are tiny stickers that have the store logo of the donkey. They are so cute!!I looked around a bit to appreciate the decorations on the walls before I headed out. As you might have guessed they are all Hawaii themed. From a surf board shaped ones to simply framed photos, everything tells the story about this unique shop. The store is a good size and some seatings are available. Parking is plenty although to enter the parking lot, it might just be the northbound Speer (or northbound Federal (the intersection is quite large and busy with constant traffic.) My latte wasn't too sweet and the slight hint of banana was there but not too overpowering. Like he said, it mellowed out the three shots of strong espresso taste. Nice job to the female barista to echo the guy's guarantee.

The service is exceptional, the guy taking our order was so helpful. He made great suggestions and made us feel welcome and not rushed since it was our first time in. Our drinks were very good, my latte was hot for a good hour! I loved the spam and egg sandwich, the bun was very buttery and soft. The seating is ok, metal chairs which are hard but they were fine for the short time we were there. I joined the club so I'm going back for my free drink and more!

I forgot to take a picture but this place had really great service! Person taking my order was extremely friendly and gave recommendations. Their merchandise was also pretty cute too. The coffee themselves seemed super interesting. Lots of unique flavors and my fiancé was very interested in the fruity drinks. I think I ordered the snickerdoodle latte and I asked the barista to make it less sweet but it was still ultra sweet so I had to fix it at home but if you're into ultra sweet coffee this is the place for you!

Bad Ass Coffee took over the old Starbucks on Speer. The coffee is better than Starbucks... But nothing great. Also I tried the spam breakfast sandwich and I've got to be honest, it was not good. The ingredients didn't seem very high-quality and the bread was over toasted and tough to bite through. Seating isn't very comfortable, there are only a couple places to plug-in if you're wanting to sit and work.Three stars only because the staff was very friendly.
