Atwood

We stopped in here after a meeting downtown and were desperately hungry for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with Atwood - it was attached to a hotel, and reasonably priced for being a hotel restaurant downtown, though still pricier than what we might expect in other parts of the city for what we got. The food came out fairly quickly and was pretty good. We ordered wings as a starter and sandwiches for our dinner. We left full and pleased with our dinner. Service was a bit slow, though friendly enough. The space itself had some beautiful charm, though I wasn't a huge fan of needing to leave the restaurant and go down a flight of stairs (stair access only from what I could tell) to a weird basement for the bathroom. Some of the furniture upholstery was in really rough shape - multiple rips and cushions exposed on booth style bench seating and a few barstools. However, in a pinch for a downtown dinner, this did a great job.

Might be my favorite place to work on my laptop, grab a nosh, and have a glass of wine. Service is always kind.

I came in and it wasn't crowded at all. The service was spotty, but I can't complain. I had the grilled cheese and it was pretty good, but slightly greasy on one side from the bacon jam. Next time I will order it on the side. The arugula on it was odd, as when it's grilled it's bitter. I would come back again, but definitely order something different.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday - it was surprisingly not busy, only a few tables were seated. I hadn't realized Atwood is attached to a hotel, so I got the feeling the clientele was a mix of corporate people out to lunch (me) and hotel guests. I liked the interior of the restaurant; it's modern and light but simple, definitely feels like a hotel-connected restaurant. The servers were kind too!I've noticed new-American restaurants like this (esp when connected to hotels) tend to not have much special about them. Although the food was good, the portions were decent but not generous and nothing really wowed me. I got the tacos which came with 3 and they were very tiny. The best part was the pico de gallo on top. The chicken itself was saucy on the outside but a little dry in the middle. The part that really threw me off was the chips. I would have liked for it to come with some salsa or something too rather than just plain chips. I found myself deconstructing my tacos so that I had something to eat with the chips! Overall a decent spot for a simple meal. The menu is quite small but there is a variety.

If you're in the theatre district and are wanting food before a show, Atwood is a spot that is conveniently located next to a lot of theaters. I went to see ~Hamilton~ and got the prix fixe theatre menu for $39. Now i've never tried anything else other than this fixed menu, so this review is only for this. I was honestly underwhelmed and wouldn't get it again. The food portions were fairly small, and nothing exciting or exceptionally tasty (not worth it in my opinion; you're better off just ordering a main off the original menu; you aren't saving too much $$ either).

We went for a quick bite in between our sets from Verse Immersive Chicago (great fun experience) and we stayed for a more satisfying meal. Cocktails were savory and good mixology. The food was delicious.We shared the Cubano and the Truffle Mac & Cheese - both tasty and zesty in their own way. The Mac was succulenty creamy. The ambiance is simple, beautiful, lively bit not hectic, cosmopolitan stylish fitting to Chicago. The service was fantastic, no rush, and helpful. We enjoyed ourself more than we expected that made us late for the next round of immerse virtual playing, we were given an extension so we will be back and most likely stop for a bite again

Came here for brunch. Took a while for any to acknowledge or seat us. Took forever for anyone to come to our table while seated so we left. Terrible service.

I would not come back. Better places for the same kind of food.Cool atmosphere and decent service. Our server was very friendly. However, when we got here we were told we could only order beer and wine temporarily as the bartender was not in. Not his fault but still unfortunate.I ordered the Atwood burger. The burger was slightly overcooked from medium which is what I ordered but still ok. The bun however was definitely stale and too hard around the borders. (No, not due to toasting). The side salad was really good.From my friends, the frijoles charros and loaded potatoes were really good. No complaints.The one thing that sealed the deal for me not coming back was the fact that there were so many gnats. This usually means the kitchen or bar is not clean enough. There were 4 or 5 gnats flying around us at our table non stop. I think they need to deep clean and make sure they get rid of the gnats. They also need to make sure that food quality is up to par. Stale bread is unacceptable.

I came here for dinner and ordered their holiday special menu. The restaurant was busy, so I made a reservation with the host for a table set up at 6 pm. I returned to my hotel room while I waited and returned downstairs just in time for my dinner. I sat by the front window overlooking the busy streets with all the shopping areas and holiday decorations.The service was prompt and fast, and I got my food in less than 25 minutes. I ordered the Hamilton Prix Fixe menu and got the house salad, short rib, and brownie a la mode with two red wine glasses. The vibe of the place is chill and casual. This restaurant is convenient if you stay at this hotel and want to avoid dealing with the cold weather outside.

The jerk chicken rub wings are always a good choice along with the chicken nachos.My co-worker and I split the meal because of the serving size. The service is always great. Our server Sandra was warm, engaging and with quick service. This place is a great lunch place to visit and dine!!!
