My husband and I dined here on a date night. This place is small AND IN THE BEST WAY! It is the most quaint, cozy restaurant! Ambiance was absolutely AMMMMAAZZZINGGG. Service was AMAZZZZINGGGG! The only people working were the cook, one server and the owner (who also was serving, being the sommelier all while running the whole place and he did a phenomenal job!!!) Our food was spectacular and this was the first time I tried oysters and LOVED THEM. I now love them and want them everywhere we go haha. They have a wine shop connected to the shop so you can walk around and pick the bottle you want and the server will bring it to your table. LOVE THIS CONCEPT. It was so fun! YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE. I'M SERIOUS!!!

We enjoyed a very tasty dinner last Saturday night. The ambiance is decent - nothing special in a medium sized rectangular room with some oil paintings on the wall and the tables following the lines of the walls so it felt somewhat "linear", if the tables were turned at 45 degrees it would feel a lot softer. We brought our own bottle of Turley Zinfandel and it is no longer available however we asked just in case and they said no, however they did not suggest any other offering as a substitute. We also requested salt and pepper at the start so that we would not need to ask for it later and they never brought it, luckily we never needed it. Those few items along with no bread service and a lackluster dessert brought it down to four and a quarter stars from a solid four and a half which would have been rounded up to five.On to the meal! The amuse bouche was a fried triangular wonton crisp with steak tartare with a hint too much mustard and an almost cooked color - not a nice red as one would expect. It was fine however the lack of acidity and freshness brought it down. The first real course was the best of the night. Three decent thickness slices of yellowtail tuna on a delicious and light ginger wasabi vinaigrette with freeze dried corn, red onion bits, salsa verde dollops and drops of lime oil. The flavors were incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. We could have had two more plates of this and called it a night! The next course was a salad with frisée, roasted red and yellow beets, blue cheese and a very tasty toasted hazelnut dressing. The pasta course was hand cut spaghetti a la chitarra with smoked pork belly and a few drops of salted egg yolk. It was rich and had great flavor, just a tad too small at four forkfuls. The main was filet mignon with a pink peppercorn poivre sauce, a few roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, some parsnip purée and an onion jus. The meat was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked.Dessert was a strawberry shortcake basically in a small glass jar. It was quite sweet and good but not elevated enough for a tasting menu. Service was professional and efficient. We will most likely return for another special evening.

Surprising little jewel in the heart of a strip mall! Literally from the outside Atlas Bistro is an inconspicuous and almost hard to find place, which really piques your interest. The food and the presentation are beautiful and the portions are on the smaller side. Typically what you'd find in a higher gastronomic dining experience. However if you require larger food portions then this may not your place. Some other things to consider; You have the option to bring your own booze. However they have excellent wine and champagne on offer. If you prefer a cocktail, simply consider bringing something along or going somewhere else for a drink beforehand.Despite the size of the restaurant , they definitely have the capability of serving larger crowds, as we were part of a larger crowd when we dined there. They did a nice job and were very attentive during an additional champagne and hors d'oeuvres hour beforehand which was a elegant touch. The dinner itself took three hours, which is nice for those of us who are looking for somewhere to linger with friends and drink wine Service was good but spotty as some of the fellow guests thought the service was 'transactional' and not warm. Overall I found this to be a surprisingly pleasant experience you would find in a big city restaurant like LA or New York.

I can't believe I haven't already left a review for this place because it is fantastic! Truly a hidden gem! Everything on the set menu was outstanding and I loved all the different flavors and dishes. There were seven of us, none of us had been here before and we all LOVED it! The wine sommelier was a young woman and we so enjoyed her enthusiasm and knowledge and she steered us to some really great wines that were very reasonably priced. Have your taste buds ready for a delicious experience!!

This wonderful little bistro and wine shop are definitely "under the radar" here in Phoenix. Tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, this establishment has fine dining and wonderful wine adventures written all over it. The fixe-prie five course meal was as good as those we have had at Michelin Star restaurants, for a lot lower price. The wine shop is surprisingly well stocked with wonderful selections and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with both food and wine. We brought several of our own bottles in for our party of six and really enjoyed how the staff served them and matched them to our courses. Overall, a wonderful small restaurant with exceptional food and service. 5 stars for sure.

Hot damn! You can work for Yelp and still realize that you know very little about the F&B scene! For some odd reason, I THOUGHT Atlas Bistro was a relative newcomer to the scene, opening a couple of years earlier. Reality? 20 years in business! I can assume that I must have heard some buzz about Atlas a while ago and attributed it to them being new in town. The more important point is that when a place is still generating buzz (and revenue!) after two decades in the game, this is a restaurant well worth checking out. I LOVED my dinner here. Everything about it was flawless. From the service to the wines to the courses, this was such a great experience. It's been some time since I've had a meal I'm genuinely enthusiastic about. That says something when I visit so many restaurants. To be clear, I came here as part of a dinner group and I'm not sure how much our meal deviated from the norm, but I don't think by much. Everything is a prix fixe menu. I was told that Atlas Bistro is one of the few restaurants in town with a BYOB policy (corkage: $25). As a bonus? They have an incredible selection of wines available for purchase at decent prices. I enjoy wines but am by no means a connoisseur. However, one person in my group is a wine expert and was simply raving about the wine selection. The only thing that I found a little odd is that even if you buy the wine from them, the corkage fee still applies. But whatever. Since the menu rotates, I'm not going to address many of the dishes that we had other than to say they were excellent. Everything was prepared with heart, portions were good, and flavor was front-and-center. I can't imagine coming here and having a bad meal. Our dessert course was a cheese plate which I found odd but it was delicious! Due to the set menu nature of Atlas, I would recommend checking what is being served in advance if you have dietary restrictions or preferences. Someone in our group requested that the steak be swapped out for fish which they were able to accommodate, but I personally found inappropriate given the style of the operation. Another thing that I loved was the intimate environment. Reservations are key for a few reasons. One is that they're only open a few nights a week and they take off most of July and August (book those reservations now!). Additionally, there aren't a whole lot of tables which I found to be a plus. Atlas Bistro works for everything from an intimate date to an intense business discussion. It's rare to find that. As if you couldn't already tell, I am a convert to the cult of Atlas Bistro! Don't tell anyone I didn't know about this local gem before. Haven't been? Book now!

Don't let the strip mall fool you, this is one of the best meals in Phoenix. We went before under a different chef and it was alright, but have gone twice in the last year with Chef Jabari and each dish was incredible. Great service, nice wine selection next door. Will be back soon!

This is the best restaurant in Arizona. Anyone can make a great beef and some reviewers think they deserve a Michelin star but they are all wrong. Atlas Bistro is by far the most creative and deserving of 5 star review. The perfect selection of top wine, fabulous food and perfect service... Best of all is there are only a few tables so it is great not to have to share this with the football team who comes dressed in T-shirts and knows nothing about fine food... Ocean Club.. you and the football team can be besties....

What a hidden gem! We had the five course chef's tasting menu last night. Everything tasted absolutely wonderful, special sauces, and flavors made for fantastic tasting experience and an unforgettable evening. Todd was an attentive and professional waiter. He described each course perfectly. The dining room was not busy or noisy, great acoustics. We will return.
