ATL Blu Water Seafood

Stopped by after hearing about this place for the past few weeks. Got the Blu Water Shrimp and the Shrimp & Fries. I really wanted to try the Geechee Girl Plate which was this week's special. It had fried catfish, collards, and sweet potato soufflé. Next time. The special sauce on the Blu Water Shrimp was delicious. It had an ever so slight kick at the end. The fried shrimp was lightly breaded and delicious. The fries were good too. Good size portion, especially for a food truck; that's well appreciated. The service was nice and friendly as well. I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying some of the specials.

Always a pleasant experience here. Love that it is black owned. I try something different each time. The Blu Water Shrimp and Catfish was yummy. One thing I would say is that you never know what they actually have until you get there, so it's an adventure each time. Hope these folks can get a location soon!

Will definitely be back, was amazed with the portion size, but more than that was the excellent flavor of my catfish, best I've ever tasted.Go ahead and give them a shot and find out for your selves what you been missing.

I never go to Douglasville but I happen to be there because I needed to get my dog vaccinated and the only vet that was open within my timeline was in Douglasville. I had two hours to kill before my appointment, and I was hungry so I checked out Yelp for restaurants close by. To my surprise the only place with a 5-star rating was Blu Water Seafood and it was listed as a food truck! I was apprehensive but decided to check it out. They are parked in the Chevron gas station and parking can be a little challenging. The staff is friendly, seem to have a lot of repeat customers and have a good variety of fish. We got the shrimp/fish combo for $15. We ordered the shrimp blu water style, which has a sauce that covers the fried shrimp. The sauce is like a sweet buffalo sauce. The shrimp was high quality, big and delicious. Our fish was flounder and it was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. It comes with a generous amount of fries and plenty of tartar, ketchup and hot sauces to use at your leisure. The meal overall exceeded my expectations and made me want a second helping. If I'm ever in Douglasville again, I'm definitely coming back.

Today I was able to find where they were on Fairburn Road. They are at the corner of Midway and Fairburn Road. I have the signature item which is fried shrimp in sweet chili sauce. OMG it was so good. The fries are just fries but I also had the hush puppies, they were only $1 and I could have eaten 7 bags. Big yum on my part. I plan on going back for the Swai fish. I highly recommend Swai as a fish. The shrimp was not greasy and the sauce was just spicy enough. I am going back for the Swai and I bet the fried okra is great. The guy even felt sorry for my gimpy leg and brought my food to me. They were so busy but quick. They don't sell drinks so don't expect it. Don't let "food truck" turn you away. You will love it.

I wanted to like this place, but it was just average. First off the young man who took my order forgot to put the sauce in the bag. The food is cooked to order and the Oysters, Talipia and Shrimp were average. It wasn't seasoned well and tasted bland.. I like a really crunchy taste when I'm eating fried seafood, and none of the items were crunchy at all. Having lived in New York City and eating really good seafood, and in Atlanta, I guess I set my expectations pretty high based on the good reviews. I won't go there again.

Ok, I admit it. I was a little skerred to buy fish from a food truck along the side of Fairburn Road in Douglasville, but I checked my nerves and battled on through to order and eat from a fish truck on the side of the road! I'm glad I did! It was delicious! I got the flounder and shrimp combo with fries and it was cooked perfect. The only thing they did better was season my food with a wonderful flavoring with enough salt to ensure it was flavorful but didn't mask the fresh fish and shrimp tastes! I will add that the fries are just the basic Ore Ida frozen fry but even those were crisp and seasoned perfectly. It was the perfect meal for this Saturday afternoon by myself!

So happy they are back. Seafood Friday and Saturday They are by intersection of Highway 92 and Midway Road. Located in parking lot of local gas station with convenient entrance and exiting.

I visited only once when getting gas! Was excited to see seafood that was effortless to get for lunch/dinner.It's been a year I will admit and I should have posted sooner but it gives me no comfort conversely anxiety to give these ratings.I got desperately I'll and I am certain without going to a doctor it was from the meal I attempted to consume.I was initially visually concerned with the number of people working in such a tight space specially sanitation. Did not follow my first instinct and paid a dear price.Because I got I'll, I won't return nor can I support. Hopefully things have gotten the proper attention. I see they are still operating. I'm happy for them and wish them much success.

#1-Nice people, that's always a plus! But I only ordered from them once, disappointed! Ordered a simple catfish & fries...OK, my hot greasy fish was put on top of my fries in the same small container (who does that???), and by the time I drove home, 0.2 miles, my fries were SUUUUPPPPERRRRRR SOGGY :(. So, if you order from them, please ask that your fries be boxed or whatever separately.
