Asta, is one of the worst restaurants in Boston. My wife and I are both vegan and were excited to experience their tasting menu. We expected the small portion sizes but hoped for a variety of tastes and flavors to go along with the experience. Instead, what we received was a bland, uninspired mess of an evening. Each dish was worse than the next, leaving such a foul taste in your mouth that the wine pairing became mandatory as a palate cleanser. To make things worse, the quality of the food being served was below what you'd find at a traditional chain restaurant. From the limp cabbage to the "earthy" potatoes, nothing that was presented even came close to what you would expect from a similar dining experience elsewhere. Dishes were served at inappropriate lukewarm temperatures,"creative" dishes didn't mesh together(especially the raspberry potatoes), and there was really no experience or atmosphere to speak of.Possibly the worst part of all is that it took almost 3 hours from start to finish to end our horror of an evening. At the very least, they could have bought us all of our bland food quickly so that we could leave and find some joy literally anywhere else in the world. A meal for two with a shared wine paring costs $330. For the experience we had, I would have felt better about myself if I'd simply been mugged outside of the restaurant. At least that way I would have had the opportunity to resist being taken advantage of. If you are in Boston, and looking for a place that serves an enjoyable edible meal, please save yourself the trouble and avoid Asta at all costs. The combination of their prices, food quality, and lack of atmosphere make Asta truly one of the worst experiences money can buy.

It was a nice experience. The space is very nice, the staff was great and the overall ambience worked well. Food portions were ok for this kind of service and I was full by the time we were done. However the food was so bland. There wasn't a single dish that I'd consider memorable. Two of the dishes base was corn adding to the little variation in food. Dish presentation was also meh for a place like this. $18 for a mid tier glass of white wine seems like a lot, even in Boston.

*DINER ALERT!*My partner and I are foodies and accustomed to smaller portions with tasting menus, it's all about the flavors and ambiance. I'm also sensitive to post-pandemic staffing and food supply challenges. However the tasting menu at Asta is a COMPLETE RIPOFF. The first course (a tiny piece of charred leek) didn't arrive until 30 minutes in. The first 3 vegetable courses were each hardly even a full bite. The 4th dish- soft shell crab -- was also very small, and the next- duck -arrived cold. A few times our waiter asked how everything was, I gave honest answers and he just walked away without replying. Very subpar service for the price. We ended up going to halal guys after leaving Asta because we were still hungry. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant- it's a scam.

Insanely pretentious. Food portion is a joke. Courses tasted bland. Zero decoration. No ambiance whatsoever. Waiters gave out a really weird vibe. The whole experience is just preposterous.波士頓假裝B的餐廳。食物超難吃,份量少到一口就結束,餐廳零裝潢一點氣氛都沒有,服務生陰陽怪氣裝逼至極。吃到氣死人。離遠一點免得找罪受

Only 1 course has real meat. The rest of food is just veggie and the portions was so little. Overpriced for me. Th bill came out over $300. Not worth it.

Had an absolutely amazing time at Asta. We were invited to the chefs table/bar. From there we got to see the chefs prepare the dishes for us. The waitresses helped us pair some wine with our dishes. Each dish was more different than the other and each dish was amazing! Would definitely go back again!

I greatly enjoyed my meal at asta. Dishes were creative and delicious. The tasting was heavy on vegetables and being a meat eater I was surprised how satisfying these dishes were. Flavors were bold on the main courses l. The vegetable dishes were more delicate in flavor, but still very good.IThe staff is also very nice. I came solo and felt right at home. I will absolutely be coming here again. I was told the menu does change every few weeks as well. I forget the nuances of the dish but here is an overall review 1)White gazpacho salmon broth - very delicate. Very freshing. The salmon roe added some saltiness that elevated the dish 4/5 2)Some sort of pea salad wit mushrooms. Very simple and delicate with a bit of acidity. Very good though 5/5 3) Squash with mackerel and corn- so savory and delicious. Some crispiness added great texture. The mackerel really elevated the dish 5/54) stripped bass- another delicious dish. Perfectly cooked with crispy skin with a savory butter sauce to go with it 5/55) lamb saddle with stinging nettles- perfectly cooked. The nettles added great flavor to the unseasoned lamb 4/5 Supplement dishFoie gras perfect sear on top and perfectly creamy 5/5Invierno cheese over dandelion 4/5 tasty!Dessert Raspberry rhubarb sorbet- 5/5 refreshing and full of so much flavor Strawberry rhubarb with angel cake frosting? Very light and refreshing. Good way to end the night Highly recommend. Give this place a shot!

My wife and I went to Asta for dinner. They had a very good vegan and vegetarian selection and we got the tasting menu. Portions were very small and we left hungry. I had to eat again right after leaving. Food taste was interesting but not fantastic, especially given the prices. Service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful, atmosphere is also very nice.

I can't say that I would recommend asta. We didn't get served food until 90 minutes into our meal and then what came was a small cup of kombucha. Which after 90 minutes was just not suffice. No bread or anything in the meantime so if you come hungry then you're absolutely starving. I think after that was 2 asparagus and some sauce. I couldn't tell you what came after but I left hungry and poor. There was no communication about the wait and there was no compensation. You have many other options in Boston.
