The best place I have found since moving to Bloomington two months ago. It's also, possibly, one of the best Italian restaurants at which I have dined. We skipped past the apps to make sure we'd be getting desert. I ordered the Linguine al Fruite de Mare. This and Cioppino are my favorite Italian dishes. And this was right up there with the best. My wife ordered the Duck Breast with Mushroom Risotto and a Blood Orange Sauce. I'm not a duck fan but she absolutely loved it. We had both ordered desert, carrot cake for her and key lime cheese cake for me. Both were excellent. Service was excellent though out our meal was excellent. Our server was always there seemly without hovering. The restaurant has both indoor seating and a large outdoor area under a canopy. We dined outdoors.

Ascione Bistro has rapidly become our favorite brunch spot. The service from Gabriella was OUTSTANDING!Today we tried something a bit different for us, but the food was delicious as always! My wife had the Eggs Benedict (Poached egg, toasted English muffin, hollandaise) with short-ribs -- a great value at $16.00. I had The Egg Xperience (Two Eggs scrambled, rosemary potatoes, and nueske's bacon for $12.00.

Food 10/10 creative and diverse menu Service 10/10 every visit service from the host, server, bartender, and bidders was immaculate Ambiance 10/10 love the aesthetic of the restaurant including the outdoor and patio seating. Love ascione bistros brunch, need to go back for dinner. Just wish the bar was bigger and wondering if there will be any changes made with the new restaurants coming to the plaza soon.

Wow! What a local GEM. A friend and I decided to have a dinner on the town and wanted to try a local restaurant. We both have passed by Ascione so we decided to go there. The service was immaculate and the food was impeccable. The pasta tasted so authentic. The pricing was perfect we had a total of 3 drinks 2 entrees and one appetizer; our bill was about $100.

My hubby and I ventured to this restaurant due to a recommendation from a friend. They have a lovely patio covered and heated for the cool months. They have a nice wine list, which I will be back to try more. I had a glass of Riesling, which was ok. They are standard italian restaurant that service pasta, meats, salads, and fish. My favorite was the bread and happy hour maguerite pizza. That bread was fresh and hot! You have to ask for their happy hour menu! Boo to the hostesses and waiter for not providing that information when we sat down. I found that information on their social media page. My husband did not like the tuna tartar. The manager came out and chatted with us about the tuna. He assured us that the tuna was good, but my husband just wasn't a fan. I wasn't a huge fan of the octopus, but it was edible. I will definitely be back to try some of the happy hour drinks, bread, and enjoy their patio.

The service was amazing! I say this with a party of 12 who did bottomless. Our server made sure our glasses were topped off the whole time. There is a decently selection of food for brunch as well! From pasta, sliders, and your regular brunch offers. There was also a patio outside which would have been a perfect day for us to be out there.Linguine Carbonara: the pasta was al dente and full of flavor! Made sure to mix the egg in well to get it incorporated with the pasta. Would have loved a little more bacon, but overall portion was perfect. $16. 8.2/10

This upscale Italian restaurant has become the go to for celebrations in the neighborhood. Ingredients, preparation and presentation are top notch, as is the service level. The restaurant was busy when we arrived on Friday at 7 PM, but they were able to seat us immediately. Definitely don't plan on that always being the case. While looking at the menu, they brought us warm bread and olive oil for dipping. Also the Paper Plane cocktail I had ordered. The paper plane cocktail was created in Chicago. I went with the Duck risotto and my father with the Branzino fish. I think my dish was more attractively plated, but you can be the judge from the pictures.Certainly, the flavors were excellent. And there was enough duck meat for me. I did not try my father's fish, but he was quite happy with it. For dessert, my father gelato with strawberries. Gelato was very good. Strawberries were not really peak ripeness. Rather than specifying strawberries I think they should have just said berries and then used whatever was particularly good that evening.I had the affogato which is vanilla ice cream with espresso poured over it at table. The vanilla flavor was very present. The sweetness of the ice cream was set off nicely by the bitterness of the coffee. They have covered outdoor seating with heat lamps in winter and inside seating, which is comfortable enough without being in your neighbor's lap. I forget which glass of wine I ordered, but it's bouquet was a little musty even after 10 minutes. They took it back without objection. I ordered the Barbera instead. That was a very nice glass. As Arnold might say, "we'll be back!"

Decent Italian food. We visited Bistro Ascione on a Friday night, and it was busy but there were tables available. House music played that was hard to hear over the buzz of conversation. I ordered the gnocchi to eat and the red sangria to drink. Before we ordered, a server brought out bread with olive oil. Our food ended up arriving before our drinks. The sauce was uninspired although the gnocchi was almost perfectly cooked. The sangria was drinkable, but I have tried better. After we finished the first serving of bread, we were offered a second serving of bread. We accepted the offer, but were never provided with the additional bread. Overall, we had a reasonable time at Ascione Bistro, but we have certainly had better dining experiences.

An excellent Italian restaurant with excellent service in Hyde Park, near the Museum of Science and Industry. Service is prompt and excellent, food was delicious and fairly priced for the quality, with a wide variety of options. My group was very impressed with everything we had, including the Taglioli with black truffle, the sea bass special, the house meatballs, the Caesar salad, the Lamb Chops, the Italian fries, the key lime pie, the chocolate mousse, and the chocolate cake. It isn't cheap--be prepared to pay $50-$100 per person depending on what you get--but the prices are reflective of the quality. We sat on the patio, a quiet and beautiful location with a nice fountain bubbling behind us as the sun set. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a more upscale Italian option in the Chicago area.
