This restaurant has the best Italian food in town. Nino provides superior service! Every item is fresh. Tiramisu is a must try!

Summery: low sodium, great service, entertainingIt is located in La Mesa next to the 8 freeway in a small plaza sharing the parking lot with a charter school and couple other stores. We went for dinner on a Tuesday to celebrate a birthday so parking was not difficult and it was not super packed but still busy for a weekday dinner time. It is not located in a busy area so you would have to know to get here. We made a reservation on open table just in case but wasn't really necessary for a weekday. We started off with the Fritto Misto (mainly calamari) and it was really soft and not salty at all. So it wasn't heavy to have before our main dish came out. All of their pasta dishes were also less salty and the pasta didn't taste heavily seasoned. It might feel a bit bland for those who like salty food but for our family, who likes less salty food, they were perfect. The portions were pretty big as well and we all had leftovers to take home. Whatever ingredients you saw written on the menu, you would see an abundance of them in the dish, which was great. If you are looking for a saltier pasta dish, get the Pecorino cheese wheel pasta as that is saltier than the Parmigiano wheel. The type of pasta you get with the cheese wheel is chef's choice and the price is market price. I paid $35 when we ordered it (June 2024). The lamb dish was also good (not too much of the lamb aftertaste) and the seasoned fries were amazing. We wished we ordered an extra fries on the side. If you are celebrating an occasion, please let your server know as they will bring out a complimentary slice of cake and will cheer you on while your party sings the song (if a birthday). If you want a fun table side show, order the cheese wheel and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was amazing which we think is because the espresso was really good. Not too heavy and good to share one at the end of your meal.

I was so excited to check this place out and got to stop by for a weekday dinner!The ambiance was fun, and the service was good. I tried the Fungo Ripieno, Pappardelle Pistachiosa and Gnocchi Sorrentina. The presentation was lovely, but the dishes weren't very flavorful and tasted bland. I was disappointed that they were out of Tiramisu, too, but I tried their cheesecake, and that was delicious!Overall, the menu has many great options, so I'll definitely be back to try something new next time.

Food:Crispy burrata - 3/5, needed more flavor in my opinion. Didn't think it was that special Stuffed Mushroom (I forgot the name) - 4/5 I liked the overall flavor of this dish. Would pass on thisService:Service was great. Servers were kind and attentive. Had my first cheese wheel experience and it was amazing to see it all happen in front of you 10/10 experience. Was also excited to experience their table side tiramisu but they were not making it the day I came due to 4th of July closure the day after.Ambiance:Very cute place that is IG worthy with a pretty floral wall for pics. Perfect for girls lunch or date night.

For sure a hidden gem! Cute little Italian spot with authentic fresh pasta dishes. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Staff have Italian accents which is super fun. We went for my birthday and I received a complementary piece of cake. the only reason why I didn't give it five stars because:the food is bland, no saltyou can only use the pasta that the restaurant choose of the day for the cheese wheel No kids menu, however the waiter recommended what to order for kidsCocktails were not strong, watered down.

Quaint Italian restaurant located in La Mesa, the interior is very aesthetic. Cute photos. Arrived shortly after opening, was greeted by a nice waiter. The service was prompt, menu is on the smaller side. The food was just okay, unfortunately I was not impressed with the options we got. The fettuccine was bland, lacking flavor. The carbonara was good, very greasy. I'm assuming that was from the bacon but I've never had such oily carbonara before. Unfortunately I'm going to chalk this up as a very cute establishment with mid food.

Came back on a Friday night dinner and had a really great experience. The cheese wheel pasta hit the spot for flavor and I got it in the pecorino cheese which was a little saltier. They do it tableside and it's fun to take photos of.The salmon dish my husband got was a huge filet and he said it was cooked perfectly. We saw another table order tiramisu for dessert and that was prepared tableside too with the coffee and ladyfingers and everything so we had to do it. It was really tasty and a big portion for two. I'm glad we came back, this spot is a neighborhood gem. The staff are all very nice.

3+ stars.... Aromi is good but not great in my opinion when compared with So many other great Italian restaurants we have here in San Diego. Unfortunately, it's located in a strip mall parking lot next to Highway eight in La Mesa. Interior is definitely modern, bright & charming, but gets quite noisy at times. For appetizers we started with the fungo ripieno & it was good. For entrées we had the pistacchiosa spaghetti with way too much burrata on top and the fettuccine , tartufo with chicken. Very average & Unfortunately Our server was rude & unfriendly.... Ciao !

Hubby and I checked out this place in September of last year. We sat outside since it was such a nice day, but be aware of the mosquitos! We tried the aromi and the burrata bruschetta. The presentation was nice and the bread pieces were big and tasty.Our drinks came out after. He got an espresso martini and I opted for a virgin mojito. Both drinks were refreshing. I was excited for my cheese wheel pasta! It was pretty good! Hubby wanted to try the gnocchi verde, which was pretty good.We ordered the tiramisu and it was made tableside. Overall, I had a good time here. The restaurant has some cute decor and a private dining area as well!

We went Sunday night to try this amazing spot in La mesa. Nino was the best, very attentive and professional, thanks for his suggestion. The food was delicious and everything amazing. Thanks aromi for the great experience.
