First thing said (most unloved from Texas BUT been here 8 years) I'm from CA. Most Chinese places only have steamed pork in their food. THIS PLACE HAS BBQ PORK!!! Note: ask for it or your dish will be steamed. No extra cost for the better pork either!I've never eaten here but I've ordered for delivery and many times they call and make adjustments in price to LOWER it based on my requests. AMAZING! The food here is the closest in 8 years I've come to CA style Chinese. I craved it for years and now I get my happiness. Thank you!

Ambiance is lacking but food is delicious. Typically order pan-fried dumplings and broccoli beef.

My wife and I have been going here for quite a while. I have tried multiple items on their menu and have always been pleased by the taste and the amount. The place may not be very fancy, but their food is good. My wife especially likes their Poopoo platter. Their BBQ ribs on the platter are really good. My wife really liked the homemade BBQ sauce. It is family run and they are very friendly. My wife is very picky as to where she will go out to eat, but I usually don't have to do too much convincing to get her to go here. I have tried their Moshu pork, beef and snow pees, sweet and sour shrimp and a few others and have not been disappointed yet. This is what many would call a hole in the wall gem of a restaurant, not very fancy, but great food. What would you rather have, fancy interior or great food. My personal preference is great food, so Ying Cafe is definitely that. Also, not sure why Yelp thinks I live in CA, I live in NRH, Tx.

First and last visit. Came specifically for egg foo young after some good reviews. Menu had several versions of egg foo young. They don't make egg foo young anymore. Really? How about crossing it out on the menu? Place was not appealing either. On the dirty side. Seemed busy with delivery orders, but no customers inside. Food was okay, definitely not great. Very disappointing.

Take out last Sunday, unfortunately it seems everything was tasting off. It's Thursday and most is still in the frig pending disposal. Egg rolls were tasteless.Brocolli beef - the beef had a over tenderize texture. Orange chicken flavor off. $76 later it all Left a bad taste in my mouth!

Ying Cafe6651 Hightower Dr Unit 300Watauga, TX 76148+1 (817) 427-8606yingcafewatauga.comGeneral: There are multiple booths and tables, quiet environment, we were the only ones here for dinner on Thursday. There may not be a crowd inside but the phone rang multiple times with orders. Those who came to pickup were older, giving me the feeling the longer term residents of Watauga know this is a good place. Wonton soup for 2: flavorful broth, and the best tasting wontons I've had in a long time Egg rolls: more spring roll type but very good Fried rice: served with chef specialties, lacking in flavor, needed more soy sauce and egg. Though I imagine the actual orders of fried rice plates would be good. White rice: served with chef specialities, I don't think you can mess that up. It was good rice, cooked thoroughly. The table did have a pouring jar of sweet and sour and we poured it over rice. Lemon chicken chef specialty: Overall good lemon chicken, it hit the flavors I was looking for. Serviced with chopped bell pepper, onion, pineapple, carrot and lemon mixed in. The chicken is stirred into the sauce, instead of on the side to dip. Really appreciate the sauce not being runny and more glaze like. Yings sweet and sour special: combo of shrimp, beef, and chicken covered with sweet and sour sauce. Serviced with chopped bell pepper, onion, pineapple, carrot and lemon. For 2 specialty plates (protein + rice + egg roll) and wonton soup for 2 we paid $32.75. And we are leaving with leftover protein and the soup broth! Will be coming again for the home cooked tasty Chinese food!
