This place is about customizing, experimenting, and savoring. What sets Yin Tang apart is it's unique concept, self-serve hot pot. Here's how it works:Grab a bowl and a tong, choose your ingredients go through the ingredient section, you get to handpick exactly what goes into your hot pot. Whether you're craving fresh veggies, noodles, tofu, seafood, or premium cuts of meat, the variety is impressive and the quality is great, select soup or dry at the counter, you decide if you want your meal served in a comforting soup base or prepared as a dry, stir-fried dish.Pick your spice level from 1-5, you can tailor the spiciness to suit your taste buds. The sauce bar is offering a wide array of options to mix and match such as soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, chili paste, cilantro, and moreThe pricing model is simple and practical, you're charged by the pound, so you have control over how much or how little you want. This is especially great if you're dining solo or with a group each person can build their hot pot to their liking without worrying about splitting a big order. The ingredients are fresh and packed with flavor, and the soup bases are just as great. The dry-style preparation is also deliciousYin Tang strikes a great balance between casual and refined. The space is clean and inviting, making it perfect for a quick lunch, a fun dinner with friends, or even a cozy solo meal. The staff here are friendly and accommodating

My favorite place for Chinese style hotpot or "malatang" in Carrollton! Yin Tang lets you craft your own by adding your own topping in a bowl. There are so many topping options to choose from and I see lots of ingredients I don't see at other places (like soft tofu, different types if intestine, etc). You can also select their dry version as well. There's nothing not to like.(4.5/5) Original Flavor Hot Pot SoupGosh this broth is to die for. It's so savory, flavorful, rich, with a bit of nuttiness. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it. I picked one less than the spiciest level but I could've done the max. Not very spicy!(4/5) Spicy Dry MixThis is the dry version which only comes in one flavor! It is nutty, saucy, and delicious. Picked the spiciest level and it was definitely spicy with chopped chilies in them. Highly recommend asking for a bowl of rice for the delicious mix at the end.

You can get your dish stir-fried or as a soup - we went with the soup based on the staff's recommendation.I tried the tomato soup, but the broth just tasted like straight tomato, which wasn't great. If you're vegetarian or don't eat beef, this might not be the best spot. But my friends had the beef broth and said it was super flavorful and savory, so I'd recommend that if you can have it.For the price, we got a lot of food and left really satisfied. There's a good variety of items to choose from, including plenty of veggies. If the tomato broth had been better, I would've enjoyed the experience a lot more and definitely come back. The service was friendly and quick, and everything was neat and organized. If it's your first time trying hot pot or malatang, the staff is happy to explain how it works, which made the experience even better.

Love love this place for their broth. It's creamy pork bone broth that makes everything that it's in taste so good. There's a great selection of meat, fresh seafood, vegetables and carbs to choose. You pay by weight and it's so easy to load up on too much veggies and pay more so be mindful! Tip: the soup bowl is better than dry bowl!

An establishment I would highly recommend should you desire to satiate your hotpot fix5/5 Food, high quality ingredients you can select to add into your soup, broth comes thereafter, original signature broth remains my favorite. Can select spice level as well.Small sauce bar but the essential options are there5/5 Service, of all the times I have went, soup comes out at a timely manner and servers were sweet and attentive.3/5 Ambiance, standard establishment, clean, nothing too flashy. Ample seating. Go to spot for quality and affordable hotpot. Not AYCE, pay by pound.

I finally tried Yin Tang and it was really good value for the money. I tried the dry pot while my boyfriend tried the hot pot. (The ingredients are all priced the same, incentivizing us to get more of the meat and seafood; it is all $14.99 a pound.) The employees weigh and cook it for you according to the dry pot or hot pot styles. My boyfriend got the hot pot, which was delicious with a warm broth and a sauce bar to create your own hotpot-like dipping sauce. The dry pot was different from what I expected - I thought it would be more like mala xiang guo (mala dry pot), but it felt like they had boiled the ingredients and sprinkled on sesame sauce (which was similar to what I could make at the sauce bar). So, I would recommend going here for the hot pot, which was really delicious. Especially as it gets cold, I will be coming here more often.

Yes, yes and yes!I love this place. It's not like the typical haidilao/little sheep hot pot flavors but it is delicious in its own right! This is a great way to only eat what you pick because they charge by weight- it can get pricey quick but it's worth it. This is how I can eat lots of veggies!Taste: 10/10- you pick the ingredients and it is what you make it but I love whatever I put together! The broth is so so tasty and the meat is fresh and juicy.Interior: 6/10 - clean but super crowded and gets packed hard to move around
