Wilfong's Cajun Shack and Oyster Bar

I get bored sitting at home, so I'll just take off to go eat someplace special. Wilfong's Cajun Shack is 2 hours from my house. Let's go! They open at noon, and I got there about 12:15. Only a couple of tables were taken, but by 12:45 it was packed. Popular place! It's my first time, so Shelby explained everything. I wanted to go big, but I didn't. Half pound of shrimp with corn and potatoes, and a half dozen oysters. OMG, what a perfect meal! I can't really do spicy anymore, and the shrimp was perfect. The music was just right, what you might expect on Jimmy Buffet's patio. I think the horseradish for the oysters, and the cocktail sauce for the shrimp might be made in-house, both were delicious. So, do I just tell Glenda about my wonderful meal? Hell no! I took home a dozen oysters and a pound of shrimp, which fed us both for 2 meals. Lots of food! And don't forget the 2 slices of cheesecake with the pecan crust. Devine! Prices are what you would expect for seafood, but you definitely get your money's worth. I will definitely return, so next trip, I'll bring home gumbo and some boudin sausage. Folks, Wilfong's is a place you need to experience, for the good time and the great food. See you soon!

We had a great experience at Wilfongs! It was our first time here and we already know that we will definitely be back! We got there about 6:45 and it was already full. There was one table available so we got seated and our waitress was there within minutes. She explained how everything worked and took our order super quick. We both decided on crawfish and they came with corn and potatoes as well. We didn't have to wait very long before our crawfish came out hot and fresh! They were HUGE! We really enjoyed them but we wished they had more seasoning. All in all it was a great experience! Just make sure you take cash though because that is the only option for payment.

We visited for the first time a few weeks ago not realizing it was BYOB. No problem, we took a short walk to a nearby gas station and picked up a six pack. We sat at the bar where we received friendly and attentive service from the oyster tender. Our waitress was also very friendly. I wish we had service like this everywhere we went. The crawfish was delicious and so were the oysters. Tbh I was terrified about the oysters when I saw how big they were; however, they were not "gulfy" or salty at all. They were cold, creamy and very fresh which was an absolute delightful surprise. I can't wait to go back with friends, family and a cooler.

Great tasting crawfish and shrimp with the fixings. Boudin is great too. You can take your own booze which helps overcome the pricey per pound boil. However it is in Bluff Dale and not on the coast but the seafood is definitely fresh.

This place is straight up great. Amazing food, atmosphere - everything! Wouldn't change a single thing and quite the gem. Some of the best crawfish I've had in a very long while. Popular for a good reason. We rolled up early at 5:30 Saturday knowing this and the place was already pretty full. When we left, there was a decent line to get in.

Always great food and fast and friendly service. Wilfongs is a terrific way to spend a weekend afternoon or evening. Laid back and easy. Customers are all happy and having a good time and servers are welcoming and efficient. Driving past you may not think about stopping...but do give it a try! Our favorite is the 1lb of shrimp with a bread bowl of Gumbo in a bread bowl. It's all outdoors and only a seasonal restaurant, so dress for the weather and be sure to get in during the Spring and Summer months.

Arrived early on a Saturday morning ( they open at noon). Was told to sit anywhere, cash only and byob beverages allowed. Menu is simple, nothing fried. Ordered the gumbo in a bread bowl. Gumbo was VERY good and included just enough heat from the diced fresh jalapeños!Sweet tea to wash it down.

Wilfongs has a special place in my heart. This place is as good as it gets.Cash only, BYOB, service on point, and food that never disappoints.Stephanie runs a fantastic joint. We try to get out here as many times as we can in the summer.

I live in Las Vegas. On their worst day, any restaurant or seafood buffet in Vegas is better than this. I don't know if it's a locals hangout and they just don't have many choices, but I was disappointed in myself for not sending the shrimp back. They were large, but very rubbery and HARD to peel. The little corn cob pieces were boiled to death, wrinkled like your fingers after two hours in the water. The little potatoes were decent. The crab legs were over cooked as well. Like fighting a bear to get anything out of them. The choices are few, and the prices are way expensive, they take CASH only. Anything more than soft drinks or tea you have to pack a cooler and BYOB. If sitting outside to eat in the heat, mosquitoes, and gnats while paying too much is your idea of relaxed dining, go for it. I've been here twice, my first time and my last time.
