Vernon’s Lakeside

This was our 1st time visiting Vernon's.Haley, our waitress is an asset to to Vernon's. Not only was she delightful and attentive, she was accommodating to my dietary needs!!I was so impressed with the menu, I decided to create a fish sandwich, with a couple of substitutions.On the menu it is called TABC on a Bun(Tomato Avocado Bacon top of grilled chicken on a bun).I substituted the grilled chicken for the Cajun grilled catfish! and Omitted the Bacon.The grilled Catfish sandwich was perfectly seasoned and balanced with the Avocado, cheese,tomato and toasted bun. It was definitely Heaven!!Thank you to Haley,the kitchen staff for making my delicious sandwich, and to the owner!! We will definitely be back!!

My brother and I are visiting from California. We took our dad there 3 times to enjoy live music, a drink, outside dining and food. Everything was perfect!! Thanks again !

Fun atmosphere on the lake. Great bar & menu selection. Burger was great along with wedge salad! Super cool speakeasy attached to it for fine dining.

Very inconsistent reviews - and it seems pretty easy to see why.This place ain't shiny. Yes, the tables outside are sticky. I saw them wiping one down, so when the seats were also sticky, we decided it was the paint. I think maybe a cheap paint never properly dried and it remains tacky (literally), maybe? Anyway, yeah, the outdoor tables are sticky. And there are a few flies, because, you know, outdoors on the lake.Lake vibes.Moving onto the important parts. Huge patio. Large dock where boats can park to come eat - or get food to go. Nice folks working there - folks up front were sweet and welcoming and our server was great. Once seated, we were greeted and drink orders were taken right away.Multiple burgers sounded good, so I got our server's recommendation. The guacamole burger sounded awesome and was easily her recommendation from my choices. How did I want it cooked? Admittedly didn't expect that question, given the place's vibe. I told her at least medium and maybe medium well, given ground beef can be questionable and I've felt horrible after a medium burger before. I told her I trusted her recommendation.The burger was a BEAST. See the pic. The cheese was insane. Tons of guac. Beef was very much on the medium side - lots of pink. I enjoyed picking at the outside of the cheese - crunchy delicious cheese chip yumness.House chips were yum. A few were soggy but most were on point.Shrimp in my wife and son's plates were awesome. Fresh and well seasoned. I got my son's mango salsa as well - and was glad he didn't care for it. YUM.Ice cream counter right at the entrance. Good call for a lake spot. We didn't partake, but it looked steadily busy.A little divy. And that's how we like it. Burger was awesome and service was super friendly and personable. Patio was what we wanted, even in the heat. It's the lake - gotta hit a place like this!

This place is great for what it is! We sat outside on the large patio, they have fans everywhere for the heat and a nice view. The service was consistent but don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. We ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, the smothered fries and the blue cheese burger. A little slow to get the food but when we did it was fantastic. If you're not in a hurry this place is fantastic.

This place is good to come to in Gun Barrel City. The food was easy, tasty, and delicious! I'm a fan! I would come back!

We had a great time here recently. The chips, queso and salsa were good. The tuna melt and chicken wrap were tasty. The food came out quick. The place is large and has a lot of seating inside and on the patio. The staff was friendly. The only thing we didn't care for was the flies, but it's right on the water so it's not their fault.

From a marketing stand point, these promo plastic displays need to be replaced. Very unattractive.The whole restaurant was filthy when I was there last. The floors were sticky. The server was sloppy and unkept. Wearing slides instead of server appropriate shoes. There were a lot of flys. Food was decent but I had to fight off the flys the whole meal. Obviously y'all do fine but it's unappealing to most. I'm definitely not trying to be ugly, just want to bring some things to your attention.

Always good food and good service! The queso is amazing, but comes in a container you would expect a side of dressing in!

BLT with avocado was very good. The chicken tortilla soup (special of the day) was barely warm and VERY salty. I sent it back. Also the salsa with chips is bland and the chips way over salted.
