Definitely a first date or business expense restaurant or one that you would take someone if you wanted to impress her. Gorgeous ambience. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday season. Bustling bar. The light up menu was novel. Great service. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was a little underwhelming, though. The branzino was well fillet but not seasoned enough. The relish wasn't quite to my palate. I did like my Sonoma greens. Overall a solid B for the food and A for the ambience and service. Giving it a 5-stars overall.

Truluck's is the shining star of fine dining, folks! We had our reservation set for 6:30 PM on a Thursday, but we decided to show up a little early at 6. Lucky for us, the place wasn't packed, and we were seated faster than you can say "table for two!"Now, let's talk about the service--it was top-notch! Our server was like a food whisperer, offering recommendations that felt more like a friend sharing secrets than a typical menu pitch. We kicked things off with the Lobster Bisque, and I've got to say, while we've always had a soft spot for the version at Perry's Steakhouse, this one might just give it a serious run for its money. Creamy, savory, and buttery enough to make you question why you ever settled for anything less. For my main course, I went with the filet mignon topped with Pontchartrain sauce and lobster thermidor. Let me tell you, this steak was juicier than a gossip column--perfectly tender and cooked just right. The Pontchartrain topping added just the right amount of zing, making my taste buds do a little happy jig. And the lobster? It was so buttery, I half expected it to ask me to dance! As for sides, we ordered crab fried rice, parmesan mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. The potatoes and spinach were exactly what you'd expect, but that crab fried rice? Wow! It had this unexpected coconut flavor that brought a delightful sweetness to the meal--so good that I could've easily ordered a second helping and skipped the rest of my meal. My wife kept insisting we need to come back just for that rice, and I totally get it!The atmosphere at Truluck's was just right for everything from romantic dinners to serious business meetings. You won't have to shout over your neighbor's conversation, that's for sure.Just a heads up--dining here isn't exactly budget-friendly. If you're watching your expenses, you might want to save this gem for a special occasion. Whether you're treating yourself, impressing a date, or sealing a business deal, Truluck's is the kind of place that makes you feel like a VIP. So grab your fancy attire and get ready for a night to remember!

My husband and I dropped in on Sunday evening. So we decided to sit in the Bar! Chris the bartender was very friendly and helpful. We decided on our favorite cocktails mine a martini and my husband Michelob light beer, then ordered the Stone crab platter! It was amazing, so tasty and fresh 2 sides included so we opted for truffle fries and broccolini. Everything was so delicious. We especially enjoyed the ambiance of the bar it's gorgeous! Everyone is friendly , and we will be back!!

My first time dining here was on Thanksgiving day. I tried to get a reservation last Thanksgiving, but they were completely booked so this year I made sure to book in advance! The decor was amazing, I loved the ambiance, it was a nice vibe. We arrived a little late however our waiter was really nice and accommodating! They have a prefixed Thanksgiving dinner for $59 which includes soup or salad, turkey, stuffing cranberry sauce and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We actually ended up not getting that an ordering from the regular menu. I got the steak frites medium and it was cooked great. Hubby got a seafood dish with rice pilaf, he enjoyed that. I got a cocktail which was decent but not very strong. For dessert we ordered the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake. I definitely want to come back to try their seafood which is what they're famous for!

Truluck's opened a location in the Plano area? Heck yeah, we must go! We've been to other Truluck's locations and always had a great experience. We know this location is new and still working out the kinks, but we just had to try it. The decor inside is beautiful. Will say the hostess was not the most enthusiastic upon our arrival, but perhaps it was a busy night for her. We were sat at our table shortly after our arrival, and it gave us a beautiful view of the room. My SO was especially impressed that the menus were backlit - so he did not have to use the light on his iPhone to view the menu. So many places like this have the lights so dim that it makes it hard for some to read the menu. Nice touch. We wanted to keep things easy and light - to focus on the entrees. We ordered Parker House Style rolls to share. My SO ordered the Little Gem Caesar, and I ordered the Tomato Salad. The rolls are divine. I could sit and eat those every single day for the rest of my life and be happy. Freshly grated Parmesan on top is the perfect finish. My SO liked his Caesar salad but did mention that it tasted a little anchovy heavy. My tomato salad - "naughty" was used as a description in the menu but I could've used a warning. My visualization of this salad would be slices of tomato with a drizzle of buttermilk ranch, and sprinkled with red onion slices and crumbled bacon. This was essentially a large tomato cut into a bowl and was literally filled to the brim with (no joke) almost 2 cups of ranch dressing. I sliced into a tomato wedge and an avalanche of ranch came pouring out. This is not "naughty". This is gross. I spent my time trying to scrape as much off of the tomato as possible. I would've said something but I just wanted to move past this and to the main course. Ate what I could and left the sea of ranch behind. My SO ordered the petit filet flight, which he absolutely loved. Cooked perfectly and flavors he enjoyed trying on a steak for the first time. I took advantage of the special and got the Australian lobster tail, prepped table-side and served with Parmesan mashed potatoes. Even though the lobster tail was delicious, I will say it could've used ~30 sec less cook time. It wasn't rubbery by any means but it was definitely slightly over. However, I've had lobster at similar restaurants where it was served raw in the middle. So I'll take slightly over vs raw any day. Mashed potatoes were delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sides we also received were crab fried rice and charred broccoli. The broccoli was barely cooked and had hardly any char on it - but still nicely seasoned. The crab fried rice was the biggest disappointment for me. My SO thought it was seasoned well, but I could barely taste anything. Also, the rice was extremely mushy. The texture of the entire side was just not to what I would expect and the crab was barely noticeable. For dessert, my SO wanted the Key Lime Pie, a must for any seafood restaurant. We each took a bite or so of the slice and decided it wasn't worth it. There was hardly any key lime flavor. The almonds were the only flavor detected and their texture took over the whole thing. Overall, the main meal components of the meal were quite good. Other kinks need to be addressed. Definitely will give it a go again in the future to see if these kinks have been fixed. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful - to which we are grateful.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Truluck's in Plano and was very impressed with the ambiance, food and service! Even though we had early reservations on a Friday evening, the restaurant and bar area were packed when we arrived on schedule. We checked in with the hostess and unable to find a place at the bar to start our night off with drinks, we sat in the entry area with others also waiting for tables. Honestly, this felt like the longest wait even though the hostess checked in with us when they were getting our table ready. It probably was a 20 to 30 minute wait. **Frown**When we finally were seated in one of the curved booths in the center of the restaurant, we relaxed into the setting and took in the lovely ambiance of the place. We have been to other locations, downtown Dallas and Fort Lauderdale, but the Plano restaurant is another level of ambiance! Just gorgeous! They also remembered it was our anniversary and had dressed the table with red rose petals and even gave us the cutest card with a personal message written inside. We both were impressed with the thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Our server Colby greeted us and we quickly stated off with drinks and the Parker House rolls. I tried the fun Viola! drink that is delivered to the table bubbling and smoky. So festive and delicious! My husband enjoyed the High Flier. For appetizer, I had to have the stone crabs and they did not disappoint. They were juicy and sweet and the mustard sauce was tangy perfection. My husband started with the iceberg wedge which was cool and crisp and enjoyed very much.We had the crispy battered lobster tails and the blue crab stuffed lobster tails for entrees and we split an order of truffle fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious! At the end of the meal, our server Colby treated us to the carrot cake that Truluck's is known for which is beyond decadent as it is drizzled with caramel sauce, topped with Texas spiced pecans and then drizzled with more caramel sauce. I ordered a coffee to go with the cake and did not know they offered French press coffee which was a real surprise and was an excellent ending to a fantastic meal. We are already planning another visit soon! A few tips: prepare to wait a bit when you arrive. Request a booth in the center of the restaurant to take in the ambiance. Ask for Colby as your server. He was wonderful. He had perfect timing stopping by our table and was friendly, knowledgeable, and even went the extra mile searching the kitchen to find almond milk for my coffee. **Smile**

The shrimp campechana is absolutely delicious! The shrimp and avocado are very fresh, the salsa is slightly sweet. The campechana is just like Goode Co. seafood in Houston's Campechana, which is the best. I sat at the bar and ordered this as a snack. Trulucks has the best spicy blackberry margaritas as well. I am very happy Trulucks has the campechana on the dinner menu now. The home cooked chips that came with the dish did not hold up, they were delicate and would easily crumble when trying to load a chip with the campechana. The Trulucks in Southlake use corn tortilla chips which worked better. Happy hour is always fun and the bartenders are great!
