Torchys Tacos

Torchy's has a fun atmosphere. I'm not a huge fan of their food because I don't like spicy but the rest of our party enjoyed it all (especially the hillbilly queso).

I've always had great experiences at Torchys Tacos. If you've never been, it's a restaurant where you order super unique delicious tacos that you don't normally see at a traditional restaurant. You order up at the counter (I highly suggest looking up the menu before hand as the names of the tacos don't mean anything compared to their ingredients) and then they'll bring you your food to your table. The portion sizes are very large so I would only consider ordering at most 2 unless you're REALLY hungry. They also have an awesome bar and their margaritas are actually really good. I also think they've got some of the best queso around, so check that out too! I believe their chips and salsa have unlimited refills as well, but I may be mistaken there Anyway, if you're in the mood for a unique taco experience, definitely check out Torchys!

Jennifer was the best. She was on point with all of our orders very attentive, sweet soul. She also offered suggestions for other cocktails on the menu. We ended up realizing that she makes the best bloody Mary in the area and we can't wait to come back next weekend again. They also do a taco of the month, which I definitely think you should try! I would say definitely ask the staff for their opinion on the flavor of the month because they do have a lot of unique flavors that are built into the meals so it may not be for everyone. Overall, I love the aesthetic ,kindness the generosity. Honestly this location is super cute. It has a lot of natural lighting so if you want to enjoy a midday cocktail this location would be a really amazing option. This location is fairly new near my neighborhood. It's been some years since I've been to a torchy's and remembered the queso standing out and the tacos, being unique, packed and flavorful. I have to say that the experience this time was a little disappointing, maybe because, my pallet has developed since my last visit. I ordered a Baja Shrimp, Green Chile Pork, Mr Orange and a Crossroads. The shrimp in the Baja was fried, and I did not like it. There's an option to get grilled shrimp, which probably would've been more to my taste. The highlight was the crossroads, with the green chili pork a close second. I have a soft spot for fish tacos, but unfortunately Mr. orange disappointed. We also ordered some queso which was substandard in my opinion. As a counter service place, the service was as expected. They made a mistake with our receipt and added some items we didn't order and were quick to remove them for us. Overall a pretty positive positive experience from the crew, but I won't be hurrying back here for the food.

Ordered breakfast tacos to go and they were ok. Order was ready and waiting for me at the convenience pick up area. I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes as they were a bit too fun for my liking. The chorizo was good and had plenty of flavor but the brisket was subpar by Texas standards. I would come back to try other taco options they have outside of breakfast tho.

The food was very tasty, but served cold; it was not busy (only one other person in the restaurant other than me), so there was no excuse. Don't like the kiosk ordering;if you don't order on the kiosk (ie.. salsa) you won't get with your meal.This is my first time at this location and I think I will stick with the location in the hospital district off 8th Ave; much better service and the food is always warm/hot.

If you don't know about Torchy's, it's an Austin concept for quick gourmet tacos. They are soft tacos on corn or flour tortillas, and they have a monthly promotion for a speciality taco. If you don't know, get the Trailer Park taco and get it Trashy...it's the taco they built the chain on! They have even added a Beyond Beef taco for people seeking vegan or vegetarian options.If you are familiar with Torchy's, this is the brand new addition to the Alliance corridor. The margaritas were 3 sips. When I was finished, the glass was completely still full of ice! Need a little more balance for a $10 house margarita, you don't really need to squeeze the profit that bad. The taco's are on point, and the kitchen was very quick, which we appreciated.The queso was yummy, too!The outstanding stars of the restaurant were the cleaning crew. I saw every window cleaned while we were there, and both sets of doors cleaned twice! I'm used to taking my empty plates to the trash, but as soon as I finished, someone was there to clear my table. I know it's new, and they are looking for something to do, but I hope the manager keeps this up!

This Torchy's location hooks it up! We've been coming here since we moved last month and every trip has been top notch.

Always good food and good service. Parking is always a pain in the ass!Question- why have a sign that tells HEB customers not to park in your lot if you're not going to control who parks and doesn't?Watched a couple come from HEB with two full shopping carts and unload all their crap into their truck which was parked right in front of the restaurant.

Ordered breakfast tacos and were hugely disappointed. Ordered egg and potato and received scrambled eggs with three tater tots. My husband ordered chorizo and eggs and received a flat of eggs with chorizo on top. I guess lucky for the restaurant we ordered to go so we could not request a refund and go somewhere else.
