The Lovin'oven Bakery

Finally a place that delivers what is promised!I was at John's Trikes and popped in to see what this place offered. I'm rarely tempted by bakeries because I am always disappointed, it seems. I liked this chaotic little place as soon as I walked in. It seems it's always been there, like since Lancaster was established. I studied everything in the cases and settled on a slice of carrot cake, with the bold claim to be the best in the country! Really a perfect set up for disappointment. I paid and tucked it in the ice chest for later. Well, it's later and my husband I easily made 2 servings from the single slice. Yes. Yes indeed, this is the real deal. Moist and full of fruit and nuts, it's like great grandmas recipe. The frosting is piled on and perfect. Seriously, this is where you should stop if you are ever in the area!Thanks, ladies!!!

This place should give up an close their business!I've attached my original review so I won't have to write another one .I do want to add since that review I was hoping the cake would at least taste good but once again they failed me an the (red velvet cake) was very dry .Hope this review saves anyone else from ordering anything from this place.

An established bakery with awesome delicacies hand crafted with quality ingredients. Walk-in or order and pick up special orders. We ordered the carrot cake, it was pretty, ample, luscious, and sweet, but not overly sweet. A birthday tradition.

My birthday was yesterday and I ordered myself a chocolate pecan cake. Oh my it was moist and wonderful. I want to say thank you for a wonderful birthday

Mmmnnnn yes. Gotta try the Carrot Cake! Perfect for birthday or anything or for just a snack try the stuffed cookie. My favorite with German cake Iceing cookie.

If you weren't around in 1994, you may not remember that half of Lancaster's historic town square was obliterated in a tornado. The Bank was beautifully restored. The theater never really became operational, again, and there are empty lots with sidewalk, still to this day. But we love the spunky square and it's often unusual occupants. A longtime friend of the square is The Lovin' Oven and baker Suzanne Maxwell. Every community needs an old fashioned bakery where you can walk in and buy a modestly priced cookie and stand out front in the shade of the awning and nibble at your lemon bar or brownie. The Lovin' Oven is that bakery and they make great cakes to order, too.

Ordered the Carrot Cake for a birthday. It was Amazing to say the least!I called on a Tuesday needing the cake on Thursday (of the same week). The cake was ready and waiting for me by noon that Thursday! The girl behind the service counter gave me suggestions on serving it (since the cake has to be refrigerated due to the icing).I will not hesitate to order another cake from The Lovin Oven Bakery!!

Called last minute for a birthday cake for my 5 year old. She requested roses, daisies, bluebonnets and butterflies. The cake turned out adorably and when I was in shop I got to sample some delicious treats! The bakery was very accommodating, cake was done on time and all items we brought home were delightful. Happy with the service!

Oh my y'all need an Oscar for how good your cakes are. Every year I order an Italian Cream Cake from here and it never ceases to be amazing!!! So fresh and hands down no one can make Italian Cream like Lovin Oven. They've been in business for over 50 years. Amazing

No Excuses!!! I have popped in for years to this bakery. Sometimes for the whole cake and often times, slices. The Italian Cream is always what I get. This slice had to be refrigerated well over a week. It was hard and looked old when I got it home. I should have looked inside before driving off but I never had to do that with them. Now the frosting was very fresh but at the very middle to the back of the slice, different story. Usually you do get them refrigerated and by the time you get home and let them get room temperature, they are so moist. I know covid has changed things for business but don't loose who you are to sell bad product. That's the end for me. You know better.
