Came for a birthday brunch celebration. The service was great. The vibe was great, DJ could have toned down the music a little, felt like everyone was screaming at one another. Had the ox tails with grits and Lamb chops and jollof rice. The lamb chops and jollof rice were great! Seasoned to perfection. The Ox tails could have been more tender. Wasn't falling off the bone. Grits were cooked prefect! Overall the experience was great and it won't be our last time at this establishment.

I ordered the ox tail and grits, Mimosa tower & appetizers : salmon bites & crawfish hushpuppies. My guest ordered the lamb chop and grits.Both were very good as far as flavor, temperature & portions. Our server, my apologies I cannot remember her name (in very late completing the review 1-12-25) but I think she said is from Louisiana. She was great: personality, checking on us, the bottle service vibes :) & keeping our table taken care of in general! There was a live performance that day & in general music was a vibe!!!I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back. I really enjoyed my first time here.

Visited establishment for birthday celebration last minute. So glad I made it when I tell you I enjoyed everything on my plate including finances plate and cocktails, lol. Great ambiance, excellent waiters and delicious African food. Definitely will be back. I enjoyed my food so much I had to tell the chef what a great job he did. Everything was fresh.

Every year, I try a new location for my birthday, and I make it a point to support Black-owned businesses--especially as a business owner myself. This experience had its ups and downs from start to finish.Reservation Process:I called on January 25th and spoke with a gentleman named Harold, who took my name and number and told me the manager would call back to assist with my reservation. By Sunday, I still hadn't heard from anyone, so I followed up again. Harold finalized my reservation and sent a text confirmation through OpenTable. Fast forward to Wednesday, I received a call from Tori confirming my reservation and requesting a $200 deposit. Excuse me?! At no point during my initial booking with Harold was this mentioned. Tori said she would check with her manager and call me back. A few minutes later, she informed me that since the deposit policy wasn't disclosed at the time of booking, it would be waived.Arrival & Ambiance:Upon arrival, we checked in and were directed to the bar while waiting for our table. We purchased Drizzle cheesecakes for the entire party (one of my favorites!), and the staff kindly refrigerated them for us.The ambiance of the restaurant was breathtaking--sophisticated, upscale, and rich in culture. I was pleasantly delighted by how clean, spacious, and well-stocked the restrooms were, even offering feminine toiletries. I haven't seen that level of attention to detail since my clubbing days in the early 2000s. The table settings, décor, and overall aesthetic were beautifully done.They also offer mimosa tower service, featuring ladies waving light fixtures as part of a performance. However, their enthusiasm was noticeably lacking, which took away from the experience.Food Quality:Oxtails: ASlow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone tender, and flavorful. However, the menu advertised andouille sausage, which was completely absent from the dish.Grits: C-The portion size of the grits overshadowed the oxtails. If some heavy cream, butter, and salt were added it would have jazzed up the flavor. While I understand oxtails are a delicacy, for $25, the meal should have included more meat.Catfish: FOverly salty to the point of being inedible. We sent it back and informed both the waitress and what seemed to be a manager or hostess. Neither offered to replace it or remove it from the bill, so we ended up paying for something we didn't consume.Shrimp: ALarge, succulent, and flavorful. The demi-glaze was rich and creamy, but once again, the menu listed andouille sausage, which was missing from the dish.Scrambled Eggs: B-Overcooked and dry.Fried Chicken: B-Freshly prepared but inconsistently seasoned--some pieces were flavorful, while others were bland. A letdown overall.Salmon Bites: AWell-seasoned and tender.Jollof Rice: AFresh, fluffy, and well-seasoned.Cocktails:The drinks were refreshing, potent, and well-made. The bartender kept up impressively with the high demand.Blueberry Lemon Drop: A+++Mimosa Flight: AThe Iconic: AMusic:The DJ was phenomenal!!! His performance was energetic, hype and the mixes were LIT!! While the restaurant's ambiance was stunning and some of the dishes were excellent, the inconsistencies in service and food quality were disappointing. The handling of the catfish situation left a bad taste--both literally and figuratively. If they could improve on consistency and customer service, this could be a standout dining experience.

Nice restaurant. Went for brunch with a group of friends. I liked the music that was played, mostly hip hop and r&b. There was a DJ part of the time. I ordered the lamb chops and jollof rice. I don't eat a lot of African food so I can say whether it was up to par or not but I enjoyed it. It had a spice kick. I also ordered a s'mores martini. It wasn't what I was expecting as it wasn't that sweet. Tasted more like an espresso martini. Service was good. Would come back.

Nicely decorated spot in Richardson. Modern, cute and chic. My waitress was AMAZING. Her customer service made the experience better. She was very sweet and pleasant. I tried the Sunday brunch menu. They have a DJ playing music so this is GREAT. He played some good music. For drinks I love the mimosa sampler. Allows you to try multiple flavors. Food is ok I really need to comeback for dinner to try something better. The presentation of oxtails and grits was on point. Chicken and waffles looked ok. The chicken was lacking season and was boring. I wasn't impressed. The oxtails and grits were much better. I enjoyed them and the grits were really yummy. Oxtails were a good size and seasoned. They had a good amount of meat on them. The eggs were yummy! Overall I had a good experience. I will visit again and try something else. I also need to get a real cocktail to see if I can score them higher. I think they are on the right track and will do well.

This place is absolutely excellent. I highly recommend it and also you should definitely try the martinis (don't remember which one I got but it was pretty amazing). Also it's just a cool vibe, lots of effort into the interior and I appreciate that. Everyone was so nice too! Can't wait to go back

Our server Chiamaka, was informed multiple times that our food was cold and she wanted to go back & forwards with the matter instead of completely hearing us out, until the manager came. She didn't follow-up the first and second time with cold food causing us to just sit, this was on a light night.Chiamaka, did inform my table of 4 that they were serving from a specialty menu due to it being the 1 Yr Anniversary. The problem was when we asked for our ticket, she stated then that tonight was a 3 Course Meal due to the celebration. So over all, the communication was off (poor customer service) with repeated cold food.

The food and drinks were amazing. I had the shrimp and salmon Oscar with coconut rice. It was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The music and entertainment were great. It was just a vibe! Our waiter Kai was great too. Shout out to him for taking great care of us last night.
