I wish I had better news here, but my lunch proved no good deed (trying random restaurant next to the place I got coffee this morning) goes unpunished. I must take some of the blame - I did not order one of the meals written in big letters on the wall but from a small sign near the register which caught eye - Baby Back Rib Special.I should have clued in that since nowhere else were ribs mentioned this might not be a wise choice, but I looooove ribs and allowed myself to be wooed. What I received were ribs that were so dry and meat devoid as to be considered desiccated, dryer than Ben Stein taking roll call. Rib meat is not supposed to crunch like cracklins but these did. The baked beans are not bad, but not out of the ordinary but these sad ribs meant some piggy died in vein and this makes me sad. They may have other stuff that is better, but honestly these ribs were in no shape to be given to a customer. You are better off not selling something inedible and maybe getting that customer back another day than giving something that even to the eye is clearly past it's edible lifecycle.

This review is for the retail store and not the food truck owned by the same person. Food was fast, ordered a brisket quesadilla and loaded brisket nachos to go and received them in about 6 minutes. I have no complaints about the taste of the barbecue itself, the barbecue meat was moist and it was ready quickly! I would suggest ordering different menu items because my two particular entrees alone were very food truck reminiscent - the nachos were made with standard chips you would get at a ball park, and the quesadilla was similar to your typical bar fare. I'm definitely going to go back! Next time I will try more original menu items like the Barbecue Parfait or the bowl with mashed potatoes, some vessel that won't take away from the bbq experience as much.Cute interior, just know that this is a to-go place so if you plan on eating here, there are only a half dozen spots.

I'm pretty picky about BBQ places. I always order brisket and Mac and cheese when I'm first trying a new place. I ordered the brisket street tacos and the baked mac and cheese. The meat was moist and not at all chewy and had a great flavor. The Mac and cheese had fresh cilantro on top which was new for me. It added a really nice flavor to the dish. The restaurant was super clean and the guys working treated me like a regular. I will absolutely be back. The folks at Tha Smokin Chef seem to enjoy what they do and it comes through in the food they serve.

I'm not sure what made me stop here but I'm glad I did. The service was great and fast. The owner was really nice and polite. I ordered the bbq parfait with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. The brisket was really good and flavorful ! Everything was well seasoned and every bite was delightful lol!

I love BBQ and would probably eat from this food truck again and again, if it weren't for the way my experience was handled. Halfway through my meal, I found a HAIR. I went back to the truck and got a confused look by one person and a weak apology from the other. "Huh, that's weird. Neither of us have hair like that." Are you saying I put it in there?? At no point did they offer to remake my meal or offer a refund. "Thanks for letting us know." Seriously? $10 for a meal with hair in it. Maybe you should be wearing hair nets, or at the very least a hat.

This place is REALLY good but they are never open!! They're close nights and almost all weekend, practically! I wish they were open more, I'd eat there if they were. Not sure how they expect to stay in business when they're closed Sunday's and by 5pm on Saturday. I give it another year, at best.

It was very good. I had the Brisket Nachos...I would of loved some avocado but I don't think they have it available. My husband had the parfait which was very good all of it. Plus the funnel fries. Very good stuff.

To randall the owner: Thank you for the offer to refund or refeed me 3 months after the fact, but I will pass. Sorry if I caught you on a bad day but it really was that bad. I stand by my original review of the food, but Im happy to give you a star for standing behind it.

This is the second time I've had your food. I can not say I was impressed the first time, I had tacos and the corn tortillas never made it on the skillet, which made for raw corn tortillas. I decided to give, "the smokin' chef" another try. Round two: Seriously guys, you are charging $8 for a bowl of mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of brisket, corn and jalapeños on top. There is probably a full tablespoon of brisket in this bowl, if that. Don't get me wrong, it smells great, but the actual sustenance, is just not there. Just about every item on this menu is over priced by about $3.
