It's a small place where you order and pay at the counter. The food, especially the brisket was fantastic! Will go back.

Was excited to try the place on a Saturday afternoon. Me and 3 friends dropped in. Everyone except me had brisket and said it was good. My ham was horrible and the sides were not any good for me as well. Service was friendly and quick. Honestly I'm not sure I would give it a second try. Maybe time will change my mind.

We were kindly greeted and seated! We were in a bit of a hurry, so we quickly ordered and received our food in a timely manner. The service was really great and the food was hot and fresh. Next time, I will take pictures and include more details. We will be back.

Location is convenient with ample parking in modest neighborhood. barbecue spot with very friendly and helpful staff. The highlight of our meal was pork ribs, sweet tea, and rice casserole. The negative is a very soupy mac & cheese and very dry sliced brisket (not juicy and tender).

Convenient, Great Tastes, Good Service. Perfect spot to stop in while traveling for work. I was starving and I left with a very satisfied belly. I wanted to try a dessert, either the banana pudding or peach cobbler. I tried to ask which one he recommended but he thought I asked for both (lol) so I ended up getting charged for two desserts. Oh well. I didn't complain because I did want to try both. The peach cobbler was okay, but the banana pudding I would definitely return for!!! The veggies did not look super appealing or fresh but I was there after peak lunch time, so maybe that was why. I would return to this place for the good brisket, atmosphere, and banana pudding!

Amazzzzzzing bbq. Everyone, come here, except when I want to because I don't want a line :). This is a family-owned bbq joint in Hurst near the mall. The brisket was so juicy (and it didn't even appear that fatty) Is it magic? Maybe. The pork ribs were fallin right off the bone. My test with any bbq joint is whether I can eat the meat without bbq sauce and love it. This place passes with flying colors. However, don't be skimpin on that bbq sauce. It's so good here--in fact, they advised we mix the sweet and spicy and it was perfection. The cherry on top for this Texas Star BBQ is that the staff are so kind and helpful. I will be back. For. Sure.

Stopped by for lunch, staff just stared at me when I walked in, asked for meat recommendations and one of the guys seemed annoyed, there was no one else in line maybe he was having bad day. Food was average, best thing I ate was the casserole and pickled jalapeños. The staff did greet the female guest who came in after me quite a bit differently. I never felt like I was welcome there. I'm glad some people had good experiences here, mine wasn't.

Hi peeps! Rainy day. Not up for cooking. Have plans to cook tomorrow. For today, fire up my trusty Yelp app and see what some of you awesome folks have tried out. I love BBQ in all forms. Up pop Texas Star BBQ. I call ahead to make sure they are up and smoking. Yep. Drive around the block. Nice spot in a relatively newish strip of shops. Soon as you walk in, the aroma of smoked meat is present. Maybe not to the degree I love it, but it is hitting. I am here for brisket, ribs, sausage and some sides. I just smoked a brisket two weeks ago, so this needs to out do my own. As he trimmed, it looked pretty standard, just not as good a bark as I love. Might not use a lot of Black pepper or they wrapped it in plastic, which melts off the bark. It was super tender, super moist. The ribs were tiny. I mean, spareribs, but the bones were the length of baby backs. They were delicious, with good mesquite flavor. Also super tender. The sides I picked were standard. Beans were ranch style pintos, mac was decent, onion rings were done perfect, and fries. All in all it was a pretty good meal considering the price wasn't that steep. Will give this spot another go or two down the line. I would place them with Soul Man's BBQ for sure. Service was pretty good. This is the best barbecue around in my opinion. I'm so glad that they open their doors. Friendly staff, and great food!

Very good bbq place located in Hurst. Service was excellent, food quality was great, and it's a quaint restaurant. This was our 1st time here. We enjoyed it! And, we'll be back!
