Texas Pit Oyster Bar

While Texas Pit Oyster Bar may have other appealing menu items, their catfish fell short of expectations. The sheer size of the catfish pieces was impressive, but that's where the positives ended. Unfortunately, both times I ordered it, the fish tasted overwhelmingly fishy and undercooked in some areas.I even tried asking them to cook it longer the second time around, hoping for a crispier result, but it remained excessively greasy and fishy. It was a real letdown, especially given the restaurant's name and potential.Perhaps their other seafood dishes are better, but I'd recommend steering clear of the catfish.

Pretty good fried seafood. Dissatisfying fried corn nugget appetizer, it was fried hard and Overly priced at$10.

Perfect and fresh food cooked with great subtle spicing. Southern kick to everything and deep south feeling. Staff loves their food, and my guest agreed 100 percent. Pricing perfect. Thinking about going to joes crabshack or an upper scale seafood restaurant? Don't. Dress casual and enjoy phenomenal food in a cozy relaxing environment.

Do not eat the seafood gumbo from here. I ate here on 1/14/25 had the oysters and salad and seafood gumbo. Was full from the dozen oysters and salad and took the gumbo home and immediately put it in the fridge in my apartment next door, so I wasn't even far or anything and ate the seafood gumbo the next day and it gave me food poisoning

Us Okies visiting once again...we luv us some Texas Pit Oyster Bar, just wish one would open around the corner from my house. Food was great a usual and top notched service with a smile. We enjoyed oyster Rockefeller's, half shell, catfish & fried shrimp

Eh, while I've had better I've also had a lot worse. The TX gumbo didn't have the same flavors I'm familiar with but it was still good and filling. A bit on the expensive side for what you get but as I mentioned... I've had worse. Service here was acceptable... nothing out of the ordinary or executional about it. The venue was clean and appointed with your traditional "bar" fair from sports posters, beer supplier signage and the like. Not too shabby. I'll be back to try more food here.

Haven't been here in a while, but since I was driving by, I decided to stop in for dinner. My server, Ashleigh, was totally awesome, attentive, friendly, professional, and her service made the dinner even more enjoyable. The food was spot on as always. I enjoyed the peel n eat jumbo shrimp, the seafood gumbo, and my twisted tea. I highly recommend this place if you work or live near by, or you're just passing through.

I really enjoyed my meal and the server was very good! Love the decor! Will definitely be back!

The food presents well; however this food lacks seasoning like really it's missing! Confused though cause the catfish breading is speckled as though it's seasoned; but nahhh it's just crunchy.Shrimp is the same way!I had grilled veggies and well tasteless too!Not sure if they are rationing season but this ain't it for fish and shrimp.Okay if you are on a low / no sodium diet, then this is the place for you.

The food is fantastic and great wait staff. Local gem. Don't skip on the clam chowder, fish, shrimp and oysters are super fresh. For the non seafood lovers, the Burger and Philly is awesome.
